I keep hearing this rumour and I'm just curious to know where it comes from? Where is the evidence?

Novella4 - what a stupid post. Name one person who holds up the Royal Family as 'perfect' (assuming that's what you were unsuccessfully trying to spell).

Areyouactuallyserious · 21/01/2023 09:31

Cute that you think peoples ‘staff’ do not gossip about them and their antics.

as if it’s hard to believe that a super entitled privileged man would cheat on his wife… please!

They're made to sign watertight NDAs.
Otherwise cleaners, cooks, security staff, handymen, nannies etc could make a lot more money on the side.

vera99 · 21/01/2023 09:40

There are pictures that are appearing on social media that if they are not fake are certainly scandalous.

Novella loathes the RF and continuously sticks the boot in.

SallyWD · 21/01/2023 09:41

I wouldn't be surprised at all. He's been treated as something special his whole life. How could he help but feel entitled? My friend went to uni with him and women were throwing themselves at him.

Areyouactuallyserious · 21/01/2023 09:42

Thank you for explaining how NDAs work :)

People talk, staff, friends in the Norfolk set etc etc.

JoyPeaceHealth · 21/01/2023 09:42

Charles was a bit of a victim of that marriage to diana though. Unlike william he did not get to think long and hard and make the decision himself.
He was living in a time when a woman's reputation could be smirched if it was obvious that she'd slept with somebody else. It depended what circles the woman was moving in perhaps but diana's circle, her wholesome aristos would have expected her to be a virgin. So Charles was TOLD either finish this now or get engaged. he was 33 and already being made to feel like a freak for not having met somebody.

It is sometimes good to be curious.

I’m not sure I would bother being. curious about something gossipy unless I was wanting to either shit-stir or draw attention to myself for spurious reasons.

I daresay that it would have been a better bombshell for a recent tome instead of a frostnipped knob and thinking of your mother while slathering said appendage in balm.

I haven't read the book - did he really say that?!

JoyPeaceHealth · 21/01/2023 09:45

@RosetteNebula haven't read it either but apparently he said that he opened the cream and then it brought him straight back, the smell, his mother used to put this on her lips. then he moved on to rubbing it on his poor todger. so there wasn't much time to get his mother out of his head.

Pipsquiggle · 21/01/2023 09:46

For what it's worth, I don't know the royal family, but know people who move in those circles from 2 different and separate angles - the military and fashion.

Military contact told me about William having an affair in circa 2018.

Fashion contact told my DH about a year later and said it was an 'open secret' in Royal circles - much like his dad and Camilla.

I am not passing judgement BTW. It must be totally weird being in that family

fruitstick · 21/01/2023 09:49

Delorestormborn · 21/01/2023 06:06

If he did it seems odd that Kate's sister would give her daughter the same name as the alleged mistress. Giles Coren is an idiot.

Or a clever double bluff 🧐 🕵️

I have no idea, but I don't think it follows that because his Dad did it, he would or wouldn't.

I can see a scenario though where if it is true, Harry would be fucking livid because I imagine he has quite a black and white view of it.

And it would make sense that the palace would be keen to feed stories about Harry in return for silence on this and Prince Andrew.

But who the fuck knows.

Either it's not true, or Harry knows that it would be crossing a line to talk about it.

ArcaneWireless · 21/01/2023 09:50

There are some statements that I just know are going to summon out my inner Nan.

Edited for politeness.

Did William really cheat on Kate?
Lilgamesh2 · 21/01/2023 09:51

Haven't RTFT but surely if the rumours were false Rose would have put out a social media statement refuting it?! This hoopla must be awful for her. I understand that the RF have a "never explain" policy but what's HER excuse for not refuting it?

I definitely think it happened.

Dahlietta · 21/01/2023 09:18

Some people are so gullible they fall for anything in the media.
You've only go to look at the photos of them both, going back years, to see they are really in love and dote on each other.

The juxtaposition of these two sentences made me laugh.

And me.

There are people who are determined to believe this and, furthermore, to keep starting threads on it, just to keep the rumour alive.

It's pathetic and the worst kind of trolling.

Interestingly there are people / posters who want to divide us into royalists v. republicans. It's Brexit all over again. The juicest thing about this whole ridiculous virtual soap opera is that we all allegedly fall into one of two camps.

It's about manipulating the masses and steering up hatred. We are supposed to either hate the Sussexes or hate the royal family.

Posters like the one who started this thread are using the term royalist when most people wouldn't consider themselves royalists but are fed up with the negativity Harry flings around. And as prince Harry fans, they also must be into the royal family, so it's all hypocritical. It's a Wales against Sussex online popularity contest.

Nothing to do with the monarchy as such and all to do with basic human stories, family feuds, jealousy, envy, love. It's all a bit of fun as long as you remember that you, the MN poster, are an active participant in this spectacle. With each post that declares your loyalty to either camp, you are contributing to division and perpetuating the story.

Maireas · 21/01/2023 09:52

I always like the contributions from your inner Nan, @ArcaneWireless !
Spot on! 😂😂

DorritLittle · 21/01/2023 09:55

Lol @ArcaneWireless

queenofarles · 21/01/2023 09:58

I am told the rumours of a falling out between these two attractive young women are false. I can also reveal both sides have considered legal action but, because none of the reports have been able to offer any evidence about what the so-called dispute is about, they have chosen to ignore it.
this is what Richard Kay said back in 2019 ,

I wish someone with more legal Knowledge explains this further , if rumours were true then why did both Wanted to sue but sue who really?

Framilode · 21/01/2023 10:00

I have been reading the Chips Channon diaries and he moved in those aristrocratic/royal circles. I know that was the 1950's, but it seems that after the heir and the spare were born just about everyone had a lover/mistress. It also seems that many of the children of the marriage were not the husbands. It seemed to be accepted by all parties and by their friends.

I'm not suggesting that William was unfaithfull, but what I am saying that the world they live in has completely different moral values and boundaries from those most plebs consider acceptable. Marriage was much more of business deal and once the initial attraction had faded both parties were free to discreetly move on.

Cath667 · 21/01/2023 10:00

There have been rumours about Princess Anne and Andrew Parker Bowles for years....

I couldn't care less who the royals shag. Loads of people have affairs, despite many on Mumsnet refusing to believe their partners would do such a thing. It's between William and Kate. It's their marriage and their business.

ArcaneWireless · 21/01/2023 10:01

@Maireas my friend 😘

I’m off a nightshift. I’m girny. And she’s out.

I’ve got the Masked Singer and Dancing On Ice this weekend. And Midwife.

It might not be purty.

Thank the stars I’ve got a Vera and the potters to bring me back to normality.

LadyEloise1 · 21/01/2023 10:02

Some posters imply that as William experienced sadness over his parents split he wouldn't inflict this on his own children.

Well Diana, his mother and her brother Charles Spencer spoke of their sadness in childhood with their parents split. They too had children and marriage break ups........

GoingOnce · 21/01/2023 00:51

It’s totally true. I know this because my cousin works in a royal palace and the staff were all told not to mention it at work.

Also it’s definitely not true. I know this because my other cousin works with Giles Coren’s wife and she admitted he made it up and feels pretty bad about it now.

Also Kate is really thin so he definitely had an affair. Also Pippa called her baby Rose so it’s definitely not true.

You just have to pick a side OP. There’s no right or wrong side, you just pick one and stick to it!

😂😂

wondering whether this is what PH meant when he said, 'they [palace] will lie to protect him [PoW] but won't tell the truth about me...'

Guess it's not the sex, but the lying... Wink
