Just because Harry is attached to it. To have hate of someone you don't know transcend something like hacking is pretty disgusting

It is, but as all the death threats they’ve received has proven, there are some deeply unhinged racist people who want to destroy them. It’s deeply unpleasant.

Whaeanui · 28/03/2023 09:29

it was only preliminary argument

You really understand nothing. The claimants did not object to ANL using human rights as a reason to appeal to the courts to bar publication of the journalists names and withholding of publication of particular evidence until it reaches trial, if it does, to protect the journalists. As to whether this is going to reach trial, which is what this is about, that decision has not been made or commented on. Nobody lost anything yesterday.

milti · 28/03/2023 09:24

They might win the case - no idea - if the others could win and Harry not that would be ideal 😃

If the evidence is there then yes they'll win and good, papers should not use illegal activity to spy on folk.

That said it'll be a shallow victory for Harold because most people are thinking the same thing, what a humongous prat to beat about privacy whilst not respectful others himself. Granted, quoting others in his book without their consent is not illegal but it is morally wrong. We all see him. Will his court japes be volume 2 or vol 3 I wonder.

I've just watched the video too

then you would of seen the reporter standing in their path as they tried to make their way in and not move. Considering Harry is known to have constant death threats, I think preventing him from passing by is pretty poor behaviour.

Looked to me like Harry was too busy waving and smiling at people, not looking where he was going and walked straight into the photographer. He also didn't look as if he was too concerned about his security either, if he was he would have chosen to enter through a back/side entrance.

Whaeanui · 28/03/2023 09:32

The photographer was the only one standing on the path. He should get out of the way. He wasn’t hurt so wtf is the big deal?

Meanwhile, ANL have been not just hacking according to this case, tapping landlines, stealing private information, paying the police for info….

'Eyes front' basic rule in the army, that way you see what's in your path. Just saying.

bloody hell. the gleeful shite on this thread mocking H is so childish.
if H hasn't turned up this would barely have got a mention. so maybe that why he did it. good on him

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/03/2023 10:00

Actually, watching the BBC video it looks like Harry wasn't looking where he was going and had the photographer not been there he would have walked into the fence. The photographer looks really pissed off about it because he and his bag were pushed against the fence.

Exactly!

But one poster is just intent on unfunny memes and others clogging up the thread with same old shite.
Very boring

Whaeanui · 28/03/2023 10:02

Associated is arguing in court that the seven cases all rely to a considerable degree on a document supplied by the company to the Leveson Inquiry into press standards in 2011, and that this document was supplied on terms of confidentiality which should not now be breached.
Sherborne, for the claimants, argued today that the document – parts of which have since been published by a news organisation – is not truly confidential. He will resume on the point tomorrow morning.
For publishers of the Mail to be seeking to prevent the further airing of the document at trial, and for it to have obtained an order preventing the naming of its own journalists, must accentuate its embarrassment. The paper has long associated itself with resistance to judicial secrecy, often asserting that the public’s right to know is paramount.

Whaeanui · 28/03/2023 10:03

It’s almost funny ANL don’t want a document to be used because it was confidential. Seriously.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/03/2023 10:04

It doesn't need to be mentioned. It's a court case that will hopefully get to the truth of the matter. If the Mail is found guilty, surely that's the time for publicity not now.

Roussette · 28/03/2023 10:05

that post @Whaeanui . The mail compromising on their normal toxic views makes them look stupid

Whaeanui · 28/03/2023 10:06

A lot of things make them look stupid but yes @Roussette that part is particularly ridiculous.

Whaeanui · 28/03/2023 10:12

@Roussette the next part of that article is even better, what utter hypocrites:

In a libel case it is currently fighting, brought by Prince Harry, Associated is defending an article that was headlined: ‘Exclusive: How Prince Harry tried to keep his legal fight with the government over police bodyguards a secret…’ The article went on to accuse the prince of ‘seeking far-reaching confidentiality’ and of ‘trying to keep details of his legal battle about police protection private’.

VixenTodd · 28/03/2023 10:12

I love @milti 's memes.

There are about two people on this thread with legal knowledge and a bunch of clueless talking out their OO and cheerleading other stans thinking we are duped.
It took 24 hours to tell them that the payouts were offered by a different paper in a different case 😛

No, now it is needed. Anything to bring attention to what the vile media do. I have just been reading about a victim of the tube 7/7 (the lady with the mask) and what she was put through. (The case continues now) It was heartbreaking. Her phone hacked, medical records obtained, her grandmother phone hacked and reporters continually ringing her pretending to be a cousin, ditto at her church and whilst she was in hospital and so on

The more publicity we gave to this sort of thing the better. The media would love to cover it up wouldn't they?

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/03/2023 10:17

I think Harry's appearance is a distraction at the moment, particularly when the case hasn't even started (assuming it is allowed to). I bet many people having only seen the headlines don't even realise that other people are involved in the case.

Rhondaa · 28/03/2023 10:18

'But one poster is just intent on unfunny memes and others clogging up the thread with same old shite. Very boring'

Memes are funny and other people's opinions are as valid as your own whether you like it or not. Stop trying to silence people seeming to expect some kind of bore off echo chamber.

Really?

I doubt Elton John would like to be dismissed so readily!
And there is a lot about Baroness Lawrence everywhere
