@Iwasafool Kate is young and always seemed healthy. No reason why she would need 2 weeks in hospital for a hysterectomy.
I don't know why this keeps getting pushed when it is obviously something else.

3luckystars · 17/01/2024 16:31

I agree.

Betsyhilton · 17/01/2024 16:31

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy about 10 years ago. I was in hospital for 8 days. So 10 to 15 for a Royal doesn't sound crazy.

GuinnessBird · 17/01/2024 16:32

I wonder if William is looking forward to a peg or two whilst Catherine recovers.

It's hardly surprising as she is famous worldwide and her husband is heir to the throne.

As an example of public interest you also opened this thread and responded.

I did indeed, and it did not disappoint. The speculation, the ‘get well soons’, etc. I haven’t read it all and I hope it is pulled.

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:33

@3luckystars We can see from other royals that they tend to spend less time in hospital than your average private patient because they can get excellent 1-1 care at home.

Perhaps his penchant for pegging has caused her a mischief

I was 41 when I had it done. Busy NHS hospital and as I said I was in 6 days but the three women in the same bay as me were still there, doctor told them he assess them in two days so they were in for at least 8 days. Doctor was happy to keep me in longer but I had two young children, a disabled husband and I wanted to go home. Don't know why a princess couldn't have more attention than them but either way we don't know and no reason why we should.

snowmobileon · 17/01/2024 16:33

Probably just appendix but the 14 days in hospital is a useful distraction from the recent and no doubt further upcoming news about the disgraced one.

FrancisSeaton · 17/01/2024 16:34

@Iwasafool when was this?

Jitterybugs · 17/01/2024 16:34

It’s only 90 mins till the evening news. Royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell will be able to tell us and end the speculation. He’s probably already outside the hospital with a camera crew. He knows everything about the RF and their innermost thoughts. Just to be on the safe side he usually starts with I suspect/ one would imagine.

😅

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:37

Okay kate is having a hysterectomy and staying in much longer than Camilla sis (she stayed in 4 days)
Just as Elizabeth only had mobility problems and Philip was perfectly healthy until 2 days before he died.
Some of you people will believe anything.

MixedPeel27 · 17/01/2024 16:37

I had TAH 11 years ago in a private hospital aged 37.

Was out after 5 days on bed rest for about 10 days then walking around after that.

Did take me about 3 months before I was fully back to normal though.

FrancisSeaton · 17/01/2024 15:43

Have her and Charlie been shagging?

Or, indeed, fighting?

Did one push the other over onto an extra large dog bowl?

He's retired.

DeanElderberry · 17/01/2024 16:39

A heartless brute on another board has suggested she's having a facelift, since that hospital is known for them. Two weeks for the gross bruising to subside, three months to clear any facial scarring.

Clearly she doesn't need any cosmetic procedure, but I'd sooner it was that than any catastrophic illness.

AInightingale · 17/01/2024 16:39

What a ridiculous headline - 'William left juggling three children.' Yeah right.

So the King also has to have an operation, on his prostate.

His job -ages in the same place, long ceremonies - must be bloody awful for an elderly man if that's the case.

Guidelines on how long to stay in after a hysterectomy have changed considerably since then. As with most surgeries. The risk of thrombosis and skin deterioration and loss of muscle tone is one of the major reasons for patients to be mobilised and discharged as soon as possible unless it causes more harm to be mobile

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:40

@DeanElderberry that would be the best reason.

FrancisSeaton · 17/01/2024 16:40

Maybe the pushing into the dog bowl spilled Into passion?

MixedPeel27 · 17/01/2024 16:42

@FrancisSeaton I would have been home sooner but had some complications. So I'd be amazed if she is being kept in 10-14 days just for a hysterectomy.

DyslexicPoster · 17/01/2024 16:42

Poor thing. Not nice esp with young kids. Must be hard as she just wants her privacy. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and she is just not getting the standard booting out ASAP in the name of "circulation". The pain, I can't walk - get out of bed and get on home, stops the dvts... 🤣

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:43

So face lift
cancer
chrohns?

LaurieStrode · 17/01/2024 16:43

I don't think it's untoward to wonder why a young, fit woman is having serious surgery, when she is a future head of state (or spouse of one). It's rather shocking and very newsworthy. Chastising people for being interested is ridiculous; the entire raison d'etre of the royal family is to maintain public interest.

With Covid on the rise and other germs about, most physicians would rather get patients out of the hospital as soon as possible. I hope she recovers quickly and is able to recuperate at home.
