Kate is not going with william to Singapore as George has important exams. What exams would a 10 year old be sitting in November?
I know nothing about private school systems so hoping someone here does.

Politicians children aren’t over exposed and exploited in the same way as royal children. It’s not comparable.

Yup same. The Queen did send her own car to get Harry from the airport didn't she? She also still did birthday wishes and stuff whereas since her death there are none. I think she tried to still be a family even if he wasn't in the firm, but Charles and William are not like her are they.

Yes, I think this is the crux of the matter including why this thread was started in the first place. It all comes down to this.

People associated with far right groups have been prosecuted for issuing death threats against Harry and Meghan. Added to that the conspiracy theorists claiming the children are not theirs ( many of whom are also far Right) and the hostility whipped up by the Britsh tabloids against them. I'd want security too.

Neither could I stand to have grandchildren that I didn't know and if this was totally out of my control I would still make sure those children were safe and protected

Point taken, but in that case I will politely ask Iwantcakeeveryday to explain why they believe that they have enough knowledge of what is extremely secret information about the threat level directed at anyone in the UK to support her opinion? Unfounded speculation is hardly persuasive.

Holly Willoughby is a good case in point. I don’t believe that there was anyone here who would have thought she might be facing an imminent threat - but she was, and the authorities clearly knew about it. And acted. They have access to so much more information that we simply know nothing about.

Diana still had a very high profile public role in the UK following her separation from Charles - a quite different situation to Harry and Meghan following January 2020. She also was obviously the mother to the second and third in line, at that point in time. Two factors that I imagine had quite a bit to do with the assessment of the level of threat to her.

To be honest I think the finer details of security is besides the point.

They should be afforded lifelong security for services to the crown/institution since birth.

Something needs to change. Either change it for the better (lifelong security) or stop using the children for PR, giving the press access to them (no matter how controlled the environment) - they are creating the exact same recipe for disaster as they did for William and Harry.

The institution and the press shouldn’t get to benefit from the children if the children don’t get something back in return, even if they eventually want to leave.

I saw the cover of Hello magazine this morning and it bothered me.

I think the Queen was more forgiving. After all she never publicly retaliated over Charles public trashing of his mother's mothering.

Apart from Chelsea, I wouldn't know who any of them are.
