No great surprise there... Would love to hear his story about Zooming Prince Harry, I can only imagine his frustration with the whining ninny!

Why does Meghan hate cats

She doesn't hate cats! All of this started because one poster (Not me I'd add) wrote upthread (quote):

"All I want is to be a fly on the wall watching her go off on one, wailing about how everyone is horrible and she is perfect and Harry is nervously following her around, bowing and stooping to pick up her hair extensions that she's ripped out in a fury and consoling her with "Yes dear, no dear, whatever you say dear...!"

She strikes me as the kind of person who would make a fuss of a cat when the cameras are on her, all smiles and fussing over the cat and then when the camera has stopped rolling and the door is shut, the smile turns into a scowl and the cat gets booted up the arse.

Replace the word cat with Harry and that's about right."

What then happened was that the highly sensitive interpreted -what is plainly a metaphorical observation about a personality type (pleasant in public, but two faced at home) - to mean that the poster was saying Meghan was violent. Which is ridiculous.

I pointed out why this was ridiculous and it has continued with more ridiculousness.

Move on from the cats!

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2023 15:24

'Kick the cat is a metaphor used to describe how a relatively high-ranking person in an organization or family displaces their frustrations by abusing a lower-ranking person, who may in turn take it out on their own subordinate.'

Oh the joy of wiki. Dear, dear wiki.

justasking111 · 20/06/2023 15:42

Well I'd never kick a 🐈😺. But Harry I'd be sorely tempted 😁

It was a joke.

Kicking but missing would be a near catastrophe.

Plus don't they own a dog rather than cat?

LittleBearPad · 20/06/2023 18:31

The level of comprehension is concerning on this thread.

Remedial English lessons regarding metaphors and similes may be needed

OhmygodDont · 20/06/2023 18:49

Sure the rule is don’t fuck with cats. 😂

Anyways maybe they should get hold of Mr Beasts Pr team for philanthropy or on basically anything. At least then it would be fun to watch. Can’t move in my house without hearing about bloody jimmy.

The nicest thing about M is she has two rescue beagles. They are not the easiest dogs to own so fair play to her. She actually adopted a beagle that was one of many rescued when a facility breeding them for labs was closed down. 😢

Didn’t she leave one of them in Canada when she moved to the UK on the basis it was too old to travel?

Has she reclaimed it now she’s in North America?

No. It didn't like Harry. She decided to leave it where she was.

Get thee behind me, Satan.

Yes. 🤭 I did sort of set that up for comments didn't I?

Dogs have very good instincts

She didn’t leave her beagle but she did leave an older dog. I’m a total softie when it comes to dogs but I guess sometimes the humans need to think of their own needs too. I honestly think she would have made sure the dog left behind was loved and cared for.

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2023 22:04

I've never seen anything to suggest the dogs weren't competently re-homed. Must have been sad though for all.

ArcaneWireless · 20/06/2023 23:33

I’ll agree with that crow

She, I think, did the best for all concerned.

Sometimes we have to make decisions on what is best for our pets rather than what is preferable for us. Hard though it is.

LadyMuckingabout · 21/06/2023 08:41

Apparently the “old” dog was 5 !! Harry says himself that the Queen’s corgis didn’t like him…

Agree about expressions and metaphors. On an older thread I mentioned someone playing their trump card. A poster leapt in to say with no irony that it said it all about me that I was a Trump supporter Grin

jeffgoldblum · 21/06/2023 08:55

I remember that @LadyMuckingabout !
I had to re read it , several times!
I was accused by several posters of excusing racism and denying poc a voice because I asked people not to bring up m on a thread about Harry!

Howsimplywonderful · 21/06/2023 09:10

I was listening to a podcast about Jimmy Carter, while he was a very intelligent man he was not a successful president.

His biggest problem was he micromanaged everything from the building of a White House tennis court to the rose garden and insisted on reading everything that came into his office so became very indecisive.

I’m going to give Meghan the benefit of the doubt and say she was incredibly indecisive rather than incredibly lazy. But if you’re the top of the pyramid not making decisions you really stress everyone around you and everything grinds to an expensive halt

it might mean she’s not cut out for podcasts and being a producer. She needs to listen to someone or work with someone who can move things along otherwise the Netflix deal will be gone too

ArcaneWireless · 21/06/2023 10:21

ladymuckingabout

I’m glad I wasn’t drinking when I read that! 😁

I think the Nobel Peace Prize Committee might disagree with you.

There was another occasion too where someone likened something to a game of Top Trumps and the poster was asked why they had brought the Donald onto the thread and that they must be an evil supporter of his 😂

Howsimplywonderful · 21/06/2023 13:27

@BitOutOfPractice

He was far more successful post presidency. Probably the most successful post presidency.
