Gabe was on s US morning show yesterday, I think it was. US media are generally bring very supportive.

This is such worthwhile organisation.

MissElinorDashwood · 10/09/2023 12:38

Competitors from Team UK were interviewed by an Australian news channel and were asked about Prince Harry:

“We love him here, you’ll never get a bad word out of any of us here on Harry. Look what he’s built. Look what he’s created for us all”

Reality Vs tabloid press echo chamber

Heart of Invictus Well done that man!

There are positive reports coming in from all over the globe.

It’s such a shame we allowed the toxic press and broadcasters to drive Harry, his wife and children out of this country.

Like Brexit, we’re losing assets that would have been great globally for brand UK.

Interesting, the sensitivities associated with a first-ever Israeli team participating, and on German soil. Obviously well-navigated by the Invictus team as there seems to be some positive press in Israel.

Initially, the games were only for countries that had fought alongside the UK in Iraq and Afghanistan, but later other countries were invited to join.”

There’s also a Nigerian team for the first time too.

I think that’s one of the things which distinguishes Invictus from, say the Paralympics, as it brings together people who’ve served their country in wars all over the world, maybe even finding common ground between old foes…

Pretty impressive feat of diplomacy…

Home game for "His Harryness" - The Prince and his Games

Prince Harry has said goodbye to the royal family business and built something of his own: the Invictus Games he founded. Here he is admired…

it’s bedtime for me (I’m on the other side of the world) but I’ll catch up on the Games, and this thread, tomorrow:

MissElinorDashwood · 10/09/2023 14:43

Fred Hargreaves OBE responding to a Harry detractor who tried to belittle his work and character.

“He didn't "Drive" anything. ’The Grey Suits’ did all of the heavy lifting , to set it up. The ones he was so disrespectful about, the ones who managed his appalling behaviour and kept his image pristine.”

Fred:

“Sorry @BeeDela - hard disagree. I’ve been in the room with him and his team. It would not have happened, or endured, without his personal drive and dedication. Of course it takes a team to deliver, but much of the experience and magic from a competitors perspective comes from him”.

I’m so proud of both Rola Amro and Claire Gibson - my good lord! Claire showing the best of the UK with her not letting Rola come last.

I know! It kind of freaks me out but I can't stop watching! Even hockey seems scary to me!

“The game ended, spectators moved to the next event, but they wanted to keep talking to Prince Harry until he had to leave. They lined the row cheering him as he left. He is loved and respected here.”

There’s footage available but you won’t see that anywhere in UK media…..
