I don’t think he’s fiery. I think he’s an angry man in a position of undeserved power and privilege. He is neither charismatic nor highly intelligent, and doesn’t appear to have too much of a sense of humour = dull.

I know several married couples where the where the husband or wife turns a blind eye. Could be the same here. Apart from rumours I’ve never seen anything reported in the foreign press. However W & K don’t give off the vibe that they are unhappy with each other so either they are bloody good actors or there is no affair.
