Does anyone know where Prince William is?

Errrrr….. where’s Willy? The press focus in the past 24 hours has been perplexing. King Charles’ diagnostic has been the top item, of course. But, bizarrely, the 2nd item has almost invariably been… Prince Harry this and that and the other. Prince HARRY??? What’s with the obsession with him? This should be about Prince WILLIAM! Yet from/about him, absolute silence. What on Earth is going on?

And please don’t start with the “he has to be at his wife’s bedside”. If Harry The Not Next In Line To The Throne And Not Counsellor of State And Can’t Stand In For The King etc etc can fly all the way from Montecito, then William The next King and He Who Should Stand In For King Charles can go visit his Dad in hospital (did he?), rush to be by his dad’s bedside (did he?), make announcements about which official duties he will take up, etc etc.

I know Prince Harry is the one the media are addicted to writing about and slagging off to drive clicks, but can they (and so many on these boards) perhaps take a break from their unhealthy obsession with H (&M) and keep the spotlight where most would expect it to be, on King Charles and, in particular, his successor Prince William?

@jeffgoldblum a strong starter!

ArcaneWireless · 07/02/2024 18:56

But as discussed elsewhere Rousette, that may be pure coincidence.

Just because a post is directly under yours may simply be because a post has been lost, someone has chosen to read more posts before posting and it has turned out that way entirely coincidentally.

You said yourself that everyone does it differently. Not all of us can be poised ready to post to the person just above them. Life/time can get in the way.

You don’t care for gifs? That’s great. I don’t care for some of the absolute nonsense touted on here sometimes and try to break the nastiness/nonsense with a gif.

I do wonder why some think it must be a dig at them personally. If I thought that way, I’d be wondering what I’d said to upset someone for them to possibly react in that way.

It just isn’t that personal on here. I don’t know the vast majority of posters from an egg.

But my recollection of the text with your gif was the same as mentioned above.

As said, recollections may vary.

I'd wager it's a minority of posters who enjoy GIFs.

Then a minority of posts will have them. And in any case you can simply scroll past. No need to dwell on what you find annoying. Each to their own

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 07/02/2024 19:00

Are there any threads on the RF forum that aren’t going to turn into posters taking personal swipes at each other atm?

It’s the nastiest I’ve seen it on here.

Thoroughly tedious scrolling through the squabbling to see actual posts on the subject as well.

wildernesssw · 07/02/2024 19:02

I hope so indeed!

OK, well I will bring things back to the OP's posts. Does anyone agree that KP and the press is reading her posts and headlines being changed accordingly? Because I think that's what she's saying. Is there some precedent for MN posts influencing KP policy on royal visits and the royal press corps' coverage?

In a nutshell milkshake?

No.

Damn. I was going to ask William for a pony in exchange for all the nice things I type about him. And the real sort, not the Del Boy kind, I don't come for cheap.

Dear William, I didn't realise you read this. I have long been a fan. Can you reintroduce some of the Duchy products at Waitrose please? Thanks 👍

So lovely to see that KP read my post yesterday and hurriedly briefed some journalists about Prince William doing something or other official

So lovely to see that you bothered to read the replies that said that it had already been announced that he would be carrying out investitures in Windsor and then attending a gala dinner in aid of the London Air Ambulance today…. Before you started this thread 🤨

Was that the chocolate in the gold foil? Yes please, William 🙏

ArcaneWireless · 07/02/2024 19:24

I would just like a waitrose without a 5 hour round trip. And that doesn’t include the 90 minute mooch round.

Maireas · 07/02/2024 19:24

Also, how many varieties of cheese do you produce? You can never have too many.

wildernesssw · 07/02/2024 19:28

I know for a fact that those of you who aren't in the pay of KP are in the pay of the British Cheese Board

Busted

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 07/02/2024 19:29

@ArcaneWireless you should be asking them to do an Arcane X Duchy collaboration, and getting them to sell that delicious sounding pie with the beef cheeks you made the other day. Move over, Heston!

No! Perhaps a certain Someone could loan you a helicopter to speed up the journey?.

wildernesssw · 07/02/2024 19:30

So what are your nominations for the British Cheese Board?

Cheddar, of course. Wensleydale, without question.

Caerphilly? Red Leicester?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 07/02/2024 19:31

Caerphilly! man, I haven't eaten that cheese for years. (Finds shopping list, makes note).
