I hope the claimants in this case get justice. However Meghan once asked about Harry, 'Is he kind?' and the answer is, 'No he isn't'.

Plitvice · 27/03/2023 18:04

Public breach of (reasonably expected) confidentiality is serious when you are dealing with a group of public figures. Luckily, the Royal Family have gone higher by not taking action against him (for now). That does not lessen the seriousness of what he has done.

'Is he kind?' and the answer is, 'Yes, he's loaded'.

They do seem untouchable. But not quite.

They were super annoyed with MM when she won and asked for them to give her some of their profits. The whole point of them writing these negative things about H&M is greed and profits, every penny that leaves the coffers grates. As another poster has pointed out, having people who can challenge, doing that, helps to set the narrative straight that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable. If this group wins, it can embolden more people not to take it lying down.

It's a big group this time, quite likely to win. Even the likes of Sienna Miller winning is adding up.

They make make fun of Harry, but from what I have seen, since he left, there are no outright lies that he cannot correct anymore.

Good point, @notanotheroneagain. MM’s win was important. Fingers crossed this group is also successful against the tabloids.

It’s a pity that Charles and William didn’t align themselves with Harry & the others against the tabloids as it would’ve benefited them, Camilla and Catherine.

Camilla & Charles have chosen instead to essentially merge with the tabloids by hiring Sun & Daily Fail editors onto their staff in the hopes of improving their image, especially Camilla’s. I it will ultimately backfire and simply tie Charles’ hands to protect himself, his sons, DILs, and grandchildren from press excesses in the future.

I didn’t understand this - I thought he’d already sued them. What is the take out reference?

I presume it means a way of making money for 'take out'. Unless I have misunderstood. I don't think I have.

Yes. They've already started with their provocative, shit stirring articles about KC + C and W + H.

The comment sections are already pushing back, calling them freeloaders etc.

In the absence of Meghan, the tabloids will simply move to the next target.

You say it was awful. Then follow it up with 'perhaps he is just ordering takeout'

Says it all.

Exactly, I said it was awful. But there's a difference in the press listening into his messages and taking things out of context to make him sound guilty and listening to him carrying out day to day admin. To him there's not much difference, his privacy has been intruded on. But if it's just general life admin, that's just the same as all the others who are suing so I'm not aghast or invested as I was 15 years ago.

MsWhitworth · 27/03/2023 18:18

Just seen on the news that Elton John, David Furnish and Baroness Lawrence also attended. Definitely meant to show they mean business.

MarshaMelrose · 27/03/2023 18:20

I don't understand what that means.

PlanetLuna · 27/03/2023 18:23

I’m assuming these comments are satire 😂. Otherwise this reasoning makes zero sense. This lawsuit has been in the works for years. The judge chose the date the trial would start. Harry didn’t study Charles’ travel plans, then choose to show up for his own lawsuit prelims just to screw with Charles. 😂😂😂.

Roussette · 27/03/2023 18:23

And Sadie Frost.

Elton John's home was tapped. His gardener and PA were targeted. The High Court also heard Sir Elton and Furnish had not seen a copy of their first child's birth certificate before it was allegedly unlawfully obtained by ANL.
"They were heartbroken by the derogatory headline that Associated attached to it, clearly calculated to profit and generate public sensation about an event that they had so carefully guarded to keep precious."

milti · 27/03/2023 18:25

@Roussette Sadie frost is hardly a paragon to aspire to 😂

Someone did refer to Harry as Fanta pubes on the meme thread and it’s stuck with me.

Must have been some small-minded bully…

skullbabe · 27/03/2023 18:26

Again - illegal things happening to people you don’t like are still illegal

Do you never have private or personal conversation on your phone? It's just 'life admin'?
Shock

Yes, they decided I think, if you can’t beat them, join them. What is that guys name who used to be Williams head dude and then went to work for the tories, Simon? He’s still there… Simon Case? Something like that. Anyone seen his WhatsApp with Hancock? Awful man.

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 18:29

Sienna Miller was badly treated too, she settled because she didn’t have the money to go to trial. Her career was affected. They’re such horrible horrible soulless people running these tabloids.

It’s worse. Because they hacked his phone for mundane reasons - listening to his general day to day - and did not actively frame him - the poster does not care as
much as she would have done many years ago because it the same old story.

Please god let this case spell the end of the Daily Mail

milveycrohn · 27/03/2023 18:38

I think the case is related to 'items' about them obtained illegally.
Presumably they have evidence.

OMG.
There is no conversation I've had on my phone that would be dreadful if it got published. Maybe some comments I'm not too proud of but nothing dire. However, would I want details revealed for everyone to see. No, I definitely wouldn't. And I'd sue and deserve my compensation. No one should have their phone illegally hacked. I don't know how many times I have to say this but there you go.
However, there's a big difference between that and being suspected of a crime and having conversations with people that could then be twisted. That could be absolutely devastating. I see people on here all the time saying there's no smoke without fire. Which is just a pile of poo. Of course there is.
So if revealing Jeffries' arrangements for coffee or not getting on with his sister in law is revealed, it'd intrusive and embarrassing for him but I wouldn't be aghast at it. I wouldn't even pay attention to it in the papers.
If, however, it's revealed that The Sun twisted information so that it made out that Jeffries had a hand in Yeates' death, I'd be disgusted. I wouldn't be shocked. I probably wouldn't even be aghast. I think got hardened to that when all this started years ago. But I'd be disgusted.

So about the settlement Harry was offered, when was that?
