@Greengreenpastures they have never over estimated hospital stays for any other Royal. So not sure why they would start now.
The Royals tend to stay in hospitals for less time than other private patients as they get such good care at home.
It may be something not life threatening, but it is obviously something that needs careful medical monitoring that is best in a hospital.

I find this sort of thread so distasteful and prurient. Aren’t we lucky that our every medical detail isn’t discussed on public forums?!

Me too, hopefully mn will review it

Why on earth did the palace tell everyone about the king's PROSTATE (what an image) but kept things extremely vague with Kate? Obviously that's only going to lead to more speculation.

@User3563573

because if you read the articles Charles asked them to to encourage other men to get checked

as to Catherine it something she chooses not to reveal which is her Chou e

And also why she hasn't been seen since Christmas. Planned surgery doesn't stop you taking your children to school.

You don't generally have planned surgery unless there's a problem. It's not inconceivable that, for instance, a grumbling appendix would stop her doing the school run.

It's hardly surprising as she is famous worldwide and her husband is heir to the throne.

As an example of public interest you also opened this thread and responded.

Tinkerbyebye · 17/01/2024 16:09

You know I can’t believe some of the nasty posts on here

Catherine does not have to reveal her medical condition to us, how long she may or may not have had it for, and what other treatment she may have had

some of the speculation on here, and the comments are just shameful

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:09

People are back to normal activities 2-4 weeks after an appendix operation, not 3 months afterwards. The exception is if you have other medical conditions, but Kate has always seemed very healthy and is young.

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:10

@Tinkerbyebye nobody has once said she has to reveal her medical condition. Do not post strawmen.

FrancisSeaton · 17/01/2024 16:10

lol at all the moaners knowing full well what the thread would contain despite finding it so very distasteful opening the thread reading the thread and taking the time to tell everyone off for being so dreadful 😂😂

Bye bye then Tinkerbyebye

Switcher · 17/01/2024 16:11

AAA repair is almost unheard of in young women. Does seem a bit of a mystery though, and of course it's none of our business. Just seems sort of natural to want to speculate.

Don't understand this feeling with calling Camilla the queen, she's the queen consort only.

She is a queen. You are either a queen consort or queen regnant. We never qualified the late queen as Queen Regnant Elizabeth II.

thegruffalosmaw · 17/01/2024 16:11

I'm wondering if its ectopic pregnancy as a friend of mine had planned surgery (its not always emergency surgery if caught early enough) and was in hospital 10 days and took longer to physically and mentally recover.

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:11

@FrancisSeaton there is a certain kind of person who just likes to tell other people off. A thread like this is manna for them.

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:12

Camilla is the Queen.

Winter3000 · 17/01/2024 16:13

She's been admitted for a fairly long spell all right.

magicmole · 17/01/2024 16:14

hellesbells · 17/01/2024 14:58

This, I don't really understand why they bothered issuing a Press Releases on this she could have been in and out and none one be any the wiser

It isn't just two weeks. She's also cancelled any official engagements between now and Easter. That would have been noticed.

legrandcolbert · 17/01/2024 16:14

MaggieFS · 17/01/2024 15:20

The full statement says she was treated at The London Clinic. Interesting, because that's not normally where the Royals go. I don't think they treat EDs though so those speculators can pipe down.

Re. hospitals, it depends. King Edward VII a few streets away from the London Clinic is one of the hospitals the Royals use, but DoE had heart surgery at Bart's, and PoW, not to mention others have had children at St Mary's.

My mother was at the London Clinic for various treatments, and King Edward VII f(or that matter). Many private consultants with many different specialties work at both. Usually it's a case of going where a specific doctor operates.

Mylovelygreendress · 17/01/2024 16:15

Surprised no one has suggested that this is another attempt to deflect from Andrew.

thefallen · 17/01/2024 16:15

Newchapterbeckons · 17/01/2024 15:43

My concern unless he is just being lazy - which I doubt - is why William is also taking so much time out - weeks in fact. That is a bigger worry. The rf usually carry on regardless.

You doubt William is being lazy? Really?! Both of them are pretty workshy. She is being given much better care than the average citizen, I don't think we can read much at all into her getting a nice long stay in hospital and her husband dropping his few commitments.

alltootired · 17/01/2024 16:15

Yes she obviously needs 3 months recovery time after 2 weeks in hospital. It must be a big operation.

FrancisSeaton · 17/01/2024 16:15

To be honest anything could be going on. I don't exactly trust the royals to be honest about much I mean look how the Prince Andrew saga was handled

LardyCakeAgain · 17/01/2024 16:15

Maireas · 17/01/2024 15:50

Oh lord, not everything is a conspiracy! Sometimes there are just coincidences!

Agree - one of the big coincidences is that wealthy medics like surgeons tend to take big holidays at times like skiing season, then all come back around the same time. My private consultant has just come back from 4 weeks off over Christmas and her appointments & surgeries thus week were booked back in Nov/Dec.

MacLaine · 17/01/2024 14:36

It won’t be that long at all. She’ll be discharged in a few days with the longer time period being a cover story.

This, or they’ve said two weeks and look how marvellous she’s done going home in just 3 days, it’s a miracle, she is wonderful. Cancer surgery doesn’t get 2 weeks if you’re removing half the abdomen usually.
