A turkey, absolute balls of stuffing or a right Christmas cracker? We'll let you decide. Please keep the discussion interesting, civilised and relevant - the Holiday Armadillo is lurking!

Time will tell when we see different photos. Often when people have "work" they do something to divert attention like having a fringe cut or a different hairstyle but the pulled back bun is unforgiving.

JSMill · 24/01/2024 20:42

ArcaneWireless · 24/01/2024 18:25

She was absolutely gorgeous before she started fiddling.

The side by side photos above are a world apart.

Now she sports a neugeneric face - in itself attractive to some I suppose - but entirely devoid of individuality or character.

It's really sad to see so many attractive women fall into that trap. They clearly feel under pressure and are doing what they can to 'preserve' their looks. Why can't women be allowed to age gracefully?

LumiB · 24/01/2024 20:52

Why can't women just be able to decide for themselves what they are happy to do if it makes them feel better.

I dont do both etc because st the moment I dont have any lines ...lucky me! But I do get grey hair and unfortunately even though id love to be one of those who never does any of that which is fake but it just looks shit and I dont feel great when I look in the mirror cos the grey hair doesn't sit flat. So I now dye it. But you know what I feel much happier. Noone is pressuring me, im not influenced by society. Its simply me looking in the mirror and not liking what I see.

So if someone else decides they don't like the shape of their face, nose or whatever and want to change it, go right ahead if it makes you happy. I could never say that they shouldn't.

mrsmingleton · 24/01/2024 21:05

I'm actually quite shocked that Meghan has taken this path - I certainly didn't see this coming. I know she had a nose job before but that is pretty standard in Hollywood. It might suggest she is looking to get back into acting or presenting.

BrittleVeneers · 24/01/2024 21:10

@LumiB Grey is not all it’s cracked up to be. I’ve been a natural grey for about 20 years and god it is boring. But I don’t have the money, nor can I make the effort physically, to have it coloured on what would be a very regular basis. Also, as you noted, as we lose pigment the texture often changes, and in my experience so does the strength of the hair shafts. Most of the ‘stars’ and celebs who have gone grey with age have not just let their natural grey grow through. They do other things at the hairdresser to get that pretty shiny glossy grey. They also often use extensions (hair thins with age). And despite what they say, grey hair does not suit every aging skin tone.

I’m way off topic I know, but I don’t think it matters here - the posts critiquing, yet again, a woman’s looks are fucking awful. Imo, the conversation should be changed.

DuchessOfPort · 24/01/2024 21:16

Perhaps she looks better in motion. I have been back to look at some of the other photos and she’s not doing her usual smile in many of them and she has a gorgeous smile, but it’s not beyond the realm of possibility for the DM and other publications to pick some less flattering photos of her.

either way - a few of these tweakments wear off so if she doesn’t like them, she can go back to her usual, very attractive face. She still looks great despite the photos - just a bit different.

Supersimkin2 · 24/01/2024 21:24

Meghan looks just like Doria now - only 20 years between them, too.

They’ll both always be easy on the eye.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 24/01/2024 21:28

@BrittleVeneers , I don't particularly enjoy this reading this conversation about looks, and have been on the brink a number of times of invoking Ross Gellar, but you are being somewhat hypocritical to scold other posters about a discussion they are having that was kicked off by you posting this:

And Meghan looked like a Princess. Absolutely gorgeous and understated. She glided in the black outfit she wore,

plus subsequent fashion related posts. Other posters don't agree with your opinion. They are free to express theirs as you have yours.

There's a Meghan out and about thread for fashion comments if you want to discuss her uncritically.

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar There’s a big difference from saying a woman looks gorgeous and beautiful to microscopically critiquing, and finding fault with, their looks.

And I’ve not singled any single post out for doing so. Unlike you singling out mine - for what exactly? I’m not stopping anyone else posting but I am having an opinion on some of the posts.

I get it, you are coming for anyone who disagrees with Meghan dislikers.

Don’t accuse me of policing posts when this is exactly what you have done with my post.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 24/01/2024 21:56

No, I am coming for the person who kicked this tedious topic off in the first place - you. You said the conversation should be changed. I say it shouldn’t have been started. I don’t care about what MM looks like. I care about what she is up to, but your fawning posts on her looks have kicked off a discussion about her looks, so we all have to live with that.

OP posts:
Gardeningtime · 24/01/2024 22:12

I think it’s fair to talk about the fact her face is different. I don’t see the issue with this. And I’m not supportive of theory it’s ok to talk about her appearance if it’s positive but then telling other posters they can’t because you don’t like the opinion.

overwhelmingly the comments have been positive about her appearance, but factually her face is different, she’s had work done, and to the extent it is noticeable,

and that takes me back to her confidence, as said up thread her demeanour is now very uneasy and lacking in confidence, clinging to Harry for support v the possessive way she used to,

I do wonder if the changing her face is part of that loss of confidence.

she does favour that severe bun, and maybe as she’s in Jamaica, it’s hot, humidity can impact your hair, so it may have been the easiest option for her. But it did show all of her face, there was no hiding, and that’s why everyone spotted the difference.

i immediately thought she looks different when i saw the pics. Which means it was too much at once, as I’ve never looked at rhe likes of Helen mirren or gillian Anderson and thought she looks different from last time, I know they have had work, but it’s always so subtle it’s a gradual change.

Is this the ‘fawning posts’ you are referring to?

It’s been reported they were there with the CEO of Paramount annd Nickelodeon and his wife, Tracy. Also, they’ve been photographed and filmed meeting and talking with the Prime Minister of Jamaica at that same premier.
**
They were at the premier of the Bob Marley movie ‘One Life’.
**
And Meghan looked like a Princess. Absolutely gorgeous and understated. She glided in the black outfit she wore.
**
Why would anyone think bring at a film premier in Jamaica is ‘desperate’? Exactly what makes it ‘desperate?’

Exactly why does it always have to be oooo she was pressured or its what they all do in Hollywood. Why can't it just be she wanted to change herself and its her choice. Why do people have to judge her for it and say she shouldn't of done it and embrace her natural beauty. I mean who cares what someone else does to their body it doesn't impact me or a your else really.

Good for her, for just getting on and doing what she wants to. She will never do anything right in the eyes of most people anyway.

LumiB · 24/01/2024 22:57

And how does someone getting botox or whatever therefore mean she is clinging to her husband for support wtaf. Grow up

SqueakyDinosaur · 24/01/2024 23:07

I wonder what Meghan would look like with her natural hair. Amazing, I think. I absolutely loved Doria's natty cornrows-and-pillbox-hat at their wedding.

Mummyoflittledragon · 25/01/2024 01:46

I also see more of a resemblance to Doria now. This is the 2 of them from 2019.

Raincloudsonasunnyday · 25/01/2024 02:45

Oh fgs, you’re talking about a woman who absolutely LIVES for having her photo taken and printed in as many places as possible - in fancy frocks, in casual garb, as an influencer, as a wannabe, as a promoter, in magazine shots, in her own promo material. She loves it and lives for it. She is totally “Look at me!”. So, people look. There is no law which says people can only look at her and comment in a positive or flattering way (which is basically Harry’s entire dragon-slaying agenda, incidentally: PR only, not reporting). If she puts herself out there, she has to be prepared for the critiques. If she doesn’t want them, she can stop inviting commentary.

Gardeningtime · 25/01/2024 06:41

Thing is, absolutely she loved the camera and clearly wished fame, went balls out for it . But her demeanour at the Marley premier was very different to the woman we have all seen before..

the engagement pics, the Oprah interview, the mock bow on the docu series, that was a hugely confident woman who wanted attention, courted it, and loved the camera. That’s what we all came to know.

But her demeanour at the premier was very different indeed, her body language, her confidence, it was one of a rather timid woman relying on her husband for support.

what strikes me is Harry is clearly much more resilient than Megan . But he never courted fame, that was never his thing.

Quite frankly I think he must be a nightmare to live with as I do put much of the crap they’ve done down to him, but she was absolutely an active participant and enabler, a partner in crime, and does bear responsibility for her own part, the indiscretions, the mistruths, the exaggerations, that she personally was responsible for.

the fact they have went from hero to zero and failed so spectacularly is down to them, they had it all and blew it, but I think sadly it’s taken it’s toll on her. I can’t imagine it’s easy fucking up publicly and continually. Then facing the public backlash and being called out on what you’ve done. Time and time again.

i do hope she regains her spark. If the pair of them settle down. Stop grifting. Stop attacking, either publicly or getting someone like Scobie to do it for them, and try to do some real work. They may in time be able to turn it round. Hopefully they have some work from paramount or nickleodeon that will help them.

Really it’s just all went too far now. Endgame, the stupid announcement on the high speed pap chase that never was, just being the latest in a long list of seriously stupid things to do.

QueenOfHertz · 25/01/2024 07:08

God, I feel like I’ve gone back to 2021. And this thread had been so calm and considered before.

Chouxpastryishard · 25/01/2024 07:41

What I notice is that the hosts or whoever they are don’t look like they’re best pleased about H and M being there. They’re anti monarchist and yet this Prince who isn’t really a member of the RF anyway now , rocks up with his attention seeking wife just so they can be photographed. It must be quite annoying for them. Most of them aren’t smiling.

SqueakyDinosaur · 25/01/2024 08:53

According to one of the gossip papers, they were there to attend the wedding of H's friend Guy Inskip.
