It goes without saying its only her business, however I found it odd that whilst 'doomscrolling' from sleeplessness I came across a couple of posts from US news sites claiming they had news obtained from 'Palace sources' posted onto SM.

We all know that KP is somewhat leaky but over something like this? (I suppose Maybe if the price was right?)
Or is it just speculation passed off as the truth?
Or, are US news sources avowed to publish info that uk ones aren't?

I'm not particularly interested in what she's had done, surgery is unpleasant, full stop, But I'm just wondering if there's a reason the story is in US but not uk news-if it even real ( which seems slightly unlikely I would think, but then you never know about anyone personal life).
Just found out odd and curious as to the whys

@User3563573 But if it was to protect the children that's not working either. The older ones will surely be hearing about the speculation too. Their friends will have phones....

Buckingham palace are just feeding it with their continued silence. Ofc people will want to know, it’s human nature.

Hollyhead · 20/01/2024 08:10

I honestly think by the timing of it that she went in for something really routine that was likely to have been able to be kept under the radar, and the something went very wrong (like a bleed/reaction to anesthetiser) and she’s actually quite poorly. She went in Monday and it was announced Tuesday afternoon, I really think it was meant to be a home the next day thing and no one ever knowing. I suspect when the announcement was made maybe she was too ill to consent to which details were being released which is how the public statement ended up being weirdly detailed but wide open to speculation.

DontBeAPrickDarren · 20/01/2024 08:10

Maybe Charles’ condition isn’t as benign as has been reported and it suits BP to have the attention on Kate.

FarleyHatcherEsq · 20/01/2024 08:12

It's a bulimia related stomach issue. I think they will have to operate to save her stomach as the lining has gone. Is my theory. Feel horrible typing that but its what the evidence points to.

You clearly want to know, because you've posted three times, on this thread only, that BP should provide information about it.

She doesn't owe you an explanation. You are not entitled to someone else's medical records.

BoohooWoohoo · 20/01/2024 08:14

I saw a TikTok where a US doctor said the medical groups on FB had been speculating on what the surgery was and these were seen as the most likely. She wanted confirmation from UK doctors about the lengths of stay for certain procedures because she knew that it differs from country to country.

What evidence? This is another vile theory I have seen floating around. I am waiting for the plasters on her fingers blah blah blah.

Look at her family, all very slim and toned women. Her being slim doesn't mean bulimia.

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 20/01/2024 08:14

I would be disappointed in BP if they gave details of the surgery, she should be allowed her privacy (for once) and there's no conceivable public interest angle like with Boris or Charles. People like OP are ghouls.

Is it though? If you heard a colleague was off work after having surgery would you be on a mission to find out exactly what the surgery was? Especially after a manager said something like Nicola's going to be off for a couple of months and would prefer not to discuss it. Would you then think sod that! I'm only human - I want to know exactly what op she's had?!

If that is the case, it’s incredibly serious and would explain the extremely long recovery time and reluctance to publicise. I was warned it is extremely painful too. ( I am a recovered bulimic. Also had AN) It can be life threatening.

What absolute nonsense.

She isn’t just anyone though is she, Kate is the future Queen. Public interest and concern is to be expected.

duckpancakes · 20/01/2024 08:16

@FarleyHatcherEsq Why are you playing guess the surgery?

Exactly. I think it's disgusting behaviour to be playing guess the surgery

That means nothing. Eating disorders run in families.

FarleyHatcherEsq · 20/01/2024 08:18

If it is bulimia then it's really bloody shocking that this has been an issue for both Diana and Kate. The pressure of that life, the rigidity, the fact that you have to overlook affairs which is so outdated. My number one reason to get rid of the royal family is that none of them look happy and it's damaging for all involved, especially the kids.

That's so unethical. She should be struck off.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 20/01/2024 08:21

You're protesting about SM posts on this OP, yet you've started a thread here, detailing the supposed procedure on MN.🙄

Is the 'evidence' that she's thin? Confused

I see I misread you - I thought you referred to 'in the public interest'. 'Public interest' is just another way of saying nosiness basically.
She's entitled to privacy about her own body. Is that so hard to grasp?

She is the future Queen. I don’t need to explain to you what that means.

No, generally the RF have not been entitled to privacy actually. You don’t have to agree with it, but it’s long been the case historically.

Grandmasswag · 20/01/2024 08:31

The bulimia rumours are so ridiculous it borders on being funny. The ‘evidence’ is that she’s slim and that she’s had plasters on her hands in various different places. Jesus.
