The King is back in London for more cancer treatment . He travelled by helicopter then car so waiting for certain posters to be outraged.
Imagine an elderly man who has known back problems and who is undergoing treatment for cancer wanting to travel in comfort !

Imagine an elderly man wanting to travel in comfort, backpain and cancer treatment or not (don't care for referring to HM as 'elderly,' being as he's only 5 years older than me....). Comfort is why I'm travelling premium economy to Oz in September. WTF is wrong with being in comfort, whoever and whatever you are??

Mylovelygreendress · 13/02/2024 13:41

Apologies @MrsDanversGlidesAgain . He is the same age as DH who is always described as elderly by his GP !

'S OK. I got described as 'very old' on here the other day. 😡I suppose techinically I am elderly, I just don't feel it. Mind you, I did have a manager who described me as 'good for my age' when I hit 40. 🙄I didn't ask for details.

jeffgoldblum · 13/02/2024 13:46

I was described as a geriatric mother when I was pregnant with my first at just 37!!!
Was not amused 😒, however the nurse seeing my expression fell over herself to point out it was a medical term! 🤣, still felt like I should be reaching for the zimmer though!

Yes, I remember the definitions of 'old' a few days ago, and meant to mention that to my DM who is mid-80s and hasn't had to slow down yet. She now has a cleaner come in for a couple of hours a week, but only because she hates cleaning and has finally accepted she can afford it! (grew up in a poor working class family and with wartime rationing!)

wildernesssw · 13/02/2024 14:19

She did decide about 10 years ago, though, that she was done with long haul flights (I was living in Foreign Parts back then) as they were too uncomfortable.

I already find them too uncomfortable, at a considerably younger age!

Are they still using 'elderly primagravida'? 😃

upinaballoon · 13/02/2024 14:56

May I de-rail?

I was just about the only person in the world who thought Meghan looked fine in that blue floaty dress, see last page.(RF)

I bought a splendid cauliflower with the intention of making cauliflower cheese but it is so large that I might use some of it to make roasted cauliflower soup.

Monday treatment day. I wonder how many he will have.

jeffgoldblum · 13/02/2024 14:56

Sadly they still were 10 years ago with my last pregnancy @MrsDanversGlidesAgain , not sure about now though! 😭🤣

Of course @upinaballoon , wouldn't call that a derail though!

You've certainly brought up a smorgasbord of different points though!

Personally I love cauliflower cheese!

One of my aunts was quite an old mother. She'd been a midwife and was very happy to go for it.

jeffgoldblum · 13/02/2024 15:09

I was an unexpected mother!!!! , we'd tried for years , I was declared infertile, was offered ivf , declined, accepted the situation and embraced child free lifestyle!
7 years later...... I'm pregnant!!!!!
Was not well or good with being pregnant.
3 years later.... pregnant again!! ( wasn't thrilled!)
However I got one of each and couldn't live without them now!!!
Won't lie July im 50 , im knackered and feel to old for it now 🤣🤣🤣

If there was cauliflower left over my Mum used to make cauliflower cheese when I was a school-girl. We didn't call it cauli'n'cheese. One of her sisters-in-law used to sometimes cook bacon to go with it, but not incorporated in it.

I must go and roast 'me cauli'.

I wonder if the King is having radium treatment. I haven't put a question mark because it's a statement - 'I wonder'. My old school friend, who died over 10 years ago, said the radium treatment made her feel very tired.

RoyallyRhubarb · 13/02/2024 15:18

Do you think Charles will lose his luscious locks?

Cauliflower cheese is divine, especially the frozen stuff because then I know I can Bing it in the k en and not have to faff around with hacking the cauliflower apart.

jeffgoldblum · 13/02/2024 15:21

That's sad @upinaballoon 😢, about your friend I mean , not the bacon on the side!

Sadly @RoyallyRhubarb, if he does, I always think it's not as traumatic as when women do ! , I'm sure men do feel very upset but bald men are not as stigmatised as bald women!

That's so lovely @jeffgoldblum about your bonus babies. After all that heartache
He may well do, @RoyallyRhubarb - my sister has lost all her hair and has been very upset about it. We looked at wigs, but they made her more depressed! She's wearing beanies.
Charles could just wear his crown.

jeffgoldblum · 13/02/2024 15:31

Ohh I'm so sorry for your friend @Maireas !
I can't imagine how I'd feel if I lost all my hair!

Thanks 🙏, yep I'm blessed, I isn't easy as you know there is sen and it's still more full on parenting than it should be now , but they are fabulous little Sods in many ways ! 🤣
