It goes without saying its only her business, however I found it odd that whilst 'doomscrolling' from sleeplessness I came across a couple of posts from US news sites claiming they had news obtained from 'Palace sources' posted onto SM.

We all know that KP is somewhat leaky but over something like this? (I suppose Maybe if the price was right?)
Or is it just speculation passed off as the truth?
Or, are US news sources avowed to publish info that uk ones aren't?

I'm not particularly interested in what she's had done, surgery is unpleasant, full stop, But I'm just wondering if there's a reason the story is in US but not uk news-if it even real ( which seems slightly unlikely I would think, but then you never know about anyone personal life).
Just found out odd and curious as to the whys

Repeating this kind of stuff on SM without qualifying it gives it credence.

I am not repeating anything. I am giving my own thoughts on the Princess’ hospital admission like a lot of people here are and round the world. I don’t know for sure. As I said originally - putting 2 + 2 together. I have no connection to HRH or anyone connected to her.

Ramalangadingdong · 21/01/2024 18:05

She must be missing her kids and they will definitely miss her.

BeaRF75 · 21/01/2024 18:09

And now, apparently, poor Fergie diagnosed with malignant melanoma...... it never rains, but it pours!

Oh dear , sorry to read that and wish her all the best .

You may well have put 2+2 together and
made 5 though

I find it odd they choose this moment to release that news. I hope Kate is okay. Where are the updates on her recovery?

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 21/01/2024 18:57

If she does have IBD, and I hope she doesn't because it's fucking awful, she may have been able to control symptoms to a degree by just not eating or drinking for several hours beforehand, and judicious use of immodium.

I have IBD and have had to do that on occasion. Immodium very much not recommended, but sometimes okayed for important events - I once took it for a funeral, under Dr's advice.

They said at the outset that, to respect her privacy, there would be no updates unless there were something significant to report. So I expect the next update will be confirmation that she has left hospital

I didn’t say I was right

CakedUpHigh · 21/01/2024 23:01

I thought this was going to be about prisoners of war being sterilised, I feel cheated. I thought it was a discussion about proper news.

No, but if someone uses the phrase “putting 2 and 2 together”, it implies heavily that they think they are right. Hence we also have the phrase “putting 2 and 2 together and making 5”. Of which there seems to be an awful lot with regard to what may be the reason for the Princess’ surgery

RedRosesPinkLilies · 22/01/2024 08:02

I think if it was a hysterectomy they would just have said that. It would be a way of supporting other women in the same situation
its also a long time to be in hospital after a hysterectomy
I hope whatever it is, is a success

User3563573 · 22/01/2024 08:45

What's very odd is that this thread with the word hysterectomy in the title has been allowed to stand and was never deleted. Most likely because it isn't true and there are some benefits to enabling wild speculation so that everything written here becomes wildly unbelievable.

Near the very beginning of this thread, one user wrote the actual surgery name and how it was "well known" within certain circles. That comment was deleted within minutes, probably because it's the true one.

Are you suggesting that MNHQ has a hotline to Kensington Palace? 😆

MaturingCheeseball · 22/01/2024 09:16

@GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut - interestingly my consultant recommended Imodium - in fact I have (generic) on prescription. Coincidentally I have a flare-up today Sad - never know how long it’s going to last or the severity - the thought of going and doing an official engagement…. I just couldn’t contemplate it.

I find this desire to see shady conspiracies everywhere, in this case secret collaboration between 'the palace' and 'the media', to be quite amusing.

Maybe a woman is receiving medical treatment and prefers not to reveal the reason to the world and his aunt. As is her right. Could be that it's as simple as that.

I recently spoke to MN about some of the language used online here relating to a member of the RF and I was surprised to hear them say it's not against their terms. I actually think that it shows a not very nice side to MN and wonder if it is just for the hits.

No conspiracy re my post being removed, I asked for it to be removed when people seemed cross about it.

The Duchess of York has been diagnosed with skin cancer, has had several moles removed, been having reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy. The Duchess received the diagnosis just days after Christmas. Since then, she has spent time recuperating at the MAYRLIFE clinic, a medical spa in Austria.

The spokesman told The Telegraph that the Duchess was “very resilient” and determined to carry on, despite everything that had been thrown at her.
She is being treated by Dr Andrew Furness, consultant medical oncologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, and Catherine Borysiewicz, consultant dermatologist at the King Edward VII Hospital in London.

Last month, she was permitted to join the Royal family on the traditional Christmas Day walk to church at Sandringham.

It was the first time in more than 30 years that the Duchess had been allowed to join the high-profile outing and was considered a clear sign that she had been welcomed back into the fold by the King.
The monarch, 75, is said to appreciate the loyalty she has shown to her ex-husband, the Duke of York, with whom she still lives at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

She continued to champion him throughout the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal as he faced a civil lawsuit from victim Virginia Giuffre.

She's been very open about her health struggles with lots of info from the spokesman.

Poor old fergie that’s such a shame. I wasn’t her biggest fan back in the day, but I liked seeing her at her daughter’s weddings and at Christmas. I must be getting soft in my old age.

No. It was just that you seemed quite sure in your original post that you knew what was wrong with the Princess. If that was not your intention then I apologise but that was the impression I got from your post and your talking about putting 2 and 2 together. That to me suggests more “certainty”than “possibility”. And you also said you were not speculating but of courses you are. As are many others. I am just observing that no one knows what is wrong with her. Which I am also allowed to do. That is not being the thought police
