NY mayor cancelled a meeting with WIlliam but hasn't said why. Does anyone know more?

LOL the Cambridge household leaks stories about Harry and Meghan to the press absolutely constantly.
Carole ran straight to her pet journalist to leak all the details, they even planted Jason Knauf in the Sussex household to spy on them and leak nasty stories about them to the press
the fact William and Kate lavished such extraordinary praise and rewards on Jason when he fucked up so badly and was leaking to the press is proof that he didn't fuck up, he was acting under orders.

it’s the Royal Foundation that is an incubator of successful charitable enterprises, not Prince Harry or William personally.

If Willy is a mere figurehead in a charity manufactured for him it does once again beg the question of what he's for especially when royal charitable work is constantly cited as a strong reason for maintaining the monarchy.

Because the Royal Foundation would not exist without him, obviously.

As an American I can say that William's trip has gone exceedingly well everywhere except on Mumsnet. He's all over the news and people have been traveling from all over the US to see him in NY. Several were interviewed on last night's news.

I don't see life as something where we have finished being brought up on our 18th birthdays. The Middletons didn't have an influence on William when he was little, but he has known them for many years now and may well have learned much from them. Possibly some Mumsnetters come to a full stop on their 18th birthdays and never learn anything else from anyone, in which case I pity them for their lack of development.

That's a strange thing.
The Middletons I am sure gave William an idea of what ordinary people are like but Monarchy rules, I can't see that they would have influenced him in his position as an heir to the throne

Of course it has. You've only to look at the news coverage and the crowds to see that people recognise a genuine person trying to do some good and having the luck to be in a position to do that. Unfortunately most of the RF threads are dominated by a few prolific posters who support H&M unquestionably. They of course have every right to their opinions and to express them freely, but I can assure you the country as a whole are generally favorable, or at least not unfavorable.

@Roussette Maybe encourage the RF haters to stop using the pejorative name 'Willy' for prince William, before taking offence at my use of the name Harkles? Willy is not used in any affectionate way by these posters, and it is irrelevant what Harry called him when they were children. It is a demeaning and mocking derivative, and everyone here knows that.

I have always used Meghan and Harry's correct names previously but maybe I should also just get down to this playground level?

Thank you for saying this. It's incredibly annoying but it does make the posters who use it sound very childish.

@JSMill Exactly. Its designed to irritate and annoy. Hence my equally stupid and annoying (once only in a post) use of silly nicknames. Willy is only used by the haters, so its not with affection, and they are not Harry, who invented the name. Diana called William Wills, not a penis derivative.

I have never used any of those nicknames anywhere. I even feel guilty saying H&M but sometimes I get lazy. Honestly if that's all you have to defend yourself with then 🤷‍♀️. Calling PW 'Willy' sounds so childish just like the various nicknames used for your beloved Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

@Roussette I used it once in one post and one reply, purely to demonstrate the childishness of other people. If Willy is acceptable then so is Megs (Harry calls her that, and Harold. Will probably stick to H&M as I am also lazy, even though it sounds like a cheap clothing store

Willy doesn't even work as insult here in Scotland anyway. Lots of people are called Willie or Wullie or Wull. Now Boaby is a different matter....😂
