Mawkish, cringe posts on FB again

I remember all this erupting on Facebook with the passing of The Duke of Edinburgh/Captain Tom/The Queen…and predictably posted by the usual suspects on mine 😬
A proliferation of Diana centric ones this time. Some people really need to get over it. Yes, it was incredibly tragic that she died in a horrific car accident, but all of this could have been avoided if Charles and Camilla had been allowed to get married in the first place.
As for the Diana one, don’t get me started on could/should of instead of have! Grrrr…..

Why do these imbeciles always conveniently forget that C and D were already DIVORCED. She was never going to be bloody Queen.
Ps. They really hate it when you point that out in the comments...😂😂

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 08/05/2023 15:08

Cross posted there @NancyPickford!
Great minds and all that.

MidgeHardcastle · 08/05/2023 15:18

The Princess Diana fb page is barking

NancyPickford · 08/05/2023 15:19

Creamcrackersandricecakes what's their response?

Good lord I thought the picture of Paddington was Prince Harry!

SparkyBlue · 08/05/2023 15:53

They are absolutely brilliant. Can you imagine what must go through some people's heads.

Mammyloveswine · 08/05/2023 16:04

My personal highlight... someone sent their young child into school wearing this when asked to wear something red/white/blue... Grin

Mrsjayy · 08/05/2023 16:05

Oh that poor child !

AskMeMore · 08/05/2023 16:17

I was never a fan of Diana.
But the Royalists are trying to rewrite history pretending she was not that popular and pretending she had an affair first, or that she was in star crossed in love with Charles (she wanted to pull out just before the wedding).
So although I would never post anything like the memes here, I can understand how the attempted rewriting of history makes people go the other way and defend Diana.

Tiddlypomtiddlypom · 08/05/2023 16:51

Fucking hell people are absolutely mental. 😂

DiscoBeat · 08/05/2023 16:55

This day should of been for you beautiful lady
The bad grammar and lack of punctuation gives you an idea of the intelligence of the creator.

DiscoBeat · 08/05/2023 16:56

Oh those photographs are just awful 😂😂
Aren't they just.

mycoffeecup · 08/05/2023 16:57

She had plenty of time in the car before the crash to put a seatbelt on, and wouldn't have died that night if she had been wearing one.

AskMeMore · 08/05/2023 16:59

@DiscoBeat Does criticising those with poor grammar make you feel superior?

Grin

That child’s parents would have been the talk of the staff room. 😅

OK, these people are intellectually first-rate, but dyslexic, and the combination of poor SPaG and a mawkish and illogical fixation with a long-dead woman who wouldn’t have become queen anyway, because she was no longer married to the heir to the throne, is pure coincidence?

RoaryMouth · 08/05/2023 17:23

@AskMeMore I think @DiscoBeat highlighting the grammar is entirely in keeping with the nature of the thread. Correct grammar would be disappointing with some of the memes.

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 08/05/2023 17:24

@NancyPickford - I've had several try to tell me that they weren't divorced, (I usually direct them to Google), and others insisting that if Camilla hadn't been on the scene, C and D would have had a wonderful, long, happy marriage. There's not a lot you can say to that other than 'lol' or 'ok...'

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 08/05/2023 17:25

It’s the kind of thing my former mother in law will post.

Fuck knows what Paddington’s has to do with it, he only met her once. Hardly close friends.

NancyPickford · 08/05/2023 17:27

Creamcrackersandricecakes - denying they were divorced is just bonkers!
Others pointing out the seat belt issue - the only person who survived that crash (the bodyguard) was the only one wearing one.

That is entirely true, now that you mention it. I did once see a T-shirt with WE ❤️ YOU PRINCESS DIE on it. I looked twice to see if it was ironic, but no.

Forgot this one….

Aw the drawing one is quite cute.

CherryCokeFanatic · 08/05/2023 17:56

Howling at the Paddington and middle finger ones 😂 😂😂😂😂 💀

Gilmorehill · 08/05/2023 17:57

Modda · 08/05/2023 14:11

I'm starting to hate that fucking Paddington.

🤣🤣🤣

Phos · 08/05/2023 17:58

The send him my luck one is kind of cute but then again I liked a lot of the ones of her walking away with Philip when she died, sorry.

That said, I'm absolutely fed up of seeing Paddington (in this context, I don't mind the little books and the films) and anyone who posts shite about Lady Di, I'd be torn between unfriending them and having a bit of a go at them.
