Does anyone know where Prince William is?

1000 replies

TallerSally · 06/02/2024 17:44

Errrrr….. where’s Willy? The press focus in the past 24 hours has been perplexing. King Charles’ diagnostic has been the top item, of course. But, bizarrely, the 2nd item has almost invariably been… Prince Harry this and that and the other. Prince HARRY??? What’s with the obsession with him? This should be about Prince WILLIAM! Yet from/about him, absolute silence. What on Earth is going on?

And please don’t start with the “he has to be at his wife’s bedside”. If Harry The Not Next In Line To The Throne And Not Counsellor of State And Can’t Stand In For The King etc etc can fly all the way from Montecito, then William The next King and He Who Should Stand In For King Charles can go visit his Dad in hospital (did he?), rush to be by his dad’s bedside (did he?), make announcements about which official duties he will take up, etc etc.

I know Prince Harry is the one the media are addicted to writing about and slagging off to drive clicks, but can they (and so many on these boards) perhaps take a break from their unhealthy obsession with H (&M) and keep the spotlight where most would expect it to be, on King Charles and, in particular, his successor Prince William?

[Title should read does anyone know...]

“Relax, engage with the content, spar… this isn’t trench warfare, Team This against Team That…”

Yes OP you are absolutely right.

I have read that Kate has a nurse. Actually 2 - so working in shifts. That would indicate that she is still quite ill, or that it’s just par for the course that rich people just have nurses when unwell.

Where have you read this?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 08/02/2024 09:19

Where have you read this?

European media, probs. They've got all the inside goss from the palace 🙄

It's hard to tell sarcasm from someone who has posted in the manner in which you have.

Hmmmmmmm… not that hard.

Not everyone takes themselves that seriously all the time on these boards.

Relax, engage with the content, spar… this isn’t trench warfare, Team This against Team That…

Nor is it a pre-school playground… despite the repeat posters of silly gifs…

Peace

Ok @TallerSally . I’ll read your posts more Caerphilly next time and try not to get the wrong end of the breadstick.

Peace and cheese be with you.

(Edam you, @wildernesssw )

OP needs not to get so cheesed off with posters.

Indeed @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar Edam I will read more Caerphilly. red Leicester leave it at that

Well someone I follow on tik tok showed the post. It looked real to me. So I went to Twitter but could find nothing under the name of the MBE recipient until I did a bit more thorough search, and found the twitter account (included here). But there was an image of a ‘linked in’ post belonging to Trish Spruce. So I found the actual post on ‘linked in’. I’ve posted both. Because interestingly, the Twitter account was a European one. Trish Spruce says that she asked William how Kate was doing.

Also, I was watching a tik tok-er (with credentials) and she pointed out the difference in the way the ‘William and Harry not seeing other’ thing is being presented on each side of the pond.

She has noted that in the UK, media headlines tend to read as though William would not be seeing Harry, the inference being the decision not to see each other is coming from William. In the US the headlines tend to read the other way around, that Harry is not planning to see William - inference that the decision is coming from Harry.

Personally, I think neither of them want to see each other, and that sort of communication can go unspoken, but understood, between siblings.

But the way some of the media of two different countries slant a story differently is interesting, at least to me.

I find this interesting too, @LittleTeawithmilk1

I'd be surprised if anyone is still in doubt at this point that the media thrive on stirring sh*t, and that Harry was absolutely correct in Spare in saying that they share the largest part of the blame in attempting to ruin his life, pre and post-Meghan. As he wins more and more court cases, this will become clearer to the general public too.

The media make or break lives... but not everyone gives them the power to do so. And Harry's point that the RF is in a Faustian pact with them which makes some members of the RF sacrificial lambs resonates fully.

This constant RF drama is also all becoming a little tedious. OK, various powers that be need the populace to be distracted from the real issues impacting their lives - mortgage rates, high supermarket prices, unaffordable/unavailable housing, knife crime, child sex abuse... Better to keep people making silly jokes about cheese on MN, than take a stand and use their power as concerned citizens to try to have a positive impact on society, however small.

The whole system will continue to thrive as long as willing eedjits funnybones (ha-ha-ha mygoodnessthatssofunny!!! 😆) go along with it...

The reporting of the nurses is intersting as quite a few news outlets are reporting it as Kate had two Philippino nurses looking after her (the implication being that it was in the hospital)with a few as Kate has two Philippino nurses looking after her.

I’d imagine that will be quietly clarified with someone like the BBC if it was definitely ‘had’ rather than ‘has’ as there’s quite a significant difference.

Seriously are people really going to take on board what they read on twitter and TikTok 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mylovelygreendress · 08/02/2024 10:03

Did William himself not refer to the 2 nurses ? Af the Investiture ?

He did. It’s if he said had or has that’s being questioned as some are reporting one and some the other.

This is a well respected Health worker who received an MBE from William. Why would anyone want to call her a liar?
Don't get it.

It's not Twitter gossip, there are photos of her with her MBE and she talks about her day at the Palace
And what is wrong with Kate receiving great care from two Filipino nurses anyway...
Some posts on here are so strange.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 08/02/2024 10:11

There's nothing wrong with her receiving care from two Filipino nurses. The issue some posters seem to have is that it is unfair if she is having this care at home. It is not clear whether the nurses were the hospital nurses or private nurses in their house, but I strongly suspect the former, as he's not likely to be divulging private information about Catherine's recovery.

Roussette · 08/02/2024 10:12

@LittleTeawithmilk1

I find it interesting too... it's all about the slant put on William and Harry meeting by respective media. Of course Murdoch UK media needs to keep the H&M clickbait going so of course, it will be 'William refused to meet Harry'.
But there could well be another side, and at this moment in time, Harry chose not to meet William.

As you say, it's more likely they both agree not to see each other!

Edited

To me (as a Nurse), that reads like she had 2 Nurses in the Hospital who mainly cared for her, not at home.

It's not always possible in the NHS (though we try) to be named nurse for a patient to ensure continuity of care. In private hospital it would be much more achievable.

Roussette · 08/02/2024 10:15

I read the MBE lady just saying she had great care from two nurses. That's all that matters really isn't it... as you say continuity of care and convalescing. Don't really care whether is it at home or hospital.

goodbyestranger · 08/02/2024 10:36

I'm not clear why we need to know that the nurses in question were Filipino nurses.

LittleTeawithmilk1 · 08/02/2024 10:38

I read it as she had the care at home. Funnily enough the tik -toker who mentioned the MBE recipient did not say ‘at home’ or ‘at hospital’. I read it as at home. It was a small part of the tik tok-ers longer video.

I obviously wasn’t trying to mislead anyone. I put the 2 links up so all could read them.

I think I assumed that Kate had the 2 nurses at home was because I figured yep, the Royal Family members probably would do that. Just as doctors would come to them or their children when they are sick. It’s been listed on here what sort of home assistance in all areas ‘normal’ Royal family members and rich people have:

And yes @pilates. I do find information on tik tok, and a bit on Twitter (for politics). People I follow come with the receipts though, and if I’m unsure I’ll check. There are some extraordinarily well educated people, respected in their fields on tik tok and you get to hear their opinions unfiltered by a media biases and needs to sell news. The people I follow don’t have to answer to murdoch and the rest.

I don’t read the Royal Family articles from Daily Mail or Telegraph, or Sun, or Express, or yahoo or msn without talking them all with a large bag full of salt,(or any of Murdoch’s media for that matter).

We don't need to know. However, that is what William told the NHS lady who he gave an MBE to. And how amazing and kind they were.

goodbyestranger · 08/02/2024 10:41

Well quite. I meant that I wonder why William made a point of describing them by their ethnicity. It's not relevant to their professional skills.

LittleTeawithmilk1 · 08/02/2024 10:42

goodbyestranger · 08/02/2024 10:36

No neither am I clear on that, goodbyestranger. And Nor was the tik tok-er. I think her words were ‘No, just no.’

goodbyestranger · 08/02/2024 10:36

I'm not clear why we need to know that the nurses in question were Filipino nurses.

That's because the woman involved recruits staff from abroad. It was showing that he was aware of her role.

mrsmingleton · 08/02/2024 10:44

The real answer is always so much more boring than the made up ones, isn't it?
