It goes without saying its only her business, however I found it odd that whilst 'doomscrolling' from sleeplessness I came across a couple of posts from US news sites claiming they had news obtained from 'Palace sources' posted onto SM.

We all know that KP is somewhat leaky but over something like this? (I suppose Maybe if the price was right?)
Or is it just speculation passed off as the truth?
Or, are US news sources avowed to publish info that uk ones aren't?

I'm not particularly interested in what she's had done, surgery is unpleasant, full stop, But I'm just wondering if there's a reason the story is in US but not uk news-if it even real ( which seems slightly unlikely I would think, but then you never know about anyone personal life).
Just found out odd and curious as to the whys

She's bound to be slimmer than when she was younger. She will be eating better, drinking far less alcohol and has the benefit of a personal trainer or two.

It's a bit like all those posts saying that William's alleged affair is 'all over the foreign press'. When pushed, the most these people can come up with is some gossip magazines recycling the same unsubstantiated rumours that are freely discussed here, including on this very forum. The 'foreign press' has no information not available to British readers. And in an Internet age when just about any source in any country is available at a click, stories can't be hidden quite so easily.

The reason the US press perpetuated the affair story was The First Amendment and different libel laws. The UK papers (prompted by Dan Wootten) started the story, but having found nothing to substantiate it, stopped talking about it because they could not find any evidence to defend themselves in the event of a libel accusation The US press had no such restriction. That's why it looked like the UK was covering up a story that the foreign press was willing to write. It had nothing to do with a truth being covered up, and everything to do with risk management over a story that had no legal justification. .

Seems they sure want someone to visit.

It's a bulimia related stomach issue. I think they will have to operate to save her stomach as the lining has gone. Is my theory. Feel horrible typing that but its what the evidence points to.

What evidence ?

MoneyMoneyMoneyy · 21/01/2024 06:57

Putting 2 and 2 together I think the Princess has IBD and the surgery is related to that. I feel extremely sorry for her if that is the case as I knew a sufferer of this and it was horrible. This was quite a while ago and treatments have come a long way. But if it’s landed HRH in hospital that is truly horrible. I wish her all the best.

Well whoever wrote that knows nothing about how the RF goes about charity work, and how they don't send substitutes

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 21/01/2024 07:52

They also don’t understand the meaning of “planned” surgery - which doesn’t mean planned months in advance, and doesn’t mean it’s not urgently required at short notice, it just means it wasn’t an emergency situation (like you might have after an accident, having been blue lit to hospital).

RoséProsecco · 21/01/2024 08:54

I just find it strange how she was happy to be open about being pregnant so early on (in the first trimester) when most people wouldn't announce anything until 12 weeks or more.

But silence about this.

No-one would have noticed if she wasn't seen in public for a few weeks.

Her body, her choice.

I do t think that’s strange at all - we all have the individual right to decide about each single thing that happens to us whether we want to tell others about it or not. It’s not a case of you decide once to open up about something then your business is public property for all from that point onwards .

She suffered from HG in each pregnancy and was hospitalised with George so didn’t have much choice in the early announcements.

Mylovelygreendress · 21/01/2024 09:07

And of course people would have noticed ! Contrary to what posters on here think , she had engagements arranged for January and February.

MagentaRocks · 21/01/2024 09:13

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 20/01/2024 08:14

I would be disappointed in BP if they gave details of the surgery, she should be allowed her privacy (for once) and there's no conceivable public interest angle like with Boris or Charles. People like OP are ghouls.

This. Yes she is part of the royal family but that doesn’t mean all her private information is fair game. She wants to keep her medical information private so people should respect that.

Exactly. And even if Joe Public wouldn’t have noticed, the press certainly would as she would have been expected to turn up at these events.

I know people have this idea that those in the public eye have a voice and should use it or that somehow they think they have a right to know about the royal family but if this is something like IBD as so many are speculating then I can really understand why she wants her medical info to be private. My teenage dd has IBD, it’s been horrendous for her she’s been devastated and it was hard to come to terms with, she was hugely embarrassed for the first year and it took away her self confidence and she needed her privacy. I really think She should just be left alone and if we never know the reason for her surgery it doesn’t affect any of us at all so why does anyone need to know

padmorn · 21/01/2024 10:20

If she has IBD would that not have had an impact on all those engagements she does! I know relatives with this and they are at rules by if it's a good or bad day and sometimes can't leave the house but Kate shows up to all her engagements looking fab.

There's a real spectrum with IBD, much of DH's family are affected. DH lives a normal life, he's had three flares over 20 years but generally very well with no symptoms and no meds, his father was well controlled for decades but then had a severe flare and a planned ( technically but it was urgent) colectomy. Other friends have had a much stormier time with regular flares and steroid courses.

it could explain why HRH has been viewed, perhaps incorrectly, as being lazy….possibly she has been dealing with an illness for years that the public knew nothing about

MoneyMoneyMoneyy · 21/01/2024 11:55

Poor woman if she has

There was comments on SM last week because she hadn't turned up to an event, I think one to do with her Early Years Projects.

So, it absolutely would have been noticed.

Jesus fecking Christ - no depth left unplumbed: lazy?! Wow. Here's a woman with very little privacy whose life is picked over by other women in such insidious ways.

pilates · 21/01/2024 12:57

I know there have been some really horrible comments on this platform about POW over the years and they have been left to stand.

I did not say HRH is lazy. I am reiterating that It has been a very regular comment by a lot of people over the years.

You do realise the effect of reiterating this stuff? No?
