Wishing, Princess Kate a speedy and full recovery from me and my family.
Looking forward to Kate and William doing their bit for the UK soon.
A great family that is adored around the world.

The PoW is just as likely to have a dose of norovirus as anything else.

It doesn't have to have any meaning.

GenerationSickNote · 27/02/2024 11:36

Amazed to say that Camilla seems to be really stepping up and doing loads, while the other "working" Royals do naff all 😂

Are the international press speculating and writing stories?

Maybe the UK press are under an embargo? Or promise of ‘exclusives’ once she is better if they keep quiet?

The U.S. press is not writing anything about it (although, to be fair, the initial announcement barely registered here anyway.)

Seriously ? Anne represented HM at a state funeral at the weekend and is generally regarded as the hardest working Royal. . Edward and Sophie don’t get much publicity but do loads . The Gloucesters too .

Delatron · 27/02/2024 11:39

If he was ill then they would have said ‘pulled out due to a virus’ the problem now is that it’s all over the news and they are all focusing on this ‘breaking news’ and speculating.

Agree about Camilla stepping up. Strong woman- she could have just as easily said she wasn’t quite up to it either.

drivinmecrazy · 27/02/2024 11:48

Seeing the updates of Andrew being present with Sarah 'due to it being deemed a family event' , that might explain it!
Hopefully it's something as simple and as honourable as this 🤞

drivinmecrazy · 27/02/2024 11:49

Though I doubt it!!

Brumbies · 27/02/2024 11:54

Delatron · 27/02/2024 10:53

I see Prince William has pulled out of a memorial service for his cousin King Constantine think he was supposed to be giving a reading. For ‘personal reasons’

I know we are not allowed to speculate but I don’t think this media blackout is helping speculation. Especially in contrast to the constant updates about Charles. Are we allowed to be worried? I genuinely do hope she just wants a bit of peace and quiet and that is the only reason for the lack of updates.

No sign of Edward or Sophie either - and so they drag in Fergie?

They really should have said something like this regardless!

drivinmecrazy · 27/02/2024 11:57

Or no sight of Edward and Sophie because they're joining William in putting pressure on Charles not to let Andrew back in???
Caveat to say I really don't believe that as royals they would do this.
Nice if they did though

Mylovelygreendress · 27/02/2024 12:02

According to the press , Andrew and Sarah were invited by the Greek RF .

drivinmecrazy · 27/02/2024 12:03

Or there's a meeting of the senior Counsellors of State due to a deterioration of the King.
Obviously not, just having a bit of speculative fun for when the real conspiratorial posts come along 💐

AutumnCrow · 27/02/2024 12:07

Oh lord, the sight of Andrew 'leading' (as the tabloids would say) that pack of Royals around Windsor is quite something. He's striding away, all puffed up, it's Andy Big Bollocks all over again. Ever-eager Sarah is walking ever so slightly behind him.

The messaging here is fascinating.

There are far too many 'alternative Royal houses' popping up in the absence of the real one. It's all excitingly Tudor.

drivinmecrazy · 27/02/2024 12:15

AutumnCrow Absolutely!!!

Brumbies · 27/02/2024 12:29

Seriously, since our gracious Queen Elizabeth died. The RF has started to crumble.

It's not a good idea to bring Andrew and Fergue in, to bolster the family. Imho all it does is show we're probably heading towards a very minimal RF or maybe even doing away with them all together.

Yes indeed. A series of unfortunate events, poor management, or a mixture of the two? Either way puffed up Andrew with that permanent pseudo- cross, pseudo-puzzled “I’m important” frown of his, is not a pleasant spectacle!

And the timing of Prince William’s absence does seem like a coincidence too far.

TubeScreamer · 27/02/2024 13:34

My guess would be an emergency with one of the children or a family pet which they don’t wish to share with the media.

GenerationSickNote · 27/02/2024 13:39

More likely Will's got lazyitis again😬

GreenClock · 27/02/2024 13:51

Something is not right. I don’t think that Workshy Willy is choosing to swerve work this time. I think that something is amiss with his wife.

Good to see Sarah looking ok following her two diagnoses.

Delatron · 27/02/2024 14:40

It was in Windsor so right around the corner from him. He wouldn’t have committed to a reading if he couldn’t be arsed. And it was such a last minute pull out.

TubeScreamer · 27/02/2024 13:34

I don't think it'd be to do with a family pet, though that would be completely understandable.
Many moons ago I was with a guy whose father was the queens household vet when they were in residence in Windsor.
Was at his family home one weekend when his dad was called for duty.
They (or the queen did) had their animals treated on site as much as possible.

Regrettably this was the only attraction of the fella.

upinaballoon · 27/02/2024 15:22

Re Andrew and Fergie being there today - as I understand it from what I've read, they were there because they'd been invited by Constantine's family and it really wasn't a case of the RF wheeling them out? Have I understood correctly? I haven't seen a pic of them yet, apparently looking very pleased with themselves, but that is not 'being wheeled out by the RF', it was 'coming along as invited by Constantine's family'.

EdithWeston · 27/02/2024 15:33

I thought it meant he'd got either horrible D&V or they've all come down with covid because illness is the most usual reason to call something off at short notice. Though the RF generally seem to have the constitution of oxen as it doesn't seem to happen very often.

Domestic upheavals wouldn't affect them as they have staff to deal with that.

Or one of the DC has something like appendicitis, and he wants to stay in UK as their mother is still convalescent.

If it's anything serious/enduring, then there might be more info idc. If trivial but briefly incapacitating/infectious, then probably not

ItsAllAboutTheDosh · 27/02/2024 15:36

@upinaballoon they may have been invited. But Charles is the King and can over rule who attends what engagement.

Agree
And why would the divorced for 30 years ex wife of a disgraced RF member be invited by the Constantine family. Beats me..
