"The Royal Family lost a big asset" conversation

Am I the only one who's uncomfortable with people constantly saying that the Royal Family lost their biggest asset in Meghan because having a person of colour on the Buckingham Palace balcony would've been a nod to our current society, who's more diverse. As a black woman, this is actually offensive (and I'm not even a fan o Meghan) but to me, it just proves to me that you see her as nothing more than a non-white token who can be used to make the Royal Family look more diverse

What a lucky photographer he is! He just happened to be in the right place to see Harry arriving back in the US on Saturday, and on Sunday happened again to be in just the right place to see Meghan out for hike! What are the chances…🤣🤣

I have no idea, I'm not a pap, isn't what their bread and butter is, snapping famous people whenever he can, and passing on the pics. Funny he should say his job would be easier if it had been staged ? From his IG account.

But of course that would be disputed on here as I said.

Maybe he meant fully staged? Rather than being told where to be, but then having to appear as if he was there by accident?

Whaeanui · 11/05/2023 21:15

@Roussette you were right!

That sounds rather convoluted? Hmm

Maybe he should've just written "my job would've been easier if they had been staged, (but I'll just pretend they weren't because I have to say I was there by accident") 😂

polkadotdalmation · 11/05/2023 21:21

So we all agree it was staged. So the next question, why on that particular day and not on one of the other 364?

KattyJo · 11/05/2023 21:23

So how was he at exactly the right place to see Harry disembark from the plane as well?

KattyJo · 11/05/2023 21:26

Anyway, why are some posters so offended by the idea that Meghan would arrange to be papped?

It seemed pretty obvious what had happened from the moment the shots appeared, but what's so controversial about it?

Do you have any idea how paps operate? They are everywhere, they have sources, they pay people for the lowdown on when to turn up. How do you think they know when to turn up to airports, how do they get any of these shots? That's the nature of the beast. You ought to look at his feed, loadsa famous people papper!

So we all agree it was staged

Errmmm no. The photographer has said his job would've been easier if it had been staged. He has rebutted that claim. Even if you haven't.

polkadotdalmation · 11/05/2023 21:30

The same photographer??? 😂 He must be a clairvoyant

polkadotdalmation · 11/05/2023 21:32

Nothing at all wrong with calling your pet photographer, and contacting the Backgrid agency to double check they are your best side, its just the timing is very suspect

mixedrecycling · 11/05/2023 21:33

Of course, they gather info from whoever they can. Sometimes the people themselves, sometimes I suppose their staff or other third parties.

I don't understand why you are so sure where the info came from (or rather, didn't come from)?

Or that his comment of 'it would be easier if it was staged' is proof it wasn't staged - he would hardly confirm it if it had been! 'He would say that, wouldn't he' being the phrase to use...

Let's face it, it was either a huge coincidence or he was notified where H&M would be. And, if he was notified, none of us know who notified him.

Wait WHAT

Meghan bought her own Tank with her first paycheck from Suits. She has been seen wearing it long before she net Harry.

Also, no one is noticing that Catherine wore Diana's earrings to the Coronation? If that were Mrghan everyone would be accusing her of trying to slight Camilla.

Roussette · 11/05/2023 21:39

As far as the photographer... everyone can think what they want. Obviously the pap saying it wasn;t staged means nothing. Totally predictable of course!

KattyJo · 11/05/2023 21:45

Thats a stretch. No-ones saying she’s wearing the watch to slight Camilla, so why say it about earrings. I hate these sorts of made up hypotheticals. Just stick to what people in the actual discussion are actually saying.

onlylarkin · 11/05/2023 21:50

I can have my opinion. And my opinion is that if Meghand had worn Diana's earrings to the Coronation (hypothetically), peoplenwould be saying she did it to slight Camilla.

I never said anything about the watch being a slight to Camilla, and no one has ever said that.

Are you thread police? I didn't see your qualifications regarding deciding who is "actually" part of a conversation on a public forum.

onlylarkin · 11/05/2023 21:52

Also, anyone saying that Meghan wearing Diana's watch the day after the Coronation was trying tobdraw attention to herself away from KCIII is also discussing a made up hypothetical. Unless, of course, you were with her on her hike. I doubt you were.

Serenster · 11/05/2023 21:55

Who was Kate slighting when wearing the Queen’s diamond festoon necklace at the Coronation, then?

She has worn Diana’s diamond and pearl drop earrings a few times now. Presumably, she likes them. And, as Princess of Wales, she wore a pair of earrings worn by the last Princess of Wales. That’s continuity, not a dig at Queen Camilla. Who by way was wearing a huge diamond crown and a huge diamond necklace (worn by all Queens since Victoria for their coronations) and diamond earrings too. I don’t think Camilla would have felt too bothered by anyone else’s jeweller6y choices.

I suppose you can say it's factual that Meghan was wearing a priceless heirloom on an outdoor hike (fact) was not in the slightest bit bothered about being 'papped' and posed for the shots. Obviously taking time out from the worldwide privacy tour. And it occurred the day after the coronation. It's not far out speculation. We can see it with our own eyes.

Some weird off the wall speculation about Diana's earrings being a slight to Camilla, doesn't even make any kind of sense. 🙄

Roussette · 11/05/2023 22:45

I think we're forgetting she had her own Cartier Tank watch and it could've been that one as opposed to a 'priceless heirloom' 😁

And the photographer said they weren't staged shots

Apart from that okaaaay 😅

mixedrecycling · 11/05/2023 22:49

Well, I thought we had agreed that the photographer would say that, whatever the truth of the matter?

Let's call it 'his truth' as opposed to the 'objective truth' 😂

Ermmm nope I didn't agree that. You did though. 😅

polkadotdalmation · 11/05/2023 22:50

A tank watch or even another Cartier watch was not owned by princess diana the most photographed woman in the world. That makes the watch priceless and a million times more valuable than anything MM could afford on a jobbing actresses salary

Roussette · 11/05/2023 22:51

He's quite obviously a liar now 😂

mixedrecycling · 11/05/2023 22:52

You think the photographer would admit it was a staged shot, if it was? Despite his access to other (hypothetical) staged shots depending on his discretion?

What a sunshine-y view of human nature...!

Roussette · 11/05/2023 22:52

Don't understand your watch post. She had two. Who knows which one she had on even as a 'jobbing actress' WTAF lolol
