Do be careful
posts from this thread are being re written, as in context taken out and mentioned on another thread

What other thread?

Janiie · 03/09/2023 18:14

'How on earth can Meghan help what the media and the american public call her? They call here this already.'

No, I was referring to what they call themselves like when they released info about Prince and Princess Archie and Lilibet. Yes yes we know they're entitled <don't we know it> the point is, if you so very disgusted with a firm and it's treatment of you, so horrified at all the offences you would distance yourself. Cut contact. Yes, they've done that but you'd drop the silly titles too, no?

Roussette · 03/09/2023 18:26

This is the post

Just imagine the anger if Meghan got called princess

Your answer : I wouldn't be 'angry' it would just once again confirm what a pair of contrary hypocrites they were.

I think I made a fair reply to you saying it's not Meghan's fault if she gets called princess.

Ridemeginger · 03/09/2023 18:39

I think the point about the matron and her scoliosis is not out of place in the context of IG. After all, it’s about people who do not have perfect bodies (due to injury) making the most of their lives and living with their conditions in a society that is still hostile to those with disabilities. Harry’s unpleasant and unapologetic anecdote in Spare shows that he missed out on his mother’s compassionate example of how to treat others who may be suffering from the judgment of those who don’t share their condition. That he has found it with injured veterans is commendable. However, whether it it sincere, or just a vehicle to project his own peculiar mixture of heroism and victimhood, is something I am still not sure about.

Janiie · 03/09/2023 18:02

'You have raised the Ludgrove matron episode on a thread about Invictus'

Didn't you discuss boarding school on the other thread about IG?

Yes, it was the thread I started. A poster brought up how lucky Harry was to go to boarding school because it had meandered into a thread about whether Charles was a good father. I responded by alerting the poster to something called Boarding School Syndrome, because not all who went to boarding school had a good experience.

Glad you are paying attention though, well done!!

Oh potato potahto.

Whether they call themselves and their kids Prince and Princess or the Evil media do, the point is as they as NC with everyone and everything royal they should also say oh please no, just call us Mr and Mrs Sussex we don't do the Prince and Princess silliness. Bit like tights at wedding, all rather old fashioned and unnecessary.

'I responded by alerting the poster to something called Boarding School Syndrome, because not all who went to boarding school had a good experience'

Yes you did respond at great length.

So not a derailment when you do it, just when others do. Riight.

You implied that I brought in boarding school all on my little lonesome, just for shits and giggles, to derail the thread.

I did not.

I responded to a poster who brought it up. As did others.

And that's all I have to say about that!

ArcaneWireless · 03/09/2023 19:00

Yes absolutely well done @Janiie

You have come out with a quote I shall pocket and use in the future.

“Bit like tights at wedding, all rather old fashioned and unnecessary.”

For some reason that tickled me. 😁.

Look at how he got the piss taken out of him when he said "just call me Harry" when someone asked what they should call him!

Posters on here even changed their names to JCMH. So there you go...

So whatever they called themselves would result in derision because nothing they do is ever enough!

mpsw · 03/09/2023 19:09

Then he said "I was angry about what happened to these guys,I was angry the media weren't covering it, I was angry I got pulled out."

Hee seems to have been completely unaware that the MoD has (and as far as I am aware, still has) a deliberate policy of not commenting on injuries until the people concerned have recovered well enough to make an informed decision on whether they want to become potentially identifiable to the press. If very unwell, then it becomes the family's decision, but again one that they are advised to defer until after the first shock of serious injury

Medical confidentiality matters, and Harry shows a lack of understanding in expecting it to be breached

Especially as around that time, there was considerable (and pro-veteran) coverage in the tabloids (and broadsheets, and broadcast media) about veterans - it was around the time of the founding of Help4Heroes, which had massive levels of positive coverage.

Also, The Sun began The Millies (awards for military personnel) in 2008, and some injured veterans, such as Ben Parkinson, were honoured with their stories fully known

Maireas · 03/09/2023 19:10

No. When Archie was born and was plain "master" I thought, that's good, they want a more private/low key role for him. Omid Scobie posted about it in those terms as I recall.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 03/09/2023 19:11

@Roussette

Oh I remember that as well as I remember people changing their names to include the word Penguin ...

And that is a genuine, reasonable, justified criticism of Harry and his comment.

He's not the sharpest tool in the box, (to put it mildly)rather than a liar, which in most instances seems to be the case.

Yes, there were lots of penguins around. Taking the proverbial out of him again.

So for me, they can call themselves what they want. Stop the Duke and Duchess if they want. It will never be enough though.

Mountbatten-Windsor would be wrong
Spencer haha, that would be very wrong.
Markle would mean he is owned by the evil Meghan 😂

MrsMaxDeWinter · 03/09/2023 19:21

Yes, there is nothing that they can call themselves that will make them immune to criticism.

They are criticised for the mere fact of who they are.

So they may as well duke and duchess themselves all they want!!

So true
i remember the penguins, was a lot of really nasty stuff going on , glad they have gone

Maireas · 03/09/2023 19:30

I disagree. I think people would repect them more. Anyway, ain't gonna happen. It must be nice to have titles and all those doors open for you. I'm intrigued about how it's going to be for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, growing up as Americans.

I know nowt about the penguins.

I’m currently learning a lot more about parrots.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 03/09/2023 19:38

Oh no, @Samcro , as @Roussette knows, penguins fly among us still!😂

The Powers That Be have however stamped out some of the more ludicrous stuff.

Remember the "pigeon playing chess" code?

It was a code for posters to freeze out a poster they did not like!

MrsMaxDeWinter · 03/09/2023 19:39

Is that another code?

If so, it is pretty transparent!!
