Their standing in the US is at an all-time low. US audiences seem to hold them in the same contempt as people in the UK

@IcedPurple , think so!
Despite the fact he's not really attractive in looks or personality ( we've now discovered!) .

My DS was telling me about new technology which makes it possible to recycle farts.
You're too deep (crosses arms and taps shoulders).

I mean, you know you're in the presence of a purveyor of Deep Thoughts when you get a quote from BBC Science Focus. That's some heavy stuff right there.

What's the next source for this great intellectual in our midst? The Bench (where life began)?

jeffgoldblum · 18/02/2023 13:32

Although I would like my life to be a bit of a comedy !
Sounds more fun than the usual activities I get up to!

‘If older people view their lives with disappointment and regret, then despair will win, thus fuelling bitterness. In contrast, older people who recognise they did the best they could and see their lives with acceptance and a sense of meaning avoid bitterness and get to enjoy feelings of wisdom instead.’ (BBC Science Focus)

Seems like there are a lot of disappointed people on this thread. More acceptance would prevent the compulsion to find means to derive pleasure from delusional thoughts that you’re doing better than a younger and more accomplished couple than yourself.

I think you need to look at yourself if you find a middle aged couple whose whole lives now seem entwined in projecting an image (aka brand) which is an illusion. One based on lies about their families, hyperinflation of their egos, gross hypocrisy, faux philanthropy and breathtaking grandiosity.

I'm a few years older than them and see them for what they are. It doesn't mean my life is a disappointment or I'm bitter. Maybe you're speaking about yourself?

Sayitagainmyl · 18/02/2023 13:50

jeffgoldblum · 18/02/2023 13:26

@IcedPurple , I believe it's so they can push the " old , bitter , unattractive, jealous woman " narrative!
Same reason they keep referring to a couple, one in her forties and one almost there , as being a young couple!

If the cap fits.

Yes to this.

I find it concerning a person can reach adulthood but not possess the ability to see any of the above and are more than happy to buy into the fairytale narrative that they are being fed without question. Bizarre.

jeffgoldblum · 18/02/2023 13:56

@Sayitagainmyl , I'm laughing at you!
You have no idea the age or appearance of posters , I'm not going to giveaway details to prove onetime posters, with no posing history and a very trolling tone wrong !

Be aware you sound crackers and deeply creepy ( and childish! Half term? )

AliceOlive · 18/02/2023 14:34

I declined a gig with Victoria’s secret for a full ride scholarship to attend Stanford. I finished my PhD in 18 months then went on to patent an application that exists in the device you used to create that post. All before I was 19. Now I’ve been appointed ambassador to a country I cannot name as it would be too outing. So she cannot be talking to me.

🤣

wishingyouwell · 18/02/2023 14:37

The irony is that H and M never asked for privacy and released a statement saying this was fabricated by media to silence them. They left due to the intense, unrelenting bullying and racism.
Their truth is very inconvenient so Murdoch and Daily Mail press will continue to say 'they wanted privacy' to try to distract from the disturbing truth they are revealing. A bit like William trying to undermine his mother's Panorama interview by saying she was 'paranoid'.
Many can see through all this now which is a great thing.

To have any effect would require a high regard for you. But fortunately I cannot see any virtue or garner any respect for individuals that spend years of their lives obsessively critiquing the actions of others whom they do not know in order to gain a morsel of light in their dark lives. But you enjoy your afternoon. You clearly have to seek pleasure where you can find it.

P.S. I think the cap fits very snuggly on the heads of most on these threads, does it not?

jeffgoldblum · 18/02/2023 14:38

@AliceOlive 🤣🤣, I thought there was something about you that seemed familiar!

Ps on other thread , don't bother with that poster 😉

ThighMistress · 18/02/2023 14:40

@wishingyouwell - they can release a statement saying they’re not aliens, but if they’re green and get out of a flying saucer then we kind of disbelieve them…

Step away from the Daily Mail for a moment and read this.

"obsessively critiquing the actions of others whom they do not know"

Isn't that exactly what you are doing here?

Or maybe you're quoting the Profound Wisdom of BBC Science Focus again?

karamazing · 18/02/2023 14:44

wishingyouwell · 18/02/2023 14:41

Oh, Oh tremble, the orifice oracle speaks it's truth!!!

wishingyouwell · 18/02/2023 14:45

@ThighMistress Yes, let's believe the Daily Mail and Murdoch's press and remain completely ignorant and brainwashed.

IcedPurple · 18/02/2023 14:45

They left due to the intense, unrelenting bullying

That's certainly not what they said at the time.

That's the version put out when they threw an enormous hissy fit after their ridiculous 'half in half out' demands were rejected. However, they were silly enough to release that absurd 'Manifesto' so we all know it's not true.

Ridemeginger · 18/02/2023 14:45

They didn't want "privacy"? Maybe. They wanted the limelight for sure. What they didn't want was scrutiny, accountability or any sort of negative reaction to their actions. And that shows in Harry's attitude that his noble birth should afford him the right to say and do exactly what he wants, but he should be protected from critique at all times.

AliceOlive · 18/02/2023 14:51

hmmm

the cap fits “snuggly”
the shoe pinches

*snugly actually, being pedantic

This article predicted all of the problems and the ensuing criticism that ensued.

AliceOlive · 18/02/2023 15:07

They said they intended to split their time between the UK and North America. Why would they say that if it was all about getting away from the UK media?

PreparationPreparationPrep · 18/02/2023 15:12

Sayitagainmyl · 18/02/2023 13:25

As I said, delusional thoughts. If only some could see the comedy in their own lives.

I think their own are either very dull or chaotic so obsession on what H&Ms are / Are not doing or about to do is an easy distraction. To have this much anger towards a couple who don't know you even exist and have not personally wronged you or your family in any way is bloody weird. Or do the Royalists consider the RF members to be extended family so you feel their pain

I would rather be an uncritical fan than be obsessed with hate.

AliceOlive · 18/02/2023 15:55

I would rather be an uncritical fan than be obsessed with hate.

Uncritical fan vs. obsessed with hate. This is very black and white thinking.

Do you think the creators of South Park are obsessed with hate for them?

Sayitagainmyl · 18/02/2023 16:11

@AliceOlive South Park is a satirical animation that is known for deriding public figures. So it’s not necessarily indicative of what the creators feel for the individuals they mock. Coming onto an online forum time and time again to debase the same individuals is a far more personal act and reveals more about the commentator than their subject. I believe MN’s founder refers to such commentators as ‘deranged’. I’m sure most others of sound mind would agree.
P.S. ‘obsessed with hate for them’ is an example of poor syntax. But I’m just being pedantic.
