Omid Scobie writing tell all book

1000 replies

CosmosQueen · 29/06/2023 07:23

The biographer of the Duke and Duchess of Sussexwarned that his next book will reveal moments that the Royal family should be “ashamed of”.
Omid Scobie claimed he was one of few journalists writing about the Royal family whose work was impartial and “spin-free”

As such, he said his forthcoming book, provocatively titled Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, would focus on the negative as much as the positive and would shine a light on “unsolved mysteries”
“Endgame not only looks at the successes of our Royal family but also the failures; the things to be proud of and those they should be ashamed of,” he wrote in the I newspaper

Just when will this end? I feel so sorry for their poor children who will have to live with the knowledge that their parents and his obnoxious individual were prepared to do anything to make money.

😂😂😂 Wonder if he said that with a straight face. He's the Sussexes unofficial mouthpiece there's no way he's impartial.

Agreed - see Omid that’s where you lose me. Fair play to you using the royal soap opera to boost your profile and career and make a boatload of cash with a fan-fiction account of Harry and Meghan. Get as much out of it while you can.

but don’t pretend you are some sort of standard bearer

She did actually refer to him in the past.

Well spotted. I have no idea what he's like now, it's been 20-odd years since I last saw him in person, and I'm certainly not sticking up for him now, because I don't know him now. I find it quite baffling and amusing he's so famous in his own right! I do wonder what he'll do if H&M and their friends (I'm pretty sure Abigail Spencer is one of his main sources, from something he said on This Morning) cast him adrift, which they may well do. I can see MM shrewdly aligning herself with other journos at some point, under the advice of Ari Emmanuel and WME.

LadyMuckingabout · 01/07/2023 17:14

Perhaps we might get a better story if he falls out with Meghan and Markus Anderson. There is a bit of a tangled and murky web of “friends” .

Mackerson · 01/07/2023 17:27

Omid Scobie used to go out with Markus Anderson? I used to think Markus Anderson paet owned Soho House. But clearly he doesn't. Hes "a consultant". A consultant in what? What does he do for them, does anyone know?

Maireas · 01/07/2023 17:31

Markus Anderson is quite the networker. That was who Meghan got in touch with when she arrived in the UK on that eventful trip in the summer of 2016.

He introduces famous people to less famous people, who would like to be more famous. A networker extraordinaire.

😁😁😁

What's in it for the famous people? Sycophancy? Can't go wrong with a bit of sycophancy.

How much more work did the Sussexes actually do? Meghan fell pregnant shortly after her wedding, and went on maternity leave months later. As for wanting to leave to protect their mental health due to press bullying, has it changed anything for them? If anything, they're not only getting bad press now from the British media but also from non tabloid US news agencies. Even the guardian has been posting articles critical of them.

They managed to fit quite a lot in in only two years actually - Grenfell, foreign tours, Smartworks, invictus, various appearances etc. Can't remember them all right now. And while Meghan was pregnant too, and after having Archie. I know you hate them viscerally but they did do quite a bit in a short space of time. But whatever, their leaving has caused others like W&K to visibly step it up and do more themselves. Because they really weren't before.

Well for years they have been, and are continuously being, punished publicly - by the royal rota (on behalf of the RF), and the media because of harry's law suits. But still, at least they have the freedom now to get away and do their own thing. Which must help their MH. We hardly hear of Meghan in particular these days. Yet the press still goes on, and on, and on, and on.... and the public lap it up. Don't blame her for leaving and don't blame her for staying away.

Maireas · 01/07/2023 18:14

Eh? Wasn't she at that Hertz van rental award thing recently just before the alleged pap chase?
That was very well publicised.

Roussette · 29/06/2023 08:33

I will let you know when I read the book. But as I have 'no common sense' I cannot comment on his impartiality, can I?

Interested in both sides? Ingrid Seward, Dickie Arbiter, Angela Levin... are they interested in both sides?
Don't think so! 2 of those spent 30 minutes talking about the OW interview before it had even been screened! That's lack of impartiality if you ask me!

I think that its great that you have something that you are so passionate about, But you are a long way from being impartial.

I never said I was? My post refers to lack of impartiality by the RRs, who lied

It wasn't that well publicised so Harry sorted that out! 😂

"They managed to fit quite a lot in in only two years actually - Grenfell, foreign tours, Smartworks, invictus, various appearances etc. Can't remember them all right now."

Stretching credulity just a bit there.
Invictus was already set up and well established. Grenfell was an absolute tragedy, a lot of people did a lot of things.

They did no more or less really than anyone else. Kate was pregnant and on maternity leave for a decent chunk of that, and her children were all much younger. I think it's quite right the young children of the heir to the throne take priority for their parents attention - after the shitstorm of Charles & Diana's parenting tribulations I find it strange people would criticise that decision.

Meghan worked for 72 days as a Senior Working Royal. She did work, but not more than anyone else, she's no more of an innovative hard worker than anyone else.

Do you know anything about the charity for women that she visited?
I do.
My friend volunteers there. It is a wonderful initiative and they really welcomed Meghan there. Have a read about them maybe?

Okaaaay, maybe others on here who rubbish it and her visit might be interested, nothing lost

Mackerson · 01/07/2023 19:32

Yeah, writing on bananas to sex workers - it sort of writes its own story.

Of course you'd say that, I only know about how her visit was received from someone I know who volunteers there

People in Trench Town were utterly delighted to see the (then) Cambridges - really welcomed them.

Didn't stop the negative commentary about the visit, because of how it looked to others.

Intentions for the visit, reactions on the spot and wider public perception are not necessarily going to be the same. And no matter how good the first two elements might be, it won't necessarily win over the public - whichever royal you are

A few high profile works doesn't equate to the sussexes being more hard working than the Cambridges.

Here's a list of how many engagements the royals did and Catherine actually worked a bit more than Meghan did during her pregnancy:

https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1222869/meghan-markle-royal-engagements-kate-middleton-maternity-hardest-working-royal-2019?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target

It could also be explained that the Cambridges ‘stepping up’ to do more work is due to their ascension to becoming the prince and princess of wales rather than the sussexes leaving.

And no criticizing the sussexes doesn't mean I ‘hate’ them.

Also, just wondering how you know that the
sussexes are being punished by the royal rota on behalf of the royal family? Can you cite your evidence? harry’s claims in court don't count because he can't even produce the evidence to back up his claims as well.

Yeah they have freedom now to do their own thing, except they've hardly done any work, have been mocked in the US by a tv show like south park, been the subject of jokes by comedians, been let go by Spotify due to their poor work ethic and was called ‘fxckin grifters’ by one of their executives, etc. And no, I don't believe Meghan has been keeping out of the spotlight, when she has her PR spinning away at new works coming up (hints of restarting the tig again), and the awards ceremony in New York where she (and harry) had her ‘near fatal’ car incident with the press.

Even rolling stones have now called them flops, who are now over exposed (like the Kardashians), and don't have anything else that's interesting about them except their beef with the royal family.

Meghan Markle at bottom of royal family engagements list for 2020

MEGHAN MARKLE is the newest royal mother of the Royal Family having welcomed her son in 2019. But given her new addition in May, how did she fare in terms of her commitment to royal duties?

This cannot be the case, as it hinges on misperceptions of what the Royal rota is. It's not some inner circle with mysterious privileges. It's simply the name for the press pool that covers royal events

To be fair you haven't found anything. You're just repeating what a friend said.
