It’s not just highly unlikely it’s completely and totally not deliberate. Most people are unaware of it and honestly, even if we are, why should we stop because revolting extremists try and adopt it? What if they used a hand wave as a sign somehow? Should we stop waving? I only became aware of it because a far left nz news channel deliberately and purposefully wanted to paint a womens rights campaigner as a nazi in order to stop her and other women speaking just this past week. Otherwise I would have no idea about it. This woman btw, was in NZ attending an event hosted by Maori women, long time Māori rights campaigners. They are also now being called Nazis and one of them has a broken foot because the deliberate smear caused huge violence. Now it’s not up to me what people want to do with this information, but may I suggest that the way to deal with this would be to not repeat the claim, even in jest, if you see someone make this ludicrous connection. I know nobody on the forum actually accused Camilla, but even repeating that someone else did, without the background information, could be very damaging. As I’ve just explained. Those of us aware it’s a hoax will get it, those unaware will not. After the hoax, just to illustrate that most don’t know about it, Obama was pictured doing it, Jacinda Ardern, many many others.
Anyhow, I do think once somebody here has realised their error and removed their post then people should just leave it alone. It doesn’t seem like anyone else here was aware of this so let’s just assume no ill intent by other posters and move on. Both the supremacists and the idiots on 4chan are not worth falling out or arguing over IMO.
