NY mayor cancelled a meeting with WIlliam but hasn't said why. Does anyone know more?

I think you'll find that William has already conquered America with the latest poll putting William top of the newsmakers. He's popular with crowds too from what I saw today of his visit to a firestation in New York

I've no doubt any visit with the Mayor will be rescheduled. If, and its a big 'if', one had even been scheduled. The only mention is from dubious sources such as Celebitchy, which is notoriously anti W&K

As for the war of the Wales. I wish the bloody media would just shut up on this one. There is no war except one created by the media. There is a family rift created by Harry and his wife, but that's no ones business except their own. As for popularity. The brothers are on different paths that don't crossover. Harry is living his celebrity life and William is living the life of a member of the royal family, and doing the work they've always done. And William will one day be king.

William is living the life of a member of the royal family, and doing the work they've always done.

While Willy and the rest of the royals are grateful to those who swallow the PR puff the reality is they barely work. At least in any way recognisable to the rest of us grunts.

This is a digression. Not everyone knows this. When the late Queen addressed the United Nations in something like 2010 she wore a beige and turquoise patterned get-up and she wore the two clips which had been given to her by her parents for her 18th birthday.

It has gone well for what it was, a three day trip to NY to announce Earthshot finalists on the margins of UNGA.

What it was not is the trip to end all trips by a "global statesman" that has "reset him" as a "sexy heartthrob "who had "high powered meetings" at the UN, and has "bested Harry" because he met the UN SG.

In other words, the tabloids have exaggerated this trip and what it was about.

The footage on social media is pretty impressive

Why does the tabloid guff mean that the trip has not gone well? He set out to announce the Earthshot finalists, not be a “sexy heart throb”. That the tabloids have given him that label is nothing to do with him or the success of what he set out to do in NY. How does the fact that the tabloids have exaggerated what the trip was about mean it was not a success?

Who was claiming william is a sexy heartthrob? He is an ordinary looking middle aged man.

Another one puzzled about the assertion that the trip has not gone well for William . From everything I have seen and read it has been a huge success .

Twitter is hilarious. I just think it’s funny when a certain subsection of the internet has whipped themselves into a frenzy creating a caricature of someone… and then they are confronted by the actual, living, breathing person going out and doing their day job and the mismatch makes their heads spin.

It’s a good week for the Royals, the King and Queen strengthening ties with France on their state visit, state banquet tonight.

In terms of Eric Adams, I would say it's because he has a down to earth, "man of the people" persona that he tries to maintain which is why he didn't want/prioritise a visit with William.

I've always found him (Eric not William) a bit odd and cold so wasn't surprised.
