Harry and Meghan still not replied to Coronation Invitation

Harry and Meghan still haven't replied to the invitation to the coronation even though the RSPV deadline has passed. If it's true I think it's a bit rude. They know the preparation that goes into these events. It must be a headache for the planners not to know if they are coming or not.

Apparently Arche and Lilibet aren't invited to the actual ceremony as they are deemed to be too young. My bet is they will all come to the UK for the coronation but who knows. Not heard if Andrew is coming or not. And Fergie. Will she be there. Maybe behind a pillar.

I must say with regard to Frogmore cottage its not very impressive for a royal residence so I think Harry did have the right to complain about that if he did. Now Andrew has been offered it apparently. Royal punishment cell.

No, they never complained about Frogmore.

If anything they he seems to be gushing over it.

Wow, that Eddie Murphy is so accurate, it looks like a picture, tbh.

And yes, @PollyThePixie when I first saw the portrait there was no doubt in my mind it was MM.

Lovely, this artist is very talented.

when I saw the one of Meghan I thought it was done by computer wizardy. I couldn’t make out if it was a picture or a painting. And it’s the same with Eddie Murphys. I want to reach out and touch it just as I do Meghan’s.

😂😂I love that !

And so sweet that you and your DH we're holding hands and that you still kept it.

I'd love to get into them again and wander round where we live for Easter hehe. I have just suggested it to DH but he said 'isn't it a bit early to be on the gin'?! No one would know who we are as they are full face ones with just mesh eyeholes. Now I must shut up about bunny outfits but it is Easter after all

Oh no, the Times are mad too 🙃

Is this a shameful publicity ploy?

Show some manners, Harry and Meghan – RSVP to the Coronation and stop this shameful publicity ploy

Oh dear, OP! Are you stuck for completing the seating plan until they reply? If so, I’d just give one of them a ring and find out one way or the other.

On the other hand, if you’re not actually responsible for the arrangements, it has no effect whatever on your life, so you’re free to go and enjoy this lovely sunny bank holiday weekend. Yay!

ginghamstarfish · 07/04/2023 11:04

If this is true, and it is very hard to imagine the pair of attention-seeking idiots missing out on such an occasion, then it should surely be assumed they are NOT going. Clearly there is a lot of work going in to arranging the whole event, and invitees who cannot be arsed to respond by the stated reply date are then surely off the list? Wouldn't the same go for any occasion someone is formally invited to? Have read many stories on here of CF 'friends' not bothering to respond to invites for weddings etc then just turning up on the day. I'd refuse them entry.

Dearie me......

Harry played a polo match on Archie's birthday last year so obviously wasn't overly bothered about spending the whole day celebrating his son's 'special day'.

I'm sure they can find time on his birthday for a slice of cake, a chorus of Happy Birthday and a round of pass the parcel. Or do like most parents do if things clash, and have the celebration the day before/after.

The frothing about the date of the coronation being the same date as a 4 year olds birthday and this being 'spiteful' and unacceptable is hilarious. And shows the lengths people will go to to take/find offence.

Listen, just to reiterate, I don't think Charles knew anything about this date and he just signed what was put in front of him, assuming everyone had done their due diligence.

In general I doubt this will worry or affect Archie in any way whatsoever.

I am however, suspicious about the motives from, oh I don't know.........the wasp.

While he is young, Archie's birthday doesn't particularly matter. When Archie is a confused 14yr old teen and his birthday actually does matter, it will be some kind of 10yr anniversary and when he is 29 it will be a jubilee. Whoever decided this, has left him a legacy.

You have to bear in mind what these people have been doing to his parents. That's all.

tatalan · 07/04/2023 11:08

I think Harry should skip it.

Coxspurplepippin · 07/04/2023 11:09

'In fact I don't know anyone who always celebrates the whole day of their child's birthday. Unless you think a polo match that would have taken harry away for a few hours means he can't then have a family birthday party?'

Absolutely - so on Archie's birthday, they can, as I said, have cake, sing Happy Birthday, do presents. It being the same date as the coronation takes nothing away from it being Archie's birthday. In fact, he may, as he gets older, quite like the fact that an important historical occasion is the same day as his birthday (depending of course on how his parents spin it). It's just the posters claiming the day was chosen out of spite that I find bonkers.

Roussette - 'You sound so sarky about a little boy's 'special day'. Horrible.'
Nowhere in my post have I been sarky about a little boy's birthday being celebrated. I'm just amazed that anyone would think to take the date into account when planning a national event. It's obviously not required for his parents to spend the whole day with him on his birthday as evinced by Harry's plans from last year. There'll be plenty of time for birthday fun whether Harry and Meghan attend the coronation or otherwise.

Andrew will never move into frogmore. It is all for pr.

First he owes money on his chalet, next it's paid for. Then he has a case against him, next it's paid for. Next he is no longer working royal, so has no security. Next it's paid for.
You get the picture.

So, nah, he's not moving to Frogmore.

I don't. Think that his birthday was taken into account and I don't think it should've been.

I think, just think, we are in agreement lol

Coxspurplepippin · 07/04/2023 11:21

Totally agree. I said this from Day One when it was all about Andrew leaving Royal Lodge. I said WON'T HAPPEN
He will never ever move from a 98 acre estate into a 5 bedroomed house or whatever it is!
It's all for the optics. The RF are very good at letting this sort of thing leak as a bit of positive PR, then it doesn't happen.

Okay Charles may not even have known when his grandchildren birthday were.

Perhaps he just has a persecution complex?
Or maybe he's just not as important as he thinks he is.

He's not important but clinging on to his royal status for dear life. In a few years, no one will be interested

There won’t be any Royal occasions where he might be expected to put in an appearance for several years now at least. If he’s not going on TV to bleat or write any more whinging books his profile will just drop away completely.

rattymol · 07/04/2023 11:38

Except everyone here is fascinated by Harry and Meghan.
Start a thread on any other member of the royal family and see how many comments until harry or Meghan are mentioned

rattymol · 07/04/2023 11:40

Remember it is three years since Harry and Meghan left the royal family. Three years and still they are all people here focus on.

notanotheroneagain · 07/04/2023 11:43

I think it kills some people that Harry is the kings son. And will be the kings brother.

He will only be irrelevant to the monarch when George takes over.

Unfortunately for most on this board, his portfolio indicates that he will forever be relevant worldwide, even his dc if they join his foundation and work.

Until the tabloids find other members of the royal family who bring in as much clicks and revenue as H&M, they will never be irrelevant.

They were silent for a whole year after stepping down & before Oprah yet the papers continued, endless briefings from the Palace too.

Agree. And sadly that's going to be W&K's children as they get older, have relationships, friendships, etc.
