I'm confused about his argument that he wrote the English language version of the book but isn't responsible for the Dutch version. Does he think that translators re write books rather than simply translating them?

Has he said anything that makes it clear because his logic is strange.

He's clutching at straws to avoid being held responsible.

I just watched a This Morning clip: him throwing in that all of Fleet Street have known the names for ages the way he did and when he did, I think he was hinting at sabotage! That some other journalist fed the names to whoever was responsible for giving an English text to the Dutch translators!

Here's the link to This Morning. Just watched it and yes Scobie is a wriggly as a wriggly thing. Alison kept dabbing at her eyes as if it was causing her some issue or she has a cold. At one point she grabs her phone...Craig was great - really put him on the spot! Scobie was the usual crap -" I didn't say Stepford wife, I said Stepford wife like. I wasn't in communication with MM. I was in communication with her comms officer. This book isn't about H and M but there are 20,000 words in it about racism but wait it's not racism it is unconscious bias. Everybody in the press knew who the names were anyway. " All the usual diversionary tactics - "all I know is the English book that I wrote."
He's a snake and yes thinks he is quite the cut above other reporters and yes poor me I've been getting savaged by the press.

The person I feel sorry for is Catherine, who has to front up to the Royal Variety performance tonight with the world's eyes on her and the accusation she is a racist.

She’s going to come out like nothing happened, all smiles and serenity and show them how it’s done. She makes royalling look easy… and some people somewhere claim it isn’t. She’ll nail it.

The two translators are in between a rock and a hard place, they’ve had their ability brought into question but if they respond they will have their professionalism brought into question.

For now, maybe. But what happens when this is all yesterday's news? Where can his 'career' go after this? What will he have to write about, and who will want to work with him?

He's not happy with the fact that reporters are besieging his father - he seems to be very naive or pretending to be . This is a good diversion.

Meghan said she wouldn’t say who it was because
It would be very damaging

I for one don’t believe this information wasn’t passed to Omid - who she eventually admitted briefing for his other pile of tosh

So she has knowingly passed on information to this author that she herself has said will damage them

How kind

No rebuttal from Harry or Meghan
He really is a piece of work - they aren’t her family so she is just plain nasty

So in a further twist in the tale: Talk TV presenter, JJ Anisiobi (one of Piers Morgan's colleagues) has just said the royal racist is neither of the people named by PM!

He claims to have an impeccable source (someone who works with the Queen and who is friends with Charles) and has spoken with them today. He knows the name of the person. He says after Oprah was aired, all the royals were upset about being implicated, and for two or 3 weeks were talking amongst each other about who it could be. They pinpointed that one person asked a particular question. JJA does not know if the question was asked innocently or in a racist way - but he does know the person asking the question was neither Charles nor Catherine.

JJ is pretty anti royalist and really does not like the PoW, so he's not protecting her or Charles. He thinks OS has made up the second person.

I mean....wtf? I guess the RF may be feeding him a story to get the heat off C&C and discredit OS.

It's just occurred to me that the reason we haven't heard PH and MM's take on all this is because the one person they'd funnel it through is the person they need to avoid right now! They don't have any other outlets they can rely on to get their message across like OS.

Though no lawyer that's how it appeared to me too

Does anyone know if he can forced to disclose his sources except by legal order? I always thought that only a court could do that, but maybe I'm wrong

Even a court can't require a journalist to disclose their sources, otherwise the papers would never be out of them. However, to avoid an accusation of making something up, a journalist can choose to disclose (and lose contacts and credibility - no confidential source will ever trust them again) or take the fall.

Perhaps it's a trap set for OS. He's supposed to say 'no no, it's definitely ...... because I've seen the letters er Ooops'

Is OS in even deeper shit if he's named two people who had absolutely nothing to do with the conversations?
