Was there anything Kate didn't excel at?

Having read many articles Kate (pippa & James also) is so accomplished since she was tiny.
She is very sporty.. strong swimmer, excellent skier, hockey player, lacrosse, athletics, netball.. Plays piano very well & also was lead in schools drama production. Excelled at art.
It seems the Middleton's didn't do much in the way of equistrian sports?
Would love my dc to be as accomplished & well rounded. Can't afford Marlborough or any private for that matter!

Just like Meghan's dad paid for her private school education... Look at the thanks he got...

Indeed. I hope all the Mumsnet mums realize that is as much gratitude as they will get from their kids for their private school education.

Samcro · 18/03/2023 11:36

gotta bash Meghan, can't have thread without bashing her. yet supposed to be a thread about Kate.

VixenTodd · 18/03/2023 11:37

Meghan bashed Kate publicly so why not?

AuroraCake · 18/03/2023 11:38

Plitvice · 18/03/2023 11:33

There is some similarity in the way Meghan's dad and Kate's parents maintained their respective lifestyles. I'll leave it at that 😉

I have no idea what you mean. He won the lotto by all accounts. If you mean some nefarious means. Number one who cares and number two…rolls my eyes.

Party Pieces a cover for drug running. Now there’s a thing.

VixenTodd · 18/03/2023 11:40

Maybe they won the lottery or premium bonds or whatever?

They didn’t. Public record. They inherited a trust that paid for kids education. She built a business worth 30 mil. Again all publicly available information. Hooves and zebras.

Plitvice · 18/03/2023 11:47

It's what they did with it that counts. they don't seem to have produced spoilt brats, they spent wisely, did a great job.
Thomas Markle went the other way.
I suspect they handled their windfall better than he did because they were wiser and more socially aware of where they were heading and what they were hoping to achieve.

I heard about the TF. But £30 million for a few cheaply priced tablecloths and banners. Is it a Plc. Where are these records?

What windfall? He inherited family money for education.

There is no evidence they ever won any money from anything.

Meghan also went to a top fee paying Catholic school, an unremarkable uni & had a pitiful acting career up until suits which isn't exactly Hollywood. Kate's gallery career much more impressive & intellectual.

Your post actually made me laugh out loud in its ridiculousness!

I wouldn't have minded a 'pitiful career' that landed me millions!

And what is this career of Kate's of which you refer to? As far as I know, she picked a couple of pictures to go into an exhibition! Is there something I've missed?!

It’s a small business or registered as such with HMRC. The company not them personally. Although they reported apparently a significant loss over covid. They probably draw a salary from it which would be available on HMRC.

in any case. They are wealthy.

She's never held down a job

Never had to juggle work and childcare and cooking tea.

She's no role model

Agreed

Agreed

Nor Meghan. They have a lot in common don't they?

chickenshavefeet · 18/03/2023 13:04

"Nor Meghan. They have a lot in common don't they?"

Except that Meghan did have a successful tv career.

Northwestern unremarkable?? You must have very high standards OP. It's not Ivy League but it's considered one of the best in the USA and consistently ranks highly in the list of the best universities in the world. It even ranks higher than St Andrews.

Only in the last couple of years as the love interest and never as a serious leading actor.

That's still a successful career. There's more to success than only being a "serious leading actor"

I'm off now - engaging with you Saint Kate of Nothing lovers is making my brain cells want to kill themselves - I'll leave you all to enjoy your delusions. Have fun

The main rule of Northwestern
You can only get in if you are loaded.
It's a private college for rich brats who play hard.
Lotto kids like Meghan spent dad's money and made powerful friends there.

Ha not a fan of either (you wouldn't get that) but a good idea. Go and lick out the Frogmore dog bowl instead😅

Still a successful career all the same. At least she worked, and earned her own money. There is no need to denigrate her career, it comes across as very petty.

But you are happy to belittle Kate's achievements page after page - what hypocrites !

She had her role in suits at the time that Kate married William (around 2010/2011). She was around thirty years old. If she had met Harry at the age that Kate married William at 29 years old she would never had that role and thus no career. You can't compare them.

Besides, Kate and Pippa are following the successful example of their own mother so why is it a surprise? Carole also looked good and behaved well and found herself a richer guy to elevate her social status.

And set up a very successful business. Having been born in a Council House.

Not only petty, but quite a lie too.

MM was number 4 in credits as one of the love interests of the one of the leads.

It went :

  1. The older lead who is the head of the firm
  2. Younger guy who plays MM lover
  3. The love interest of no1
  4. The love interest of no2 (MM).
This is a show with sitcom heavyweights like Pierce Hoffman/ Catherine Heigel/DB Woodside/ Abigail Spencer/ Gina Torres (Lawrence Fishburn wife)/ Wendell Pierce (as her father)/ Gary Cole/ Eric Roberts/ etc. Most of the people of the show could and have carried their own show on their own and most have definitely played one of the leads in other shows. Suits was so successful that it lasted 9 episodes.

MM has played a lead in those corny xmas movie - but those have quite a lot of audience. Even H's other x did nothing compared to MM in the movie industry, if MM is a fail, I have no idea what you would call Cressida?
