But Meghan's job is to wear clothes attractively - nothing else

@JSMill doesn't sell herself on her clothing choices

Is that her job? Who decided that? Who said she is selling herself on what she wears other than you?

Or was she accompanying her husband to support him with his project?

I disagree but regardless, not everything is for everybody. I don’t like cape coats but love a narrow boot - I love Irregular Choice shoes and many people hate them. I have said when something Meghan has worn is not for me. I don’t go out of my way to say how much I dislike it 🤷. I’m not sure how jeans, trousers, tops, boots and coats are awful but to each their own.

Harry is the patron of the Invictus Games - here is a definition of what that means.

Apart from being "an important person" as per your definition (lol), what does he does exactly beyond showing up everyone and then (and flying by private jet)?

Roussette · 21/02/2024 23:37

The latest on this thread is hilarious! Meghan wears clothes yikes! She pays for them herself, shock!

Camilla's handbag collection is nearing £1M, we pay ! Sources out there, Google it if you disbelieve...

But let's drag Meghan instead! All ridiculous

The definition of patron is clear in the dictionary link provided. You might want to read it again.

Regardless of how much Camilla spends I think you’ll find that it will be different to some posters because her clothes and bags will be unremarkable and her smiling, interacting with others and wearing of excellent clothing will not be attention grabbing (for some reason).

He uses IG to shine a light on himself. That's what he does.

you could say that about any royal.

Yes - there is a difference. I know the Queen's clothing choices used to be about things like being visible to people - and not about being a fashion icon. To be honest, I bet both the QEII and Camilla didn't/don't have much interest in clothes - I'm sure Camilla would rather be gardening or riding.

Their clothes also tend to be by home designers and makers - but M preferred Givenchy etc. That's a bit of a no-no for British royals who are supposed to fly the flag (one of their purposes, which was never going 'fly' with M).

I just think there IS a difference - with M it seems to be truly all about the clothes - a charge I don't think you can fairly level at the RF!!!!

I did Google it and didn't see anything about the value of her collection. She does have fantastic taste in bag's though. I'm very envious.

I think people moaning on and on about Harry being the patron of Invictus Games are likely in a long sad wait for him to no longer be patron.

It's been 4 years. The Invictus Games Foundation and the veterans are clearly above the royalists social media users constant, and disgraceful harassment over Harry and Meghan. It just makes royalists and tabloids look very very badly. I may be wrong, but I think I recall them putting out a statement about it.

Their focus is on supporting veterans and their rehabilitation activities, which they are doing a phenomenal job at. So much so that IG has no problem with different countries bidding to host the next few games. Which is great for the veterans and this foundation. I'm very happy to see that.

An interesting positive ABCnews article about mostly Invictus but also everything else 🤣.

Nice!

The video’s also dropped on Hulu.

The word’s spreading!

I also hear rumours of Harry in negotiations for a potential TV deal for Invictus 2025! That would make a world of difference to viewership - I have to say trying to view the events in Düsseldorf last September was a real pain. Between navigating some obscure BBC website and some other obscure site on YouTube or wherever, I gave up half the time 😂😭

I hope the deal’s with ABC News! Go Harry! 🌟🌟🌟

Coronateachingagain · 25/02/2024 20:48

A TV deal would make a world of difference to Harold's purse mainly 😅 not sure changes much else other than giving them that additional touch of economic runway. The Invictus gig will stop at some point - unless they decide to provide significant funding to keep their name attached. Some tough negotiations coming up for sure 😬 the tide will turn, they will have to pay to stay.

YupIKnow · 25/02/2024 20:53

From that ABC interview "There is that third party that would never allow Harry to go back "as part of the RF - who is he referring to ? Camilla?

His brother? His step mother? His father? His uncle? The Palace? The Government? MI6? All of the above? He is a liability, that everyone agrees. The issue is how to deal with the liability wanting to do privacy tours for free all the time (and on private jet of course).

But he "loves" his family. Not enough to disparage them all in a tell all book to get some money in though.
The double speak is really funny 😀🍿🥤

I don't know who it's about and don't especially care, but what I DO want to know is this ... why is it being shoehorned in at an Invictus event?

YupIKnow · 25/02/2024 23:13

@Puzzledandpissedoff I imagine the creator of it thinks that it is all part of the same story. Harry must too as he sanctioned the interview so basically Harry.

For Me Devin Dawson GIF by Lucia Kaminsky

The interviewers are so weedy - I would ask him " who do you mean when you say that?" but again it is all assertion and insinuation and not being a big enough boy to stand up and speak the truth. Oh I will say this and that but just use vague terms so that I can't be blamed of anything and then I can say I didn't say that a few months down the line. Boo hoo.

skullbabe · 25/02/2024 23:36

I think it would make sense for Amazon to host seeing as they play a huge part - it would be a great for new Prime subscriptions - so a 1 month free trial to watch the games (and all the other programs on offer) then the usual latent non cancelled subscriptions should be overall good for them.

Yes, we are having to sift through rather a lot of goady nonsense in this thread these days, in order to get through to the interesting, informative posts.

My eyes are getting pretty good at filtering out the BS! 😂

Exactly.

He loves the VIP status his family give him, that much is clear.
