compared to the top one which racks up 812 million. It comes in after Dahmer the Monster (63,500,000) and Peppa Pig Season 2 ( 63,700,000) around the 210th position.

"Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's unprecedented six-part documentary series on their exit from royal life was watched for a combined 62 million hours.
To help put the figures in context, 60 million hours viewed is the equivalent of 1 million people watching a one-hour episode once."

And he said he watched it too 😂 I wonder if he expected Netflix to give him a pass or to tell his version of events. Obviously it didn’t work because he got the worst portrayal of them all except maybe Carole Middleton.

Netflix certainly did Harry dirty on the crown portrayal, he reminds me of the sherminator in American Pie. Actually felt sorry for Harry

I don’t watch the Crown any longer.

I don’t think it’s fair when people are still alive to see not an accurate representation, but I may have to now, to see how they’ve portrayed Harry! But tbh I still probably won’t watch it all if it’s an unfair portrayal.

Princessfluffy · 15/12/2023 08:18

Are H&M making anything else for Netflix does anyone know?

They've talked about Miss Havisham, and they've optioned the book Meet Me At The Lake.

Both those fell silent during the US writers' strikes, and I don't think I've heard anything about either since, but presumably there's stuff going on in the background

It wasn't terribly fair what they did to others, now deceased, either.

cauliflowerwaterfall · 15/12/2023 08:34

I don’t think it’s an unfair portrayal, just unflattering & definitely not how Harry sees himself

Do you have a source for this?

What kind of question is that? Its clearly someone sharing their opinion and those of people around them. Its the same for me, everyone I know feels empathy and wonders why people hate them so much.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 15/12/2023 11:23

I’m not particularly keen on the pair but my mum loves them.

I think it hasn't stood the test of time. So many people disillusioned with the Harry and Meghan brand.

I think it is the kind of thing you watch once.

Viewing figures should be compared to other documentaries that are a one rather than Peppa Pig.

Some are disillousioned with PH and DoS.

Some are not disillousioned with PH and DoS.

For example, I think his win in court today wil help a lot of ordinary people.

rosyglowcondition · 13/12/2023 11:48

I think the point is that no new people are interested in watching a documentary that has been so roundly criticised, debated and debunked. Plenty of people didn't watch it first time round but listened to the various topics being discussed and decided (like me) not to waste 6 hours of their life.

Actually I think the point is that plenty of people did watch.

But like most news of the day it is a one watch program.

While you may not regret your decision to not watch it, you cannot know that the time would have been wasted or not!

Urm he doesn’t rule over us as he has no real governing power - it’s a symbolic role 😂

The monarch has a weekly sit down with the Prime Minister.

The moarch gets government papers sent to him/her every week.

How is that not a perfect setting for direct lobying?

Is the King supervising?

What a bloody asinine comment.

First of all - the Sun?

Really?

Today??

And second of all - compare within the same catagory.

There is not point at all in comparing the speed of a horse to the speed of a cow.

Vespanest · 15/12/2023 14:22

The success is more than the amount of views, even those who didn’t watch it still knew about it and most importantly for the broadcaster that it was Netflix. As an advertisement it had huge coverage. TBH even the fact they had a deal brought them Netflix attention.

youngones1 · 14/12/2023 20:39

I know it's not a popular view on MN, but a lot of people feel sorry for H&M and think C&W are bullies.

A lot of people here think that too.

However, there are many "loud and proud" in their derision of H&M who tend to dominate.

They dominate though dedication.

I find it so odd that people who don’t like these two keep tabs on their every move. I assure you, it’s very easy to avoid most royal stories by simply making better media choices. Why go out of your way to find, read and post stories about people you don’t like?

Bizarre behaviour.

This with bells on. It's so strange. Live is short why spend it obsessing with people you have decided to hate. I actively avoid people I don't like. I don't really care enough about anyone famous as they are irrelevant to my life. The harry and Meghan hatred has been deliberately whipped up by the media (to sell stories) and people fell for it.

They really did portray him as odious. I wasn’t expecting that. William was portrayed as lovely if a little hunched. Carole Middleton was the Wicked Witch of the West. 😳

rosyglowcondition · 19/12/2023 19:29

@derxa I do wonder if this is Netflix's revenge on Harry for putting their viewers through 6 hours of torture? 😂

They don’t like him do they. 😂

rosyglowcondition · 19/12/2023 19:52

@derxa Hell no! Rather ironic really 😂

cauliflowerwaterfall · 19/12/2023 21:01

Don’t forget Netflix also sat through hours of complaints that didn’t make the final cut
