I would hope the judge applies the law, no matter how irritating the person bringing the case

Elior · 06/06/2023 19:09

That jokey comment to the judge about discussing the case with his kids over Facetime was so inappropriate it makes me cringe just to recall it. He is really not a skilled communicator.
Like Meghan, he likes fashionable soundbytes and cool ideas before an audience where there is no genuine exchange of ideas taking place, just droning on and on as a special guest. He lacks the agility of mind or the self-awareness to know where to stop and build up credibility before a Judge.

mixedrecycling · 06/06/2023 19:11

What jokey comment?

What jokey comment?

When the Judge told him that he was not allowed to discuss the case overnight with anybody. Then he asked if that included discussing it with his kids over Facetime. It was a lame joke that was not called for. He was required to agree, not get matey or jokey.

MayQueeen · 06/06/2023 19:15

Yeah that made me cringe just reading that - time and place, read the room Harry

mixedrecycling · 06/06/2023 19:16

😯he's not the smartest cookie

Cat1066 · 06/06/2023 19:19

It's absolutely ridiculous that he is critical of the press for writing about his life when he's doing the same about his friends and family.

Oh dear. He disrespected the judge yesterday because of his children. Then he goes and says that. He has neither respect nor humility.
What a shame judges can't do a slapdown. As someone said, Judge Judy should be doing this trial. He'd be weeping by now.

mixedrecycling · 06/06/2023 19:21

Steady! He is shining a light into disfunction and abuse. He is only being criticised because of racism in his choice of wife!

MayQueeen · 06/06/2023 19:23

what?! He’s gonna own up to bullying his staff and make it right?!

Haywirecity · 06/06/2023 19:23

Interestingly, a guy who used to work for Hacked Off is advising on this case. And he says they expect that the evidence from each of these cases will influence the judge on the other cases. If that works out, Harry looks OK.

Or it could end up being the reverse and other plaintiffs are going to have to work extra hard to prove their cases because Harry's made such a hash of standing up his.

😂That seems to be the verdict from a certain thread about the same topic, running concurrently to this one 😑

mixedrecycling · 06/06/2023 19:26

The judge will decide. All we have to go on is the media reports - my thoughts are based on the Guardian reports. Which of course have their own bias.

I think that dodgy stuff like phone hacking definitely happened hence settling with William. I think that it would be very possible to find out stuff about Harry via the dodgy actions they took against William but the settlement presumably means that argument can't be made

I'd wondered about that myself, especially given Harry's own remarks about William's settlement
So much was claimed about what other people were saying and doing that I'm surprised he didn't speak about his brother's case, as in "If they did it to him they'd certainly have done it to me"

Unless for whatever reason he wasn't allowed to mention it ...?

William's alleged settlement was with NGN. I don't think the Mirror group has been specifically implicated in hacking any of the royal family before.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/06/2023 19:32

I wasn't aware there was another threadc, Elior, but just checked and see it descended into abuse very quickly and attracted many deletions and a warning from HQ ... so don't think I'll bother

You're absolutely right, Dolma - my mistake

He's 1½ days of 7 weeks of litigants. He didn't harm anyone's case although neither did he have a memorable moment. So I don't think he'll have made,an impact on the judge other than being a bit entitled and rude.

I don't object to parallel threads in general... 😂

mixedrecycling · 06/06/2023 19:37

I ignored it for a while. Then the accusations went too far...

Elior · 06/06/2023 19:38

Deja-vu

Yep!

I believe they're individual cases with individual barristers. I could be wrong, though.

Oh, I thought it was one case with multiple litigants!

im sure one of us is right

I strongly suspect this isn’t about winning or loosing for harry, it’s about having his day in court. He wants to publicly say it all, he, once again, wants to tell “his truth” as publicly as possible. Every perceived wrong to be aired. Every accusation he can think of to be made public.

the issue is, he and his wife constantly feed the beast. They always pull shit that will hit the media. From their interviews, to falsely claiming there was a high speed car chase in New York recently to claiming they were married the day before they were.

and so it’s a never ending circle of false claims, him getting irate when it’s written about and disproved and then attacking as he was written about in the first place.

it doesn’t matter the outcome of this trial. He’s already lost.

I completely agree with this.

I do actually feel sorry for him as he's permanently a victim in his own life and doesn't seem like he'll ever know true happiness.
