I can’t help but think it sensible - as mentioned above - that any meeting may be kept brief.

I haven’t heard how H got here, but if it was in a plane full of people rather than a private flight, then it would be sensible to wait to see if any bug/illness presented itself. More so given that the King has been told to avoid meet/greets etc.

It is the reason most of my visits with dad have been through a window this year. I don’t want him to catch what I have and there are others in his ward to be mindful of too.

Not just my decision. His too and that of the fabulous hospital staff looking after him. His health (what there is of it) is too important to mess around with.

I haven’t once, as has been alluded to elsewhere about the King, thought he was trying to be a class A (insert an expletive of choice) - merely mindful that any bug/illness may interfere or compromise ongoing treatment.

It isn’t outwith the realms of possibility that the King will be erring on the side of caution either.

Perhaps the timing could have been a wee better. And although he was buggered either way, it may have been easier to pop across without any declaration of his intentions.

Looked for the great earlier post by OP, and it’s been deleted
Interesting
Good thread, back into the shadows…

Oh very kind of you. Do come out of the shadows and join in if you are up to it. It was such a great post, I’m struggling to remember what I said 🤣 never mind why it’s been deleted! Apparently it broke talk guidelines.

In response to being asked why every royal story ends up being about H&M, I said something about OS making it about them, when he claims to be a neutral reporter. Of everything he could have said about King Charles’ diagnosis, he chose to tweet about Harry. When he tweeted about the Jamaica visit, he drew negative and unfounded comparisons with W&C rather than just saying it was nice they were there. He draws them into a conversation about the wider royals. Not sure how that breaches guidelines.

Think I also said that the subject of H&M is introduced by their supporters as well as their detractors, as on current threads.

And wrt making a choice about reading and commenting fuelling the media to publish, I said some of us choose to respond to things that are published to call out any BS. Again, not sure what guideline that violated.

Clearly this morning I must have inadvertently threatened to strangle a cat in broad daylight whilst shouting death to Guardian readers or something. Must not post before coffee.

I'm sorry but this is epically hilarious!! 🤣
I'm also apparently inadvertently a threatening cat strangler! 🤣

Shame as it contained some pertinent points.

Sometimes things need saying.

Chemo suppresses your immune system. I couldn't see my sister during her first round. I rang and face timed. Also talked about cheese and cats.

I think you're spot on , there @Raincloudsonasunnyday - he needs to pick a lane...
Although the current lane appears to be Perpetual Victimhood.

I have no evidence for this but my impression is that since her marriage Beatrice has found her place in the world and RF.

Edo, comes from the aristocracy and is wealthy. This means he gets the protocol etc. but also means he can fund their lifestyle.

It removes the pressure on Beatrice from the media about earning a living etc. Her low key Covid wedding was a really good start.

I can see her quietly taking on some royal engagements as a pragmatic solution.

No. The King won't have that. She and her sister have lobbied to get their father back into royal duties and privileges. C3 is wise to keep all the Yorks at arms length, although it was kind of him to include SF at Sandringham at Christmas. However, it's about trust, and the optics.

MyHuckleberryFriends · 06/02/2024 19:40

The whole scenario with the Royal Family is weird at the moment. Rumours on Twitter that Harry hasn’t returned to the UK to see his father,it’s a cover up for something else entirely

Of course there are rumours, it's Twitter! Conspiracy Theories R Us...

Cat Cheese GIF

I could gladly strangle my DCats, tbh. One has spent the last 45 minutes chewing my knee while I'm on a video call. They are a pair of twats in general, inviting their bastard furry playthings in and puking on the one bloody rug we have instead of the stone floor, because one's dainty paws need a soft surface when one is coughing up fur balls and grass, and one doesn't care about staining and smells - human problems are so boring.

They deserve plastic cheese with spring onions and brown bread, the buggers.

See, if that was mine, I'd leave her there because she's a twat. And she'd probably read the Guardian if she was a human and sneer at me before puking on the carpet anyway.

I'd love a hound. My dream dog is Eddie from Frasier - lovely Parsons Russell. Not compatible with the DCats. There would be blood, and the Ddog would probably end up in therapy.

jeffgoldblum · 06/02/2024 20:14

It's two cocker spaniels , possibly the greediest dogs I've ever had!!! 🤣

wildernesssw · 06/02/2024 20:32

Next door's cat is a thug and completely dominates DDog (who is a bit of a wuss, to be fair). DDog has even stopped barking at the cat, because she is so demoralised about the whole situation.

The cats near my Mum's house, OTOH, do run away, and DDog gets very excited when we go there...

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 06/02/2024 20:33

Aw, lovely breed, @jeffgoldblum ! Do they like cheese?
