Was there anything Kate didn't excel at?

Having read many articles Kate (pippa & James also) is so accomplished since she was tiny.
She is very sporty.. strong swimmer, excellent skier, hockey player, lacrosse, athletics, netball.. Plays piano very well & also was lead in schools drama production. Excelled at art.
It seems the Middleton's didn't do much in the way of equistrian sports?
Would love my dc to be as accomplished & well rounded. Can't afford Marlborough or any private for that matter!

Ha not a fan of either (you wouldn't get that) but a good idea. Go and lick out the Frogmore dog bowl instead😅

I have no idea what that means but it doesn't sound very nice - no surprise coming from you having read your other posts.

Plitvice · 18/03/2023 13:59

That familiar moment when the thread goes nuts and you know who why 🙄

Cressida is a classically trained actress who mainly does theatre. Despite being young and conventionally beautiful, she has not developed a career based on using her sexuality even though she easily could. Well done Cressie - great way to be taken seriously in the Industry!

Mommymoments · 18/03/2023 14:01

@Plitvice thought Cressida would have been a very good addition to the rf. Chelsea was my favourite of Harry's girlfriend though.. However I think she was much too intelligent for him!

Northwestern unremarkable?? You must have very high standards OP. It's not Ivy League but it's considered one of the best in the USA and consistently ranks highly in the list of the best universities in the world. It even ranks higher than St Andrews.

Hahaha, looking down on Nortwestern is like someone looking down on UCL/LSE/Imperial/MIT/Caltech/Columbia/YNU. 😂

AuroraCake · 18/03/2023 14:06

What does any of this matter. People fought, died and were vilified informer that women were free to choose. All of these women were.

The only one, out of all of them you could really see as a role model is Carole.

Good for Meghan, Cressida, Kate and whoever else. I hope they have the lives they want.

The only way a royal becomes a role model is through duty. They have everything else offered to them.

Not sure what you're on about because Cressida has been prancing around in a see-through chiffon nighty whatever thing-a-majig . She also played some dumb bimbo in her 'horror movie'.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong. Have seen full frontal nude of Judy Dench and bare boobs of Meryl Streep. Their choice. Don't really matter. Still great actresses.

But was that her entire role in the production or ancillary to the main plot as it was for Dench and Streep and the beautiful Margot Robbie?
For Meghan, that was the whole role and many actresses would not stand for it like she decided to.

AnnunciataZ · 18/03/2023 14:59

The main rule of Northwestern
You can only get in if you are loaded.
It's a private college for rich brats who play hard.
Lotto kids like Meghan spent dad's money and made powerful friends there.

Isn't that the case for a lot of universities in the US though? You need money to get it. Starting to get that way in the U.K too. But Northwestern still made it into the Times Higher Ed's top 30 universities.

She was far and away too good for Harry. The wonder is that she ever went out with him at all.

Meghan also went to a top fee paying Catholic school, an unremarkable uni & had a pitiful acting career up until suits which isn't exactly Hollywood. Kate's gallery career much more impressive & intellectual.

Meghan went to Northwestern University, one of the top unis in America and very hard to get into. Just because it's not 'Ivy league' doesn't make it unremarkable. It's probably actually at the same level as St Andrews.

AnnunciataZ · 18/03/2023 15:51

Wait, Kate had a gallery career? I thought her 'career' was a few months at Jigsaw? Unless OP is confusing her with Eugenie?

She is patron of the National Gallery and picked some pictures for them to hang, all after she was married. Not sure that is a glittering career?! She never worked at a gallery as far as I know.
But Eugenie yes!

I wonder why you think that
oh hang on

fruitbrewhaha · 18/03/2023 16:09

I’m guessing she’s not very good a skinning up.

Chelsea saw sense fairly quickly. She's a solicitor & has a number of businesses now. I think she mixed in an aristocratic circle when she moved to the UK & met Harry that way. She had a lucky escape!

I am guessing kate fans have run out of things to say about her and turning on to Meghan to fill the thread.

AuroraCake · 18/03/2023 22:57

Isn’t it possible to have any kind of clear eyed, non fan girl version of any of them? Like neither girl is intellectual. One likes to put herself forward as an activities st and the other is more unassuming. They both are well educated. One definitely worked for a living and made her own money and the other didn’t and decided early on her relationship was her priority. One adheres and seems to live with the limitations on her and the other didn’t. I mean in a nutshell that is it. We don’t know these women and have nothing but the facts to say about them. All else is opinion.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 19/03/2023 12:36

OP is giving me Annie Wilkes vibes with her fervent devotion and flashes of anger.

jeffgoldblum · 19/03/2023 12:56

I very much doubt op wants to capture Kate , hold her captive, have a relationship and then take a mallet to her ankles to hobble her!

BeingBrave22 · 19/03/2023 19:22

Excelling at every single thing doesn't make you happy. I want my children to be happy. I don't care what they excel at and what they don't, as long as they grow up happy (well, content), kind, hard working and caring. I think Kate's lovely I'm sure. But I wonder too if expectations to excel have led to a perfectionist streak. Perfection is hard to attain. Perfectionism can lead to self criticism, eating probs and the like. I don't wish these things on her and hope lofe is lovely for her, that she is content, and kind and happy. But often those who have excelled throughout life struggle with being 'good enough'.

milti · 19/03/2023 20:54

I think she’s just fine

Was there anything Kate didn't excel at?

Louis is looking a lot like a young Prince Andrew there. He has changed a lot since the Jubilee!
