Indifference to PoW?

I find it strange that there’s no real interest or concern from the public about POW being in hospital. Nobody seems to be that bothered. If you compare it to the circus if Diana had been in the same situation….. I just find it odd. I always thought she was relatively popular because we’re constantly told she is but actually…. Tumbleweed.

I know it’s her own business etc but it just feels quite odd that somebody can disappear and there is no interest in why. I don’t really know or care what’s happened or why, but the silence is really intriguing. It reminds me of when the brexit referendum happened and I had no idea that there was such strong feeling about the EU…. I had no idea that there was such apathy about the PoW until now. It’s been a real eye opener for me.

I reckon the next generation or two, the monarchy will be gone.

I think she possibly had the op and a stay in hospital 2 weeks before it was announced. And by the time William visited she was actually out and convalescing either at Windsor or even at the Middletons family home. William made the token visit to make it look legitimate but she had no other visitors because she was actually out and getting better

So the Police had officers stationed outside the hospital 24/7 just to keep up the pretence? I don't think so

fonfusedm · 31/01/2024 16:01

Why are people convinced the press would post photos? They didn’t post photos of the nanny or ones from holiday which were printed abroad.

OK! I wasn't there, I don't know about any Police.

Samcro · 31/01/2024 16:05

@Roussette your ideas were no more far fetched than a lot on here.😄

im sure PW visited her. surely thats why he has taken time off. I doubt he went every day as I imagine security is a night mare, and have to think of the other patients.

asrarpolar · 31/01/2024 16:12

Security is not a nightmare. The Queen visited or accompanied the King about five times to the hospital.
And I did not see police on the door.

asrarpolar · 31/01/2024 16:14

There are lots of far fetched theories swirling around on social media. But the Royal Family only have themselves to blame. They expect people to swallow whatever they tell them even when it is obviously not true, which is why lots of people no longer trust what the palace says.

Samcro · 31/01/2024 16:14

ok so security is not a nightmare, maybe they just didn't want to be seen.

asrarpolar · 31/01/2024 16:16

Who knows? I just know we are being lied to.

Who knows? I just know we are being lied to.

Why are you getting so het up ?

Just because you didn’t see anyone visiting the POW doesn’t mean it didn’t happen ? You didn’t see her leave yet she did !

I have a relative who works near there who said there were police outside 24/7 .

Puzzledandpissedoff · 31/01/2024 16:21

I’m not surprised they have handled it the way they have - folk would have been falling over themselves to make up their own series of events even if they’d been told everything that had actuallyhappened anyway

Exactly, ArcaneWireless

In the end we don't know, and with medical matters that's how it should be if the person concerned wants it that way, so let's just be pleased for her that she's out and hopefully recovering well

asrarpolar · 31/01/2024 16:22

@Mylovelygreendress I am not at all "het up". What a bizarre accusation to make.

Roussette · 31/01/2024 16:26

I feel sorry for your rellie who had to put her life on hold to watch this 24/7, she must've been exhausted!

No, what is bizarre is someone posting multiple times insisting that William never visited his wife even though none of us know how many times he visited . And nor should we know . Calm down.

asrarpolar · 31/01/2024 16:33

@Mylovelygreendress again the veiled accusations of hysteria. Why are you so het up at someone with a different viewpoint that you have to repeatedly insult them?

smilesy · 31/01/2024 16:46

asrarpolar · 31/01/2024 15:29

@smilesy Are you suggesting William visited her in the back of a van? Why would he do that?
I thought the Palace had claimed that William visited Kate every day.
And my suggestion was that the reporters did not see Catherine leaving at 11amish because that too was a lie. Why I have no idea.

@wordler you are wrong, there are not lots of cars with tinted windows going in and out of the hospital every day. The few that did reporters were chasing down the street and looking in windows. They still did not see William or Catherine.

Charles and Camilla handled the media well. They posed for photos and had excellent press as a result. William could do with learning from his father how to handle the media. He could have been driven to the hospital and waved to the press from the front seat instead of allegedly hiding in the back of a van to sneak in the goods entrance.

No, I’m merely suggest that they used another entrance where there is vehicular access. A delivery entrance isn’t just for vans 🙄

12FreeRangeEggs · 31/01/2024 16:46

My Dad has used that hospital many years ago and so have I. He used to be pretty famous, well he would like to think he still is, and I’ve said as much on MN threads previously. There are many entrances, including one not particularly glamorous back entrance where you can virtually step straight into your waiting car from a big black iron door. I know because we used it when I collected Dad. I always went in the main entrance but then I’m an unknown, but I imagine you could enter as well as exit that way.

I seem to recall there were underground passages too that linked up parts of the hospital, because I had a procedure done there and had to be wheelchair’d to another clinic and surprisingly it didn’t require exiting the hospital. So wholey possible PoW did visit but wasn’t seen.

jeffgoldblum · 31/01/2024 17:31

@12FreeRangeEggs , now hold on for a moment!!!
Don't you go posting anything sensible now!

It’s super-easy to check that though. Here you go. Three uniformed police officers at the front doors of the hospital, with some Royal Protection officers also near the car.

There is an absolute world of difference between ‘being lied to’ and not being told something which is essentially none of your business.

Making up a whole load of pish to suit a narrative is bizarre.

‘I know we are being lied to’?

With respect, you know nowt.

We don’t know. All that matters - for the sake of her family and with the support of her family - is that she has a full and speedy recovery.

jeffgoldblum · 31/01/2024 18:36

Indeed arc , sometimes I feel I should be passing out the tinfoil on these threads !

upinaballoon · 31/01/2024 18:44

I knew there would be passages but I think my post was deleted.

I have wondered if Camilla smuggled William in, inside her big handbag.

I enjoyed the conversation 2/3 pages ago, about the lack of a vigil and flowers and especially the picture of cuddly toys tucked in among the flowers. If there had been vigils would there have been candles too?

stillavid · 31/01/2024 18:45

Honestly, I feel so sorry for Kate. Whatever surgery she has had was clearly serious as no one is in hospital nowadays for that long for anything minor - even in a private hospital.

When she does next appear in public she will be aware that she will be scrutinised - people will be looking at what she is wearing to see if the rumours are true about the type of surgery she had.

Now more than ever, I am very glad that I am not a royal.

ArcaneWireless · 31/01/2024 18:49

Quite stillavid
