I can well believe OS was an honest and credible witness when under oath.

This does not mean he didn’t try to obfuscate and deflect blame onto the two translators and his agents for the Dutch translation being based on an older manuscript. I think he chose his words very carefully. It would be interesting to hear his responses under oath.

I am pleased for everyone who won today and sorry for those ruled out of time. The media do need to be curbed as they can be racist, homophobic and misogynistic. I always question the accuracy of any reporting.

One of the difficulties for Harry and Meghan are the Oprah interview, Netflix series, spare and interviews. These allow us to consider what they actually said/ wrote and chose to put in the public domain. There are inconsistencies.

The big question for OS is does he have evidence to back up the original Dutch version of his book.

He lied under oath to a British court, along with Ms Markle.

I can't believe there was any mistake in the Dutch version as it goes through so many checks this would have come to light. It's because defamation laws in Holland are very different. I think this is evidenced by the fact he's basically got away with putting the names in the public domain and there has been nothing done.

@rosyglowcondition i don’t particularly want to speak about PM, but he is a central figure in the media, which is Harry’s mission to control; was accused of being in cahoots with Camilla in Endgame; had evidence given against him in court by OS (which evidence the judge accepted); and PM has refuted OS’s claims (both in the book and in court) in his statement today. So it’s not really irrelevant, it’s all part of the web that has been woven over the past few years by H&M’s dispute with the British media and the RF.

Piers Morgan’s statement is very telling. He will be able to say in all honesty that he didn’t hack a phone nor ask anyone to hack a phone. But the underlying culture was there and it would have been the unsaid expectation to get The Story at any cost.

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar My real concern is the misinformation and slant in Endgame and this long running dispute to gag the media and control the internet.

Is this a last minute card? It has the look of something thrown together at short notice.

It is a sort of impersonal corporate card and gives the impression that they are applauding themselves. I'm surprised that they didn't blur or edit out the man's head behind Meghan.

I totally understand. I wouldn’t give these two a second thought if it wasn’t for their activities with the Aspen Institute. I would also hope Harry recognises that privacy of others can be violated in ways other than phone hacking, and those other ways, whilst not criminal, can have the same damaging effect on the victim - perhaps more so when the perpetrator is a once trusted loved one. Somehow, I doubt he sees or feels anything outside his own sphere of perceived injustice. However, if he was a victim of phone hacking (as has been found in this case) then he deserves his victory and whatever satisfaction comes from it. And if it was done under PM’s watch, then he deserves all the criticism that is now coming his way.

I think cards with photos of yourself are massively tacky. I know the Royal Family do them but they are still tacky.

Well it's onward and upward (I hope) for the Sussexes as they go into the new year. Hopefully they can concentrate on making their way in America successfully now that omid's disaster of a book fades into oblivion. He's done them no favours.
