Omid Scobie's new book

boxedandribboned · 04/11/2023 20:38

Heads up, Omid is back on the PR trail...

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/harry-meghan-author-omid-scobie-31362434

BTW, can anyone explain why he's Harper's Royal reporter when he only seems to have access to or report on Harry and Meghan? It's a bit strange.

Harry and Meghan's biographer calls King Charles 'unpopular' in scathing jibe

Omid Scobie's new 'explosive' book Endgame will be published on November 28 - and its description on Amazon says the author investigates the current state of the British monarchy

I s Nygard an associate of Epstein, Roussette?

(still good to know the FBI do seem able to convict some sex traffickers, at least!)

No. I wasn't answering your question. I was talking about Prince Andrew's association with him. He has been accused of raping and sexually assaulting hundreds of women but has escaped justice. Until now.

If you are going to passively aggressively refer to my posts in the third person and accuse me of goading, then expect to have your knowledge called into question.

I was not passive aggressive. I just asked why a phrase is continually used over days by you and disagreed with you about it. That is all.

SidekickSylvia · 21/11/2023 14:20

Roussette · 21/11/2023 14:00

Well.... there is another friend and associate of Andrew's who has been convicted of sexual offences. Peter Nygard

There's pics of PA and him and they holidayed together in the Bahamas at his place, and Andrew, Sarah and daughters visited there.
PA seems to make a bit of a habit of this doesn't he..

I've just checked the thread title. Is this post;

Whataboutery,
Derail
Sea lioning?

Because I can't figure out what Peter Nygard has got to do with Omid Scobie's book. Is he in it?

Roussette · 21/11/2023 14:46

What saga? H&M weren't expecting to be invited but 'a friend' of William's (yeah... rightio!) said W didn't want them to be there, when they hadn't been asked and weren't expecting to be asked!
What a ridiculous load of nonsense! I think 'the friend' and 'royal sources' have been on the cooking sherry a bit early!

I'm sure everyone will be very happy doing what they're doing at Christmas

Branflakesbreakfast · 21/11/2023 11:46

Where did the story about their birthday chat with Charles and the message from Archie and Lily originate from?

I'd really like to know the answer to @Branflakesbreakfast 's question. I'd like to know whether it actually happened. There's a lot of detail circulating about the call - rather cruel if none of that happened, especially dragging the kids into it.

From The Times -

Friends of the Sussexes say they want to change the state of play, and would readily accept an invitation to Christmas at Sandringham, the King’s Norfolk home, or a summer stay at Balmoral, Scotland, where members of the royal family come and go in privacy and can easily avoid each other.
A friend said: “I can’t imagine the Sussexes would decline an invitation to spend time with His Majesty. As of yet, there have not been any invitations for the holidays.” Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

Friends friends friends... it's all a load of made up tosh as far as I'm concerned. Whoever the friends are friends with!

So was the story about the birthday call with King Charles made up?

ALittleTeawithmilk · 21/11/2023 15:09

I agree @Roussette . I roll my eyes at ‘Friends ‘and ‘‘Sources’ . My favourite is a ‘friend of Williams’ - that ‘friend’ a very busy friend - every time something is printed about William being angry at Harry the ‘friend’ is included in the piece. There is no friend. If there was, you’d think William would tell him to shut up already. I suppose William could be leaking….but no. Because royals never leak according to royalists.

Also, from all I’ve read, Harry is equally as angry at William. Not that this ‘info’ is in anyway credibly supported either.

Manufactured bullshit.

The Times - isn’t that a Murdoch paper? Harry is suing Murdoch.

Roussette · 21/11/2023 15:12

No idea. How would I know?

It's all so puerile. Did they ring, didn't they. Did they want to go to Sandringham, didn't they. (very doubtful they did!) Did a friend say W wouldn't go if Harry did. Didn't he.

It's just filler for the particular media that are missing H&M like crazy because hating on the couple is a multi million pound industry. and there really isn't anything to say. So they have to fill in with tosh

AliceOlive · 21/11/2023 15:14

Then people come here to discuss the tosh.

Roussette · 21/11/2023 15:16

Yes! Hello! <waves>

Novella4 · 21/11/2023 16:23

@Serenster

Really?
Andrew being protected by the institution and reneging on his public promise to help the FBI is the ‘funniest thing you’ve read in ages?’

Most decent people find it disgusting .

Novella4 · 21/11/2023 12:51

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar

This is what you said :

’Whatever PA has done, he hasn't actually gone out of his way to hurt and lie about his family, has he.’

Clearly our values are very different . Andrew having sex with trafficked teenagers and staying in Epstein’s house AFTER Epstein has been convicted is leagues worse than anything Harry has done . Harry told the truth . You wish it were lies .

But you do you ….

Don't quote me out of context. I said:

Everybody knows PA is a heinous shit, but he hasn't spent the last 3 years slagging off his family from afar, and then expecting hospitality and attendance at all the plum events. Whatever PA has done, he hasn't actually gone out of his way to hurt and lie about his family, has he.

What I said is absolutely true. I'll wait for you to apologise about questioning my values, since I made them clear (heinous shit).

If Harry told the truth (and how do you know he has?), then the last people he would want to spend Xmas with is the RF. Even if he has told the truth, he has done it in the most exploitative way possible - through multi million media deals - in the full knowledge that his family have the policy of not clapping back. Lining your pocket by slagging off people you profess to love is not conducive to family harmony, he cannot expect to be welcome or trusted at a family event again.

Samcro · 21/11/2023 19:17

Whatever PA has done
just that line says it all to me
awful

Novella4 · 21/11/2023 19:18

Hmm
Clearly @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar you are unfamiliar with the ‘royal’ habit of saying ‘ we don’t complain’ and then telling their favoured journo exactly what to write .

See the current court case for details
Problem is the ‘royals’ are so out of touch that theses tabloid strategies don’t work on anyone under 65 .

Novella4 · 21/11/2023 19:22

Yes @Samcro

The ‘whatever PA has done ‘
is the key phrase and that was the point I was making

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar
when you say ‘ whatever PA has done’ you are dismissing and diminishing his crimes . Protest all you like , that’s what your phrase means .

You aren’t the first royals it’s to find Andrew more acceptable than Harry . I’ve seen it many times on here and it shocks me every time .

AliceOlive · 21/11/2023 19:29

Wasn’t this thread about a book? Isn’t this is a purposeful and massive derailing above?

Novella4 · 21/11/2023 19:30

Also @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar ,

the ‘but ‘ here :

Everybody knows PA is a heinous shit, but he hasn't spent the last 3 years slagging off his family from afar

negates your ‘heinous shit’ . Hence how you give the impression that you are downplaying Andrew’s crimes .

Novella4 · 21/11/2023 19:30

I was responding to a post . I didn’t make the post

AliceOlive · 21/11/2023 19:31

You promised you’d stick to the topic ages ago. It’s a massive derail. It’s been done to death and you are doing it again.

AliceOlive · 21/11/2023 19:32

Would you rather I report and we let MN decide?

Novella4 · 21/11/2023 19:33

No if you look back you’ll see I didn’t make the original post / derail whatever ,
I was responding to a post by @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar
So I suggest you take it up with her?

AliceOlive · 21/11/2023 19:34

You are absolutely responsible for derailing. You can choose to leave it.
