I absolutely think they should all be taking the press to court for phone hacking. It's despicable. And as PP have stated, it's not just Harry. It's loads of them.

I do think tho how can Harry admit that the press hacked his phone yet be so certain that stories were leaked to the press by Camilla, William and Kate. Surely, if his phone was being hacked, THATS how stories were coming out?

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 14:08

Excellent, I’m pleased to see this finally and I wish ALL the claimants luck with this. Plenty of other cases have settled because they don’t have the money to hold these disgusting people to account. Murdoch has enormous resources that other people haven’t been able to match. I’m not sure why so many posters here have a problem with him doing this, especially given Murdoch and his organisations have gotten away with illegal behaviour causing pain and suffering to thousands of people, ordinary people. Defending ANL and what they’ve done is bizarre behaviour, even for royal sycophants.

oh and this privacy thing, enough already. Harry and Meghan did not utter one word about privacy. There’s a line where press become stalkers. You wouldn’t like them lying and stalking you or up or children so how about getting some perspective. It’s one thing to defend the royal family, but why the heck anyone wants to defend the tabloids is beyond me

Good point. He has grouped the royals and his family together as his enemies.

VixenTodd · 27/03/2023 14:10

The tabloids and his family I meant.

michaelmacrae · 27/03/2023 14:11

Its not doing anything for his alarming bald spot, though, is it? It's becoming very advanced.

That would happen wherever he is though.

MarshaMelrose · 27/03/2023 14:11

The fail 'wants privacy' with this case requesting 'reporting restrictions'. Lol.

No. They don't want their journalists to be named in case it impacts giving them a fair trial. The judge agreed

Mr Justice Nicklin agreed to make the order on Monday, saying it was “not usual for the court to impose reporting restrictions at such an early stage of proceedings” but that in this instance it was “in the interests of fairness and the administration of justice”.

It's a mixture of both.

What's this case got to do with Rupert Murdoch? I think you're getting a bit muddled up.

StickyWickets · 27/03/2023 14:15

The hypocrisy of the moral crusaders on this thread praising Harry for his noble fight against phone hacking whilst simultaneously using 'tampon gate' as a weapon to ridicule KC on other threads is an interesting observation..

Which is rich. Considering they were demanding MM's friends be named for their letter case against her.

What, they grew a conscience now?

Howsimplywonderful · 27/03/2023 14:19

The new Series of Succession is starting tonight !

Harry shares characteristics with all younger Roys

Shivaun’s hair colour
Kendalls drug addictions
Roman’s inappropriate dick sharing anecdotes
Conors general pomposity of thinking himself relevant to anything

Their lawyers follow the law.
The judge agreed the journalists names shouldn't be revealed.
They didn't demand the names of the friends should be revealed. They requested permission from the court. Meghan objected and made an application to keep their names secret. The judge agreed with her.
You can't say that it's OK for Meghan to make applications but not journalists.

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 14:28

Wrong case and owners Marsha, that’s to come isn’t it.

Harry is part of a high-profile group including Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Elizabeth Hurley, Sadie Frost, and Baroness Doreen Lawrence — the mother of Stephen Lawrence.

So just in case anyone missed it, the mother of Stephen Lawrence is included in this.

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 14:31

I guess this is a bit awkward for Charles & Camilla as their head of comms is former deputy editor of the Daily Mail & Mail on Sunday Tobyn Andreae. Mail on Sunday is where Camilla’s son works I think? Isn’t it…

A poster who writes that journalists should target Louis (ref Archie on the balcony thread) is honestly no better than one who pokes fun at people with disabilities.

Stop misrepresenting her argument on that thread - that is not what she said.

Actually, it's what she said

perhaps not what she meant.

Finally, I thought there would be much more support on here for anyone who takes on the misogynistic hideousness that is the Fail.

^^ This. I'm gobsmacked at the hate and ridicule on this thread. Him and others are taking on ANL but most posters just want to be here to ridicule Harry.

I don't think it is going to be possible to discuss this case. Not on MN anyway.

It's just posters who want to throw cheap insults at Harry (and Meghan). No interest in this case which is actually really worthwhile and important, for many now, and in the future.

But it's all about pathetic memes with his hair looking like pubes, his baldness, the fact he's just doing it for the money when he actually turned the money down, personal attacks on and lies about other posters for having the temerity not to want to insult Harry, but to actually discuss how this court hearing proceeds.

I can't be arsed, I have other places I can discuss the case.

Adios all.

Totally agree @Roussette , Good that Harry has stayed with the case. Leave the usuals to repeat themselves the case itself is being discussed elsewhere.

Next thing one might start another thread because ...,,
US IMMIGRATION HAS BARRED HARRY FROM RETURNING TO THE US

Extremely important case that could bring down the Mail. Good for him (and the others bringing it)

Fantastic series can't wait to binge-watch. I've gotta to hand it to Harry he knows how to make an entrance. I wonder if the Mail isn'tttr reporting this for legal reasons or a fit of pique ?

I think that the publishing of the conversation between Charles and Camilla was absolutely terrible and actually may have (entirely speculative on my part) started the ball rolling for many people in the public eye considering taking on the media in the way this group are. Best of luck to them - the Daily Mail is a formidable opponent with deep pockets.

I think the government should be held to
account too, Matt Hancock in particular, for cancelling Leveson II.

It really makes you wonder what shady deals were done in return doesn’t it?

Some of the allegations in this case rely on material provided by Associated Newspapers to the Leveson inquiry.

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 15:10

Wants his privacy when it suits him

Like most people! People should be able to choose when and if they talk about their own life. I don’t see the issue with that. But because Britain has enslaved this whole family you think you own them and every aspect of their lives.
I don’t remember reading Harry hacked anyones phone?
