I noticed that there was no thread on the live events of the Coronation itself. Thought I might start one.

The orchestra and the opera singer were magnificent. Brings chills in my opinion.

I’m looking forward to seeing William, Kate and their kids. I hope the news reports are untrue, and Kate gets to wear a tiara.

William really is so tall, and he has good presence I have to admit, in comparison to Charles.

Camilla's expression walking up the aisle is priceless - you just know she'd rather be trotters up at home with a gin and tonic watching it on the telly.

Probably coincidence, but I wonder if the yellow (gold) and blue carpet is a nod to Ukraine.

This might well be the case, but I'm really not a fan of the carpet and it creates a horrible colour clash with all the finary.

Not everything blue and yellow is a nod to Ukraine. They are good contrasting colours on the colour wheel so used as a combination a lot. There is likely a royal reason for the colour combo

Charles looks so old and tired looking. I keep remembering how the queen looked when she sat exactly where Charles sat and how young and lovely she looked during her coronation.

I thought this. I wasn't alive for Elizabeth's coronation, but from the pictures she's young and full if life. Charles on the other hand...

Can Charles not get out of a chair without leaning on something? Camilla is bobbing about, Charles has to supported to stand up. Maybe he's just unfit.

He was reading off a cue card that someone was holding up just to the left of the screen! It's also probably really emotional for them all, what with Charles only getting the King job because his mum died. If that were my dad and I was Wills, I'd have had to avoid eye contact to avoid crying!

I love that sweet moment between Kate and Charlotte. The Wales really seem like such a close knit family.

Maybe he's unfit ?!if I had been sat down so long in long heavy robes and then had to stand I think I might wobble.And I'm a decade younger and active and pretty fit but the knees still get stiff.

I’ve tried to keep off these threads today as each to their own and everything but honestly … I know it’s about the institution not the individuals … but the grandiosity of all of this just seems inappropriate to me.
