Meghan Markle's childhood and looks

Following on from the threads about the Princess of Wales, which have provided ample opportunity for discussion and comment, it seems only right to open up a similar discussion about Meghan Markle.

Let's start with her childhood. Do people think it was the way Thomas Markle raised her as a white single dad that led to the development of her personality?

And what about her looks? How does she manage to keep her legs so lovely and slim?

Doria is in excellent shape so it could be genetics or similar diet and exercise habits.

I know you're starting this to prove a point and we all know MN will delete this but happily leave the one about Kate up even though they're the same; but it is interesting when the couple have made money from selling his family out and delving into their past that she hasn't done the same for her own. Why was Doria absent for so much of her childhood even though now she's the only one she talks to?

Her legs currently show sign of muscle wastage, that's not genetics that's Hollywood's latest injectable weight loss aid I expect.

shams05 · 11/12/2023 06:46

Is chicken leg supposed to be an insult? She's always had lovely slim legs, it's not a recent thing.

cocolocopocos · 11/12/2023 06:51

So do we agree Meghan is attractive? Or do some feel she is actually a rather ordinary and plain woman, who has just had an awful lot of help - with various treatments, surgery, hair extensions etc? It might be said that most of us would probably look much better if we had access to the same budget?

I think it's been said she has a lovely slim figure? But is she dangerously underweight, and probably extremely miserable because she is clearly starving herself with a serious eating disorder?

It seems a little unkind to point this out, but I'm sure people won't mind this sort of speculation because it seems to be de rigueur on this forum lately..

It just means skinny legs, no harm meant, just being silly. I have noticed it though, and how her mother's are exactly the same. She really favors her mother, who is gorgeous, they both are.

Rosiiee · 11/12/2023 06:57

I think she’s attractive but I also think she has the money to afford beauty treatments- skin, PT, hair etc

Just to add, I think Kate is thinner than M. I’d say Kate is TOO thin though!

itsgoingtobeabumpyride · 11/12/2023 07:06

I don't think you'd look twice at Meghan or Kate if they weren't married into the Royal family, you'd probably walk past them in the street without noticing them.
Both good looking women but neither are absolutely stunning head turners (neither am I btw 🤔)
I preferred Meghan's style before Mexit, she looked more put together, chic?
Her hair, I assume, are extensions? It always looks messy when it's down.
Meghan is definitely too thin, can't help but wonder at the stress she's under, telling "their" truth has caused a massive brouhaha.
I'm not suggesting she has an eating disorder as I suffered a time of extreme stress and the weight dropped off me, she really can't afford to lose weight.

If you are going to start a thread in retaliation for the one about Kate , wny not make it fair and just call it Meghan's looks?
As opposed to bringing in her childhood and Thomas Markle, Doria?

I've only posted on the Kate one once and that was to say that endless help with hairdressers, personal trainers, own pool, tennis courts, personal dressers etc... eases the way to looking good.
I would apply the same to Meghan too.

There is a thread about Catherine’s childhood too. So presumably op is trying to cover both bases. I don’t blame them. For the record, I cannot believe that any thread which openly speculates about a woman’s eating habits is allowed to stand, whoever she is

Flamingbow · 11/12/2023 07:38

There are threads about Catherine's upbringing and assumptions about her parents though, there's one active today even on this board. That's the point OP is making isn't it, no one is bothered about those even though many of the comments are nasty and spiteful; but if Meghan's is mentioned it'll invariably either be deleted or people will run on to say how unacceptable it is.

cocolocopocos · 11/12/2023 07:39

Did Meghan's childhood make her the woman she is now?

Her siblings are interesting - what characteristics do we feel she shares in common with them? Can this be traced to the way they were brought up, or is it genetics?

Did the fact that Meghan was sent to a Catholic school without being Catholic make it easier for her to convert to Judaism and then COE to get married?
So many questions!

Roussette · 11/12/2023 07:39

The other thread is called 'Catherine's looks'. Not 'Catherine's childhood and looks'.

@smilesy
There is a difference

But it's Meghan so I suppose it has to be a catch-all thread

Yes but with the help of a nose job! Same as the model Gisele.

Roussette · 11/12/2023 07:41

Not about just looks then, the OP has made that clear. Got it.

cocolocopocos · 11/12/2023 07:44

@Roussette thanks for joining in. There's a recent thread about Catherine's childhood and upbringing that has provided the inspiration

I think both the Catherine threads are questionable however you would do well to note that most of the people on those threads are not RF threads regulars.

Go andlook at the threads again. There is one called Catherine’s childhood. Unless it has been deleted since about 10 minutes ago

I think Meghan is stunning. Really beautiful. She looked gorgeous on her wedding day. I think she looks best when she’s slightly casual - her own style really suits her.

Interesting! Where did they all suddenly fly in from, then?

Some sort of clarion call perhaps?

This is a two in one then... only just seen the Catherine childhood one. It's new

skullbabe · 11/12/2023 07:56

In answer to your question - yes Meghan is a good looking woman. Looking good is part and parcel of the entertainment industry - she has the privilege of being able to devote time to regular exercise, good nutrition and excellent skincare. She has access to hairstylists to straighten her hair regularly with minimal damage. She can outsource many household tasks that many of us cannot. She is probably very strict with her diet to maintain her figure.

TheBraves · 11/12/2023 07:56

Is the ‘Kates looks’ thread as horrible as this one? I think it’s awful that either of their appearances are being scrutinised. How depressing! On a mostly female forum as well. 😔

I’m glad they both are actually very beautiful (not that it should matter) because it’s shows that posters are just being horrible to get a dig in.

Have people reported this and the Kate thread and mumsnet have left them stay? If so, that awful of mumsnet to do. It doesn’t seem very ‘in the spirit’ to have, presumably women here, being nasty about 2 other women.
