@Maireas the papers are already getting the blame for talking about it. They should ignore these extraordinary events, don’t you know?! How dare they take notice of a pre publicised visit, pre publicised by the person visiting, with all the bells and whistles of SUVs and security?! How dare they talk about a rare moment of reconciliation when one party has spent 3 years monetising and talking publicly of division and not speaking to his family for months if not years? Where’s the story, eh?
Unfortunately I think the family may feel that the only safe option for protecting their privacy is short and probably quite formal visits. No cosy fireside chats at Sandringham, which on a human/family level is pretty sad for them both. I wonder if Charles feels guilty about the leaked letters between him and Meghan, since that episode dragged Catherine into it via the Dutch translation of Endgame. (Guilty for corresponding not for leaking.) And there’s a lot of rumours about recording devices and pictures that shouldn’t have been taken. All so sad and tawdry. Anyway, I will wait to see how William and Camilla get the blame in some way, or some complaint about the men in grey.
