Speaking of hand signals, my poor seven year old was in a group photo for his athletic’s club which they posted before marching in the local St Patrick’s day parade

He’s in the front row and thought he was making a peace sign but his hand was the wrong way round so he’s flicking v’s instead

The shame

God my son accidentally got the peace sign the wrong way round too! , always in public too ! 😳 the shame is right !
He also had trouble with m and n and was talking about bigger boys !
I honestly thought the school would think I was a bigot !

@purpledalmation , yep I remember the picture of the chap with a fur hat on and bare chest ( some sort of shaman?) I'm really embarrassed to admit I thought he looked good! 😳 , however later photographs showed this to be a very , very kind photo!
Which was good in my opinion, I've enough to be embarrassed about without that! 🤣

He was definitely rather photogenic while trying to overthrow the US government. 😂. Sadly for him, he became the face of the insurrection.

I recall he was one of the ones who got caught up in Q from the left. I think. One of those esoteric, hippy, new age-y types who were drawn to the whole unlocking mysteries of the universe aspect. Those types like him who wouldn’t harm a fly converged with the far-right nutters and MAGA crowd who followed Trump like a deity and the violent white suprematist organisations. It was toxic.

I think his lawyers argued for leniency on the basis of mental health.

I have a good friend in the US that happened to. She got caught up in the whole Q thing. Which was the gateway drug to being a Trump supporter. Not a rabid, hateful one. But I was shocked. She was literally one of the last people I would expect. She was always a free spirit, hippy dippy, lefty, open-minded, kind person. A little too open. 🙄

There is a Reddit thread 'QAnonCasualties' and it is honestly heartbreaking. Families have been split apart. Parents not talking to children anymore and vice versa.

Very sad.

Sometimes being too open is not necessarily a good thing , I'm always sad when family members fall out ( some have good reasons!) , I was shocked when I watched the Scientology documentary, such power in the hands of a cult , and Tom cruise apparently an intelligent, nice man , completely sucked in !

I think one of the reasons things can get so heated is often different arguments are being carried on in the same thread. I can think of three current (and no doubt there are others) in recent threads:

  • what is the best way of deciding a Head of State, given a blank canvas?
  • what is the best way of deciding the UK's Head of State now in the current context?
  • how well is Charles performing as a Head of State in the current context of the UK as a constitutional monarchy?

They are all different questions, and if they get mixed up there is no space for nuance and sweeping statements/aligning into different camps seems to become the order of the day...
