Was there anything Kate didn't excel at?

Having read many articles Kate (pippa & James also) is so accomplished since she was tiny.
She is very sporty.. strong swimmer, excellent skier, hockey player, lacrosse, athletics, netball.. Plays piano very well & also was lead in schools drama production. Excelled at art.
It seems the Middleton's didn't do much in the way of equistrian sports?
Would love my dc to be as accomplished & well rounded. Can't afford Marlborough or any private for that matter!

That is irrelevant. Shooting is not comparable with riding or driving a car.

I find nothing wrong with being able to shoot. I hate big game hunting but that's it.

Sounds like the set are not very intelligent if you have to make up an excuse about why you do not ride instead of it just being accepted it is not your thing.

Go to a top fee paying school and ask who doesn’t play a musical instrument or who doesn’t play tennis or who can’t sail and you will find a minority. Riding is the same thing. Along with driving once you reach the legal age to drive. It’s just the norm.

Totally relevant. Royals ride, it's their 'thing'. Along with grouse shooting. But as George has been on a shoot along with his Mum, it's obviously something they encourage.

I don’t want to get into a discussion about shooting. I was trying to point out to the poster who said there is nothing amiss about not being able to ride and implied it’s a principle as she referred to shooting.

The original question was why Kate doesn’t ride. Another poster dragged shooting into it.

This is so weird. Grown women fangirling over a normal woman. Connection with royalty has a very curious effect, magnifying the normal to the exceptional. It's really extraordinary.

Okay. It’s different where I live. Perhaps it depends on the area/location/parents.

She failed at marrying a faithful husband.

What a viscious post, if William has been unfaithful then it is not Kate’s failure, how misogynistic of you to blame Kate, nasty.

That was me!

We were talking about something that the Royals do. And riding is one of them. Shooting is another.

JuliesBicycle · 15/03/2023 16:57

@LadyVictoriaSponge Bitching is a misogynistic word.

Well I was answering the poster who wondered why Kate didn’t just say she can’t ride.

Riding is a social occasion/sport in these circles so I suppose she came up with the allergy reason as it’s more acceptable than saying she doesn’t like/is scared of horses.

The kids learn as extra curricular as well. Here the kids have music during school hours but also do it outside of school. My own kids go to classes privately twice a week.
But they are day pupils. No idea how boarding works.

2bazookas · 15/03/2023 17:05

The Middletons demonstrate the "great advantage" boarding schools sell to absent parents for a high price.

Good nutrition, regular routine, enough sleep, lots of outdoor excercise, supervised homework, firm boundaries and full school attendance.
All pretty simple stuff.

You don't need to spend £30 k pa to buy those advantages for your child. They can all be provided at home by ordinary parents, to children attending state schools.

What an awful post Badger. Diana broke boundaries by working with AIDS victims when other people were terrified it was contagious.

Yes, she did, and on landmines too. All credit to her.

But she also had some quite glaring faults. If she hadn't had such a tragic death at such a young age her reputation would probably not be so high now.

Well what you have listed goes for most high profile ‘beautiful’ women but whatever you say, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear, so she is definitely ahead in the genetic gene pool, tall, slim, nice bone structure, thick hair, all the clothes and styling just add to what she was born with.
