George's exams

Kate is not going with william to Singapore as George has important exams. What exams would a 10 year old be sitting in November?
I know nothing about private school systems so hoping someone here does.

One of the Bush’s kids (Jenna) was on TV so she would still be well known in the US.

Howsimplywonderful · 09/10/2023 14:05

US presidents for better or worse do use their children as props for election / re-election.

And US presidents are far more controversial than Harry

The US provides security for ex presidents and their wife’s and children (until 16) - (presidential act)

AuroraCake · 09/10/2023 14:11

None of them but George will have security for much of his life. Charlotte and Louis’ security will drop off. As would Harry’s. Anne’s has. Edward and Sophie. Andrew doesn’t have it but Windsor does. Most of them have the security provided to them by living on royaL complexes. Ironically not Anne.

MissElinorDashwood · 09/10/2023 14:14

The thread is about the Royal children (and the Institution) not US presidents and their children.

Howsimplywonderful · 09/10/2023 14:18

The Sussex’s live in the US, so it seems perfectly reasonable to look at the convention there

No it doesn’t.
The Monarchy is a UK institution.

Howsimplywonderful · 09/10/2023 14:34

Just because you don’t agree, it doesn’t make it irrelevant

How world powers treat adult offspring is relevant

everetting · 09/10/2023 14:38

Andrew does have security. Charles pays for it.

And since Charles would not even give Harry a bed for one night, he is not sending money.

Actually this thread is about George's exams I believe.

Howsimplywonderful · 09/10/2023 14:41

We know he wasn’t allowed Windsor castle, perhaps it was being readied for Tim Cook and the Wales

Yes.

It should never have been revealed that George was sitting exams. His privacy should have been protected.

Yes providing one bed in a whole castle was obviously too tough.

Diana said she did not decline security. It was removed.
The Queen reportedly wanted her to keep it and Charles didn't.
The story changed after she died. Suddenly it was revealed that Diana had refused security.

I understood that Diana was told by Martin Wots-his-name, who did the fateful interview with her, that her Protection Officers were reporting back to the Palace about her affairs etc. She therefore declined any further Palace protect, against the Queen's wishes - "mother of the Heir to the Throne"

Total invention by a crafty journalist, but got him a explosive interview.

By the time all this came out she was long dead...

I wonder if she would have excelled at something else if she'd been born working class. Women's football maybe or shooting. Top class swimmer? I wonder if she has any other sporting interests but I suppose if you get to Olympic level you haven't time for other things.

Similar for Andy Murray and what he might have done if his mother wasn't some top tennis coach.

Shooting? Working class? 😂😂

Anyway... wasn't this a thread about George? All roads lead to Harry and Meghan it seems.

strange isn't it. all the cries of they are boring. yet a thread that has nothing to do with them is turned into yet another bash at them.
I do think its because there were some negative posts about the wales' and that can't happen.
I suppose to be fair a 10 year old taking a test is not that interesting.

everetting · 09/10/2023 16:06

I started the thread as I had a question. It was quickly answered.
But some never miss an opportunity to talk about Harry and meghan even though they are irrelevant to the thread.

You would have been better googling!

CathyorClaire · 09/10/2023 16:27

But evicting him from a house he was paying rent on and leaving the house empty.

As a point of order he repaid the refurb costs with the public later being drip-fed the news that it had somehow also come to include eighteen months rent without increasing and even later being drip-fed the news that the payment was now also deemed to have discharged any further rental obligations thanks to the increased commercial rent potential.

All smoke and mirrors ofc because the property is never going to go to anyone other than a royal but Harold is estimated to have saved himself a tidy £700K or so in rent on the deal and as the CE profits would have been down by that amount and with a SG guaranteed never to decrease the tax payer got neatly stitched yet again.

Shooting? Working class? 😂😂

Actually sports level shooting isn’t particular an upper class thing. Lots of variety in terms of backgrounds in the Commonwealth and Olympic shooting teams.

What does stand out though is the family connections in shooting - lots of the current team members are children of former medal winners too.

A lot have full time jobs to support themselves alongside their sport training - one is an aerospace engineer, one a coastguard etc.

Different from ‘shooting’ as in shooting parties as a social thing.

Understood @Serenster

To be honest I think the finer details of security is besides the point.

They should be afforded lifelong security for services to the crown/institution since birth.

So does that mean you think that Anne, Edward and Andrew should all get lifelong security too?

Because they were also all born in to it.

FluffyCatBonzo · 09/10/2023 19:57

@wordler state schools don't provide this as part of their PE curriculum . As you say though family connections are common hence why I guess Zara ended up with horses.
