Anyone who thinks that there hasn’t been an alleged sustained press attack against Harry and Meghan should follow the money!
Harry directs quite a lot of alleged criticism towards Rebekah Brooks in the book as he (apparently) says that she allegedly spun a story about him related to his alleged drug-taking.
Brooks, as posters may know, is a former journalist, former editor of tabloid newspapers, and a prominent figure in the news international phone hacking scandal.
She now works as a senior executive
In the trial she was acquitted, owing to lack of concrete evidence, of being aware of the murkier practices of her journalists whose job one of them described as “destroying people’s lives” and they did this by illegally hacking phones, searching through bins, paying off friends and colleagues. The worst of this was the hacking of the phone of the murder victim, Milly Dowler. Let’s just say there was much discussion afterwards about the level of Brook’s involvement.
And who were, according to an Evening Standard article in 2014, among the friends who “had Rebekah’s back” during her trial? It was none other than Jeremy Clarkson and Piers Morgan! Funny that!
Clarkson said “he was beyond ecstatic” that she was acquitted.
Morgan said “he was so happy for my friends Rebekah and Charlie”
And who were the prominent journalists who wrote the most vile things about Harry and Meghan … ah…let me see ….
