No great surprise there... Would love to hear his story about Zooming Prince Harry, I can only imagine his frustration with the whining ninny!

it is pure tittle tattle
as is the majority of this thread tbh

I have no violin, not even a tiny one for H. He has wealth most of us could only dream of - he allegedly got the lion's share of the QM's inheritance but whines that it is tied up in "investments." He probably also got a bung from PP and /or HMQ in their wills. He was able to trade on his RF name to get a massive advance for a whiny ghosted biography and opportunities and mega contracts on major media platforms. For all we know KC may still be bailing him out. I think KC will always bail H out as the RF won't want "hard up" headlines. H can always come back do an apology and be welcomed back as long as KC is alive. I think H has been foolish to burn his bridges with PW. If all else fails the RF will sort him out with a wildlife conservation estate in Africa, which is what he said he always wanted to do.

As opposed to Harry's book, which is definitely fact-based and even-handed 😆

You can't argue with the fact that they signed a massive deal with Spotify, supplied a handful of episodes that didn't perform well, and have now been terminated.

“I want to hold a space for you as a guest to define yourself”
What does this even mean? Isn’t the guest there already? Then why does Meghan have to hold a space for them? And why do they have to define themselves? 🤨

H&M just aren’t interesting people. In fact, they come across as rather dull, self-centered, self-pitying, and a bit shallow. I suppose it is good they jumped on money-making opportunities while they could, because other than some sort of huge scandal I don’t know what would reignite interest in them.

What does it mean?

translation;

this is my show
what I want is the important thing
its all about me
you are only a guest
i am the star
know your place

TrashyPanda · 17/06/2023 17:57

their country, Harry - their rules

have some basic courtesy to respect that

and if you don’t like their rules - nobody is making you stay there

i thought the discussion was around the comment from the podcaster linked to in The Independent.

i dont know why they are publishing this bloke;s opinion anyway?
he is making money - a podcast - out of his opinion on Harry -what a jerk!

Because his insights are interesting

because Harry is normally the one throwing dirt at his family and therefore has created a lot of interest in himself

Freefall212 · 17/06/2023 17:08

Did she ever explain what she meant by archetype or what archetype
she was referring to?

She confuses the term with "stereotype". So in one instance she asked one of her guests what she thought of archetypes like "diva" being levelled against successful women who knew what they wanted... words to that effect.

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 17/06/2023 18:09

I feel another appearance on South Park is the only way forward. They could get a fee for providing their actual voices 😆

Charlize43 · 17/06/2023 18:24

I've chosen to give them their privacy which is why I won't listen to their podcast or watch their documentary. Everyone should respect their privacy, which is what they wanted.

Has no one told him about the War of Independence? Fought for independence from people like him. His own family in fact.

Howsimplywonderful · 17/06/2023 18:36

Again another reason to love the rest is history podcasts

they use stereotypes and archetypes correctly

I wish they did just stay in the RF full time. People are really revelling in their misfortune but it would've been great if it could have all been avoided.

I don't mean to be rude because I do like them, but it's a shame because they don't have much else to offer. Unless Meghan goes back to being an actress but it will be highly controversial so it's a barrier to any success.

I think that people are only revelling in the Sussexes' misfortune because of the awful, bratty & entitled way they went about leaving the Royal Family. They slurred the UK public that had previously done nothing but love Harry. They clearly caused the late Queen, Prince Philip and the now King a great deal of pain and portrayed themselves as victims. All of that left a bad taste in the public's mouth.

Had they gone to live quietly in Africa, working on their supposedly beloved conservation issues, things could've been different. But one or both of them wanted the la-la land life, and thought they knew how to go about getting it..

MaidOfSteel · 17/06/2023 18:45

LuckyPeonies · 17/06/2023 15:16

🤣 👏🏻

My gosh! Markle just invented the concept of interviewing!

EsmaCannonball · 17/06/2023 19:20

EachandEveryone · 17/06/2023 12:13

Oh, now I want to watch Grifters with Angelica Houston. I will have to see if I can find it anywhere, brilliant film.

Yes, my main reaction to this was 'I really want to watch The Grifters. Why is that film never on television?'

tommyshelbysbunnit · 17/06/2023 19:27

What actual talent do they have? And is it worth millions of dollars?

tommyshelbysbunnit · 17/06/2023 19:30

BoohooWoohoo · 17/06/2023 17:26

I think that Real Housewives would have Meghan in a heartbeat. She'd have to share the spotlight and deal with pressure from the producers to reveal more about the RF but it would help sell products on The Tig should she resurrect that.

Her and Brandi Glanville bring besties

SirQuintusAureliusMaximus · 17/06/2023 19:41

This bit really gets me. It surprised me how much as I am no royalist but I really can see and acknowledge the Queen's devotion to duty and her continuing to work until the age she did. It can't be a huge amount of fun at that age to have to keep going to stuff like the state opening of Parliament no matter how tired or disinterested you are. She kept doing it though.

It must really have been galling for her to see Harry behave in that way. I think sh was a woman with a core of steel so I don't think she'd have been crying into her pillow. However, the absolute disrespect they showed her, the institution she had worked her whole life for and general decorum must have been very painful for her.

It definitely is a part of the reasons why I really dislike both Meghan and Harry.

Gothambutnotahamster · 17/06/2023 19:46

I feel the same @SirQuintusAureliusMaximus

So do I. The coup de Grace was giving their child her private nickname. Just gobsmackingly crass.

Elior · 17/06/2023 19:50

Yes, she surpassed herself there!

tigger2022 · 17/06/2023 19:53

I agree, I tried to listen to a few episodes but just found myself yelling “it’s STEREOTYPES” every 2 seconds

An archetype is a typical example of a sort of person, whereas stereotypes are labels that get attached to types of people. The labels are what she’s talking about.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/06/2023 19:55

I think hubris is so innate in them, something like this was inevitable

I'm afraid so; it was really only a matter of time, and what this has become is surely no surprise to anyone who's been paying attention

User34352515 · 17/06/2023 20:18

Both are only late 30s/just past 40 with two young children. Meghan is smart but clearly has her hands full with the kids. Harry is only average at best, and just born into immense wealth and privilege. It would be insane to expect them to keep all the balls in the air. The crash is inevitable and long belated.

A lot of their "work" is quite insulting to professional authors, artists and media creatives. A writer will spend years solely working on one book. A filmmaker will only work on one documentary. H&M somehow manage to knock out books, podcasts and documentaries simultaneously which means none of those projects have received their full passion and attention. The massively delayed schedule for the podcast probably indicates there were just too busy to dedicate their full attention to the project...a pisstake for all true journalists who can only dream of such a deal with Spotify.

Their brand is beyond salvation to be honest. Especially after the non story of a 2 hour car chase in NYC traffic that has not been taken seriously by any media outlet. There are no followups corroborating their version of thee story (CCTV, eyewitness accounts etc) so the whole thing just ended as a manipulative half-truth.

AutumnCrow · 17/06/2023 20:22

I do wonder if that slow car chase ‘spokesperson’ statement was the beginning of the end.
