I will remember to ask for evidence repeatedly when it comes to the Royal Family now. I will bore everyone silly with requests for it !

Roussette · 05/02/2024 10:10

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 05/02/2024 10:03

@Roussette not every post is about you. In fact, as far as possible, if I want to address you personally I will tag you.

If you could, that would be good. I will then avoid the sneery 'it's not all about you'.

My post before yours talked of evidence in detail. Then only minutes later the very next post was you talking about H&M supporters and 'evidenciary validity' so it is not a stretch to assume you are talking about my post.

However, if you are tagging me, I will ignore anything you say until I see the @ Rou.
Thanks!

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 05/02/2024 10:24

@Roussette ever heard of a cross post? I don’t necessarily look at other posts that may have popped up since starting to type my own and being ready to post.

Roussette · 05/02/2024 10:29

We post in a different way then... I open new posts in another browser before I press 'post'.

I have reasons for this, I won't bore you why, we're all different that's fine, I will look out for the @ to me instead 👍

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 05/02/2024 10:41

Well @Roussette if I am posting on my phone and leave the un-posted comment to open up another page, when I come back to the original writing, the site has a habit of updating itself and I lose what I have written. I have lost quite a few long posts that way, so I just get on with it, and if it cross posts with someone else, so be it.

Roussette · 05/02/2024 10:44

I get what you're saying, we all do it differently.

jeffgoldblum · 05/02/2024 12:50

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar , I too post only on the app! , it's a real pain sometimes, constantly changing my words for others and I don't see it till it's too late!
No edit function to fix said problem, and it takes longer to type out responses so you end up being late with your reply and the problem of disappearing text!
It's why I normally keep it short and sweet!

MrsFinkelstein · 05/02/2024 18:22

I'm not referencing "evidence" when I say this, but the facts are: we don't have photos of Meghan taken by paps while working on Suits, there's no photos of her outside her house. There are 1 or 2 pap photos of her in Toronto (1 holding flowers, maybe 1 with a yoga mat?).

1or 2 photos of her in London.

There are thousands of paparazzi images of Catherine where she is clearly surrounded by photographers and is obviously being harassed.

Meghan had issues, absolutely no doubt, and SM is much more a thing now than it was in the 2000s & 2010s, so Catherine didn't face that aspect much at the time. There may have been some paparazzi near Meghan but it clearly was much improved than that faced by Catherine.

I'm not minimising what Meghan has gone through, but neither am I minimising what Catherine had to endure with the physical stalking & harassment of photographers. Meghan clearly has luckily not had that extreme. Both have faced death threats towards them and their children. Both have had kidnap threats.

SM is a sh*tshow for both of them currently.

Brumbies · 06/02/2024 08:35

I'm wondering if she's had an ectopic Pregnancy. Apologies if this has been mentioned before.

mrsmingleton · 06/02/2024 08:36

@Brumbies you don't need that amount of time off for an ectopic even if you have the ovary removed.

Idontpostmuch · 06/02/2024 10:18

smilesy · 04/02/2024 21:38

They have been married since 2011, but she first became involved with William in 2001. So yes, 20+ years in and around the Royal family

Yes, I realised that as soon as I'd posted. It hasn't just been since their marriage that she's had the stresses.

upinaballoon · 06/02/2024 11:01

I know I'm not supposed to speculate about Kate's operation, in a way, but I think when it was first reported I was looking at a BBC news and they interviewed a doctor for a few remarks. I thought the small print gave his name and the word 'gastroenterologist' underneath. Now, almost anyone could say a couple of sentences about 'up to 14 days in hospital and then taking it easy for a couple of months' but I incline towards it having been the gastroenterology tract unless Kate's secretary sends me a letter to say I'm wrong. (That is highly unlikely - I mean the letter.)

I noticed that. I have wondered why everyone was assuming it was gynaecological.

You would if there were complications I suppose.

And what illness or procedure would that include? I hope it's nothing too sinister especially with Charles diagnosis.

Lookingatthesunset · 06/02/2024 14:08

Mylovelygreendress · 05/02/2024 09:47

Unfortunately @Roussette , Meghan has previous for lying which is why some people are sceptical.
Harry too by the way .

Couldn't agree more - and as for evidence, well it came from her own mouth, and was later proven to be untrue.

I don't care how you argue it @Roussette. Being caught out lying severely undermines an individual's credibility, and it's not even just once!

Lookingatthesunset · 06/02/2024 14:10

I wish at this point they would just say what surgery Kate had. The speculation over it is utterly tedious.

ArcaneWireless · 06/02/2024 14:28

The speculation is indeed extremely tedious sunset.

But that is entirely on those speculating - not on someone choosing to release only the information they are comfortable with.

There are umpteen things you can have wrong with your digestive system without it being a cancer. I've had a wee bit of trouble myself and looked things up and I read a little magazine put out by a charity called Guts, so I know that much. On one of these threads about Kate's illness someone detailed a condition and it sounded a reasonable possibility but I can't remember the details. People were throwing around the hysterectomy and eating disorder guesses but I just felt it might well be a digestive system condition which needed some help. Of course, I may be wrong.

Absolutely. However i have one v close friend and one acquaintance who have had what was classed as very serious abdominal surgery. Both had just over a week or in hospital, and were very much visible after another week or two at home. They weren't 100% by then and had to take things easy, but they weren't bedbound, silent and invisible.
I personally think that is what's concerning people here. It's clearly been something v serious; or post-surgery went wrong (i believe BP denied the coma rumour)

bed bound silent and invisible? Are you kidding? There is every chance she’s recouperati g fine at home and neither silent, Invisible or bed bound. Just as she’s not out doing the rounds so you can have a look at her, doesn’t mean she’s laying in a bed somewhere immobile. 😂

Serenster · 07/02/2024 08:23

Unless you’ve been keeping Adelaide Cottage under surveillance (unlikely!) then you have absolutely no idea of Kate’s current activities. None of us do. Because she is recuperating from surgery in private. Her choice, quite reasonably.

Dont be obtuse - silence to the public, not visible to the public. They're a public facing family, and the lack of visibility is unusual. Of course we don't need to be told whats wrong - but the behaviour of them all compared to usual is noticeable.

Serenster · 07/02/2024 08:30

The lack of visibility is unusual

Is it, though? In 1977 the Duchess of Kent, then a very high profile member of the Royal Family, was admitted to hospital for seven weeks of “treatment and supervised rest” after she experienced a full-term stillborn baby followed by having to have a termination because she contracted rubella while pregnant.

Princess Margaret totally withdrew formpublic after suffering strokes.

QEII disappeared from public view in the later stages of all her pregnancies. Didn’t attend the State Opening of Parliament, didn’t do her public duties etc.

The Royal family has been fortunate that they have seldom had prominent family members impacted by serious illnesses.

Another post on a thread made the wonderful observation that workshy William took the opportunity of Kate being sick as a way to shirk off for a few weeks as he would instead be doing the school runs and helping the full time nanny and numerous part time childminders do their jobs. It has bitten him in the ass as half the country now think Kate is in a coma somewhere.
