You don’t need to derail this important thread with those comments though do you. It’s because Harry is doing something really important despite what it means for him personally, something that will benefit the whole country.

But it's not news. It's just more of the same. Harry was not and is not any sort of leader over this. Those came 12, 13 years ago when the first cases started.

I absolutely think they should all be taking the press to court for phone hacking. It's despicable. And as PP have stated, it's not just Harry. It's loads of them.

I do think tho how can Harry admit that the press hacked his phone yet be so certain that stories were leaked to the press by Camilla, William and Kate. Surely, if his phone was being hacked, THATS how stories were coming out?

I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s been wondering about that!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/03/2023 17:00

It's honestly a no brainer. Guilty as charged

Oh dear, here we go - seen all the evidence have you? And if not wouldn't it be better to wait until the case is heard before making statements like this Hmm

MarshaMelrose · 27/03/2023 16:04

Talking about your own life is one thing. Revealing private details about, for example, the medical issues of others is nasty. I don't see the difference between that and hacking. They're both an invasion of privacy, albeit the invasion took place in person as opposed to over a phone.

It's called a matter of law I hope on a jury you would leave personal opinions at the door of the court.

The evidence will come out. It wouldn't have got this far if there wasn't something there. But yes we shall see.

There's nothing like MN on a Monday afternoon for ruffling the feathers 😁

I’m glad that he came because he knows that an appearance will almost guarantee attention - and this case definitely needs attention regardless people downplaying it (journalists have been imprisoned and the cases have been going on for years) - these people need to be held to account. Many people have no empathy for the famous but it becomes real when day to day people can be and have been affected like Doreen (now Baroness) Lawrence.

The initial coverage of the Lawrence campaign by the Mail was as a left wing plot until Paul Dacre was advised that Neville Lawrence actually was a decorator in his house. (This is part of the Baroness’ case - up till then the Mail engaged in the illegal activity described above to get more information about them). Then they campaigned for justice - and it actually scarily shows the actual power of the media in shaping public consciousness.

The Hang Harry High mob are in full blood for daring to set his well booted feet on sacred British soil. But if he's staying with Elton tonight - no drugs - thems the rules.

On the original hacking disclosures, Kate Middleton (royal girlfriend) was overwhelmingly the most affected, former heartthrob Young Wills came 2nd… Harold was a distant 3rd, with Chelsy Davy more sensitively affected since her medical records were specifically targetted

Victoria Ward

Court docs claim that Harry and his associates were targeted by PI Gavin Burrows, who is said to have “placed a hardwire tap” on friend Guy Pelly’s phone and unlawfully gathered information about his then girlfriend Chelsy Davy. He is also said to have targeted Carole Middleton

Non celebrities getting caught up in the hacking is not a new thing, though, is it?

Hear that Doreen?

Harry was hacked 9 times, William 35 times, Catherine 155 times but Harry is the one still going to court years after. Harry is a whole circus.

MN is not a court of law. I can have personal opinions on here if I want. Although, that's a good suggestion of yours. Court cases can be really tedious so a good way of getting out of it is to say I couldn't be impartial. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't think that's a defence against jury service you are required by law to be impartial and follow the directions of the judge as to what is the law. Though of course folk will bring their own views and prejudices either overtly or covertly to the table.

I cannot believe that Sussex fans would stoop so low as to employ the tragedy of a different claimant to close down criticism of Harry.
FFS, he is involved for his own reasons, not to support any of the others.

His own reasons being the press and their underhand illegal activities. Not the money. He refused it.

I can't believe how dismissive some posters who just want to score one up on Harry are at these underhand illegal activities. If there wasn't a case to be heard, there wouldn't be one.

But apparently... we shouldn't be aghast at illegal phone hacking, illegal bugging of houses and cars achieved by breaking and entering, paying off police to dish dirt, employing PIs to spy, illegal accessing of medical and financial records by bribery.
Nothing to see here folks. Hmm

Plitvice · 27/03/2023 17:32

As I read it, the argument is that he is no more noble than Associated Press. Betraying your own sibling by pretending to have their back and then spilling intimate details about their penis in a book you wrote to earn yourself some money, then throwing in a joke your own penis just to level the field a bit. Insinuating to journalists that he has had an affair...

Making several disparaging statements about your sister in law who has always behaved flawlessly such that people in other countries believe you and behave in a hostile way towards your brother and his wife when they next visit.

Plitvice · 27/03/2023 17:34

Claiming that your family is racist causing a huge loss of goodwill in the Commonwealth and letting that fester for a year before confirming it to be untrue all along.

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 17:35

It’s a joint claim together. This thread is about the trial which includes all of them including the Baroness. She attended today too. You’re a particularly unpleasant contributor on this thread deflecting from an important case. I’m sure it does annoy you to have it pointed out that other people are involved so derailing the thread is insulting them too. I’m not a Sussex fan. I’m anti the British monarchy so I find their support of it a turn off. I’m just not mean spirited and evil enough to hate on them 24/7 after they’ve clearly left the country because of their mental health. I’m a mental health advocate because I had a suicidal child and suffer from anxiety.
