Meghan Markle's childhood and looks

Following on from the threads about the Princess of Wales, which have provided ample opportunity for discussion and comment, it seems only right to open up a similar discussion about Meghan Markle.

Let's start with her childhood. Do people think it was the way Thomas Markle raised her as a white single dad that led to the development of her personality?

And what about her looks? How does she manage to keep her legs so lovely and slim?

@skullbabe that is not the case. There are plenty of 'RF regulars' posting some pretty spiteful speculation about Kate - and even her children - on those threads.

Just stop will you? It's incessant and breaks TG.

just report , how this thread can be considered in the "spirit" is beyond me

Gingerboy22 · 11/12/2023 18:00

@Roussette and @Samcro it seems that these threads are indeed not against the spirit of Mumsnet which is very surprising to me.

Gingerboy22 · 11/12/2023 18:20

In that light then it's interesting to see the comments this surgeon makes . In this respect of course she is not any different from many other Hollywood people ( men and women) .

Meghan Markle has a striking face that is admired around the globe, but was she born with her stunning features? In this video, board-certified plastic surge...

skullbabe · 11/12/2023 18:26

Yes. She is no different from others in entertainment and may well have had enhancements. Although - it is very odd for a plastic surgeon to choose pictures showing a teenaged face vs one in its 40s as comparitors as some of the changes visible are as a consequence of time.

Gingerboy22 · 11/12/2023 18:28

Oh he has used many pictures not just the two on the front. He also compares her face to her mother's. Yes let's be honest, the place is awash with this - Kardashians, Madonna, Beyonce etc.

I don't agree at all. Having your teeth done or your hair straightened is not erasing your ethnic heritage. Hmm

Gingerboy22 · 11/12/2023 18:42

You are missing the most obvious thing which is what the surgeon talks about. There are numerous articles about Beyonce and J Lo with changing their features @Roussette.

Pennyapple · 11/12/2023 18:53

Havn't read the thread but I will. I started the Catherine childhood thread. I think Meghan had a privileged childhood too in that she went to a top private school, was very academic & her dad was able to explain the entertainment world to her very well.
It's obvious that Meghan is very articulate, eloquent & projects herself very well. It's not enough to say she's an actress that type of eloquence will also start in childhood.
As regards her looks Meghan is equally as beautiful as Catherine, she is very well groomed, well put together & very self assured.
I'm looking forward to reading the thread

skullbabe · 11/12/2023 18:57

So let me see - rhinoplasty, contouring, Botox and micro needling. The surgeon says that the rhinoplasty is well done according to him and subtle. So again none of these have erased her ethnic heritage.

Like what.

Samcro · 11/12/2023 19:02

Ahh so this thread is just another bash Meghan thread

skullbabe · 11/12/2023 19:02

Madonna had quite extensive work earlier this year which was very apparent when she was promoting her tour on social media - it does appear to have settled down over the year and after her bout with illness. She was so grateful for her health at her concert and this certainly seemed to be a theme of gratitude for health, love and family.

I’m holding hope that it’s not but it appears to be going that way

I think many would not agree with you. There is a whole industry geared towards this . It is sad that people feel like this but they do. They want to meet certain criteria that are deemed to be desirable especially in the movie business.

No matter what ethnicity, Dr. Aminpour will help you achieve the look you’re going for with ethnic rhinoplasty in his Los Angeles office.

So no - she has not erased her ethnic heritage.

Samcro · 11/12/2023 19:46

Madonna does look strange . Too young.
i understand why people in the public eye have tweaks.
if you’re photoed a lot, like Kate for instance you want to look good. So a bit of help with hair, teeth and so on I get,
but a woman/man in their 60 should have lines

skullbabe · 11/12/2023 19:17

Can you explain ? Her heritage no but part of her looks which is a feature of her ethnicity?

Gingerboy22 · 11/12/2023 20:09

@Samcro yup Madonna is looking in a bad way. She was very ill and I think this tour is taking its toll on her.

Serenster · 11/12/2023 20:30

Meghan doesn't drink

You what now? The woman who named her blog after her favourite red wine and has been pictured many times pre and post marriage drinking…?

rosyglowcondition · 11/12/2023 20:53

She definitely had at least one nose job and it looks fine. Botox, yes, but so has pretty much everyone and her cosmetic surgery is nicely subtle so no issues with that at all. There's a saying that over 40 it's your face or your figure. A little extra weight that she had post children really suited her and rounded out her face, but there was a lot of criticism around her lack of waist and boxy shape, so I think she's gone the other way and her middle looks great in dresses but her legs and face are too thin. It's a difficult balancing act and the constant attention from fashion pundits is unhelpful. I hope she puts on just a little weight and looks less gaunt, but being super thin seems to be the curse of famous women.
