I really really like her!! She's so respectful, humble, funny, chill and genuinely lovely! No drama, no backstabbing, no dissing the royals or even Harry. What a thoroughly nice person!

If Harry had stuck with her and she had stuck with him, they would likely have been a fantastic duo and I fully expect Harry would have turned out far more normal, down to Earth and waaaaaaay less wokey/therapy-speak/narcissistic & self absorbed etc.. (though might not have had such a positive impact on Sasha!)

Sasha, u r awesome!

I've re-read my OP and I think people have read into it that I genuinely think he and Sasha should have stayed together!! It was just meant as a light hearted thread pondering how things may have been if they did. I never meant people to get so defensive about it all! Of course I know that the person you have a quickie with age 16 is hardly likely to be the person you settle down with. I think some have taken me a tad too seriously.

Anyway, interesting to see how the thread panned out! Don't think I'll venture onto Mumsnet again for a while!!! It's vicious 🙂🍷

I didn't take your Op seriously! Get the sentiment though.

skullbabe · 12/02/2023 17:18

She does seem nice - I think she’s good humoured and appears quite friendly and down to earth. I think it’s a shame that there was enough information in the paragraph that she felt no choice but to out herself as people she knew were asking about it. Overall I think it was a good move from her perspective because it’s all settling down now (the media circus) and she can return to normality if she wishes.

The one thing I’m not clear on is why people are calling her “the help” or a “servant” - I don’t think she has said this was her role.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 12/02/2023 17:19

You contradict yourself within two sentences.

I genuinely think he and Sasha should have stayed together!!

Of course I know that the person you have a quickie with age 16 is hardly likely to be the person you settle down with.

So if you know this, why do you think he should have married a woman he bonked in a field for five minutes, and not the woman he actually did marry, is still married to, and has children with?

ChocMarshmallows · 12/02/2023 17:19

But no, you had to go on to say if he had married her, he would be normal, not woke, bla, bla, bla.

i do think if he had married her it would have been great fun and he would have turned out differently. That doesn't mean to say I think he should t have married Megan or I don't like Meghan. I do t know when he turned all woke and weird, may have been long before he met her. She may have been a great influence on him for all I know! I was just commenting that I like Sasha and think she'd have been a fun and down to earth influece!

And when people say they don't care whether someone is black white or purple, it raises red flags. Not only because no-one is purple so it's demeaning of people of colour to "otherise" us as colours that don't exist in humans, but because you are devaluing experiences of racism by saying they don't matter because YOU choose not to see them.
**
Oh my gosh, i really hate race being bought into threads where it isnt relevant. I raised about colours because @samcro was goady and said I only like Sasha because she had blonde hair. I was making the point that I don't care what colour hair she has.

My mother is Portuguese, so has olive skin and black hair. My dad is French Canadian. My step mother is Jamaican. My half siblings are British Jamaican. I spent most of my childhood raised in Japan. I moved to uk for secondary when I went to school with mainly Asian pupils and I was the only white British person in my year. I later moved to the middle east. Given my experiences in life, I genuinely don't care what hair colour someone has. I've rarely been surrounded by anyone with blonde hair. If I like someone, I like them. If I don't, I don't. Colour of hair or skin bares no relevance and I wish people wouln't be so goady and bring in hair colour or race when it just isn't there. It does not good. It only stokes division

Sasha would have divorced him pretty quickly though. His wokery and therapy speak has been there all the time, just nicely hidden.

Basically he's an arsehole @ChocMarshmallows and I wouldn't wish him on anyone.

A groom to the polo horses is simply paid help. They are very lowly in the pecking order. My brother works on a stud farm and confirms this. Harry ghosted her following g the incident. I think that shows how he viewed her.

Ridemeginger · 12/02/2023 17:23

It's the usual crowd, Choc. There's no way there is room in their worldview for Sasha (or someone like her) to be a decent and likeable woman who would have made a good match for Harry and for Harry to be happy with his choice of wife now. And it always boils down to race. I'd be interested to know how many of these posters who reduce these conversations to skin colour are people of colour themselves. I'm of South Asian heritage, and look a lot more like Meghan than Sasha, Kate, Chelsee or any of the other oft vilified women.
I'd rather have a pint and a laugh with a Sasha type than naval gaze with a Meghan type. Nothing to do with their skin colour, everything to do with their personalities. I also married a ginger and have mixed race kids. My life long love of ginger boys would not have led me anywhere near Harry's penis, either. I like intellectually capable, funny and kind men - drug addled men-children leave me cold.

Oh Ridemeginger! (good username by the way!!!) thank you for your sensible post! I have no idea how it all got derailed down the race path, but thanks is from bringing it back! Love the bit about your ginger boys and Harry's Penis!! Made me giggle 😂😂😂

Of course - no teenage drunken or for that matter adult fumble really is edifying. How he viewed her was very clear in the paragraph he wrote - someone he slept with very quickly and unceremoniously. Sasha however doesn’t express any regret or mentioned feeling slighted or ghosted. Regardless - I’m glad she did what she felt she needed to do to control the narrative. Hopefully this will quiet down any more speculation and the press will leave her alone now.

Ridemeginger · 12/02/2023 17:34

Oh *Choc", it all began with the unrequited love of my teens, C. Red headed, cute, kind and cleverest boy in the world. He married a blonde. Bloody racist 😂

I'm not sure how this turned from a post about how lovely Sasha is, into some people trying to suggest I'm Meghan bashing or worse, racist. Please stop bringing in race or Meghan bashing when neither apply here. I just think Sasha seems great. If she was also mixed race I'd say the same thing.

Colour/appearance and my opinion of Meghan have nothing to do with it.

Sasha has shown dignity, grace, humbleness, humour and a down to earth attitude. Harry appeared happier in the days he was hanging about with her and their pals and William as a group.

Please just leave the race comments at the door. It is not related. You don't know anything about my own heritage and are making massive assumptions from things I haven't said.

Possibly because this was your intention - it is a goady insincere post dotted with digs at Meghan who Harry chose to marry.
Would you be writing these words if Meghan was White English. You are a fan of Sasha after reading a few lines in a book and then watching a 15 minute edited interview. Confused? Even if he had not married Meghan would he really have married Sasha - he's had 15 years before Meghan and other short and long term partners. It was a quick romp and this happens between teenagers all the time. I'm sure you are aware. What next Sasha4Duchess?

PreparationPreparationPrep · 12/02/2023 17:38

🙆🤷 I give up!! Have you actually read the thread? Or my OP?

I like Sasha based on the interviews I've seen, and probably just as much because of the lack of interviews over the last 21 yrs. I like her grace and dignity. How she didn't slam Harry or megs. How she was dignified. She's my kind of person and I think she seems fun! That's it. End of! I think she and Harry may well have made a great pair!!

I'm disappearing now because there are some real goaders on here today, determined to bring hostility and division, and that's not really my bag.

Happy sunday

Yes I read your OP which is very different to the one you just posted.

Anyway I think you should stay with your thread - there are plenty here to keep you company.

WiIson · 12/02/2023 17:47

Would you be writing these words if Meghan was White English.

Probably. I would imagine it's more about Meghan's personality. Not the colour of her skin or the fact that she's not English.

Ohifyouinsist · 12/02/2023 17:48

Do you know this person OP? Did you know them as a couple? If not, what a strange thing to post.

Roussette · 12/02/2023 17:49

How she didn't slam Harry or megs

Why would she?

This thread is very odd. And you still think Harry and her would've made a great pair!
You couldn't make it up, you really couldn't.

She not good enough or something?

ImaniMumsnet · 12/02/2023 18:03

Hi everyone,

Can we get some peace and love on this thread please? Please can we also stay on topic as some of the posts are derailing.

Did I say that? No.

My point is... he was 17, they weren't in a relationship and it meant nothing. Yet apparently she would've made a good match for him as opposed to the wife he is with

mathanxiety · 12/02/2023 18:07

If she was a Highgrove employee she probably signed some sort of NDA. The book didn't mention her name and 'older woman' wasn't very specific as a description for anyone trying to track her down.

Plitvice · 12/02/2023 18:12

It was a teenage bonk in a field vs a mature bonk in Rwanda which then evolved into something else.
It is clear that he likes bonking outdoors with women who don't believe in waiting long either.
