Their standing in the US is at an all-time low. US audiences seem to hold them in the same contempt as people in the UK

I think you must not have not seen the image in question.

South Park isn’t on public television, anywhere.

SplinteredRuler · 18/02/2023 06:04

Good to see this, I hope these two burn out on the world stage and trot off and live the life they spouted about wanting to live.

Nosleepforthismum · 18/02/2023 06:06

I love South Park. I’ve not seen this episode but it sounds tame in comparison to others I’ve seen 😅. I personally would be weirdly thrilled to have been depicted on SP and I would consider myself to have “made it” in America so who knows - maybe Harry is secretly chuffed.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘public television’ .

I just looked the censorship ratings up.
Where I live, South Park rates M for earlier seasons and MA for later ones. MA - you should be 15 years or older to watch it if watching without a parent or guardian. So not considered pornographic.

pilates · 18/02/2023 08:05

Maybe M&H are enjoying their portrayal on South Park - more publicity for their cause?

I imagine Rose is likely to give W&K headspace because she is in UK with them. but what interest is she to H&M other than they are likely to know what went on. - your post doesn't make sense

Well, it seems to make sense to other posters who responded to it but I suspect it would be a waste of my time explaining it to you.
If you don't get, it's no problem. Just scroll past and read something else.

As for those who excuse Camilla and Charles's affair based on 'love' and 'happiness', would you be so generous if your own significant other strayed and the same excuse was afforded?

Of course, I'd be upset my husband loved someone else. But I'd be happier that I was replaced by someone he truly loved rather than just having a fling. I hope that I'd move on, too, to find someone better. I'd certainly be mad at myself if I was harbouring grudges 30 years later.

PatientZorro · 18/02/2023 09:18

South Park have absolutely nailed it, so funny. That’s why the H&M fan crew are so very angry. Decapitation indeed! Get a grip, such desperate stuff 😂😂. Waagh!

ThighMistress · 18/02/2023 09:39

Any publicity is good publicity, so maybe H&M do approve…. but I’d think not as it doesn’t portray them as comical, or silly, but just that bit too accurately.

Honestly, the Supporters are so daft. Always the Whataboutery. The old PW South Park is the new, “But Andrew……”

PA is cancelled and PW is rather dull: H&M on the other hand are a rolling entertainment show.

You can split up without the deceit and lies. A divorce and everyone moves on. That didn't happen.

Cory Vitiello wasn't too pleased about it when M cheated on him. He wasn't impressed when she fudged the timelines a few years later.
Oh, Trevor's uncle spelled out that TE had also been cheated upon in that tabloid interview from a few years ago.
Hustlers make good cheaters because they don't sweat the details, just got the money pot goal in mind.

It’s on cable in the US…Oh never mind. What’s the point?

For 5 weeks now Harry has had a NY Times best-seller so if you consider him 'not going well' you need to put the Dail Mail down for a sweet moment and smell the coffee.

I don't know about the American market but in the U.K. I think it was a flash in the pan. Those who were truly interested probably mostly bought online, anyway in the first few days. Others may be awaiting the charity shop bargains.
The bookshops have moved on.

Spare is the only Royal half price bargain in this branch of Waterstones.

They are derided and despised around the world. I imagine any publishers/tv companies negotiating future books/series will be making far lower offers for the rights.
Like the South Sea bubble this financial feeding frenzy has run its course.

ShamedBySiri · 18/02/2023 10:41

@Lizziet64 😂

AliceOlive · 18/02/2023 10:41

I just looked at Barnes and Noble online and only the hardback is reduced there.

But did anyone know there are so many summaries and companion guides available?

I’ve been out and about latEly in various bookshops and it wasn’t in any independent bookstores. I would imagine because they can’t afford to sell half price. In Waterstones on table at entrance. Looks no difference from the day it went on sale.

a friend send me the pdf and a I have searched for peoples names. It did seem an amazing amount in the beginning though, probably on Amazon and the big chains who can afford to sell discounted.

AuroraCake · 18/02/2023 11:01

Sell an amazing amount

PreparationPreparationPrep · 18/02/2023 11:20

Even if the usual crew are in denial - we know it's sold very well as do the publishers H&M and those making the money. The fact that random MN H&M hater(s) who knows the local Waitrose manager Confuseddoesn't agree is neither here nor there in terms of the overall objective of the book. I really don't think you are on their radar.

No, way too thin skinned to see the humour. Their brand is brave victims of racism, the media and the institution that is the monarchy. Their brand is also environmentalists, philanthropists and influencers, despite the gross hypocrisy they display.

Turtleegg · 18/02/2023 11:27

They won't find it funny as its too close to the truth. It wasn't an over the top and evidently ridiculous plot like W&Ks appearance in the 2011 episode (which no wasn't about the rumours) then I suspect they might, or not as a sense of humour and ability to not take oneself too seriously doesn't seem to be the case.

@BemusedDad I didn’t know the name Benjamin Butterworth so looked at his Twitter. He was defending Sasha Walpole. There were loads of people relying in an angry manner. They did sound exactly like that poster, but not him.

So I don’t get your comment?

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 18/02/2023 11:36

I thought it was a great, not one of the funnier episodes but spot on in it's satire, especially the dig at 'branding'.
